A Day in the Life of a Part Time Job Slave

Who: Yu Narukami, and everyone and anyone and all the things.
Where: Virgo, Aquarius, and Taurus Districts; any given week.
Summary: Yu's still working his three jobs to help save up for an apartment. And now it's almost Christmas time... you can pretty much guess how this goes.
Warnings: Crossdressing antics.

[Christmas time again... never mind it had only been a few months ago for Yu. He didn't want to think much about what happened before last Christmas, so... well...]

[MONDAY-WEDNESDAY; MAYS GROCERY STORE CLERK, 5:00 3:00-11:00PM]
[Being the superstore of Hinoto-Ri, of course Mays is swamped on a regular basis. Yu is totally and completely not shocked when they start calling him in to work extra hours. He was thinking about going back to school, but that's obviously out this month... at least the extra money will help with his apartment funds.]

[Yu can be found, quite literally, all over the store. Seeing as it's busy, he's willing to go where ever they need him: grocery, check out, deli area... everywhere.]

[THURSDAY-FRIDAY; AQUARIUS DISTRICT LIBRARY, 5:00-9:00PM]
[He would say that Thursday and Friday are his break days, but guess where some shoppers drop their kids off while they shop? Hinoto-Ri really needs a Chuck E. Cheese or something...]

[When Yu isn't child wrangling, he'll be around helping with anyone that wants to study or needs some kind of tutoring. He would also bring Nanako with him while he works, if she wants to come.]

[SATURDAY; NYX'S NIGHTCLUB, 10:00PM-4:00AM]
[...he hates the fact that he's starting to love this job.]

[No, seriously, after he got over the overwhelming shame, he found himself having a lot of fun at work. Sure, it sucked when demons got a little too grabby, but he was strong enough to remind them that touching was against the rules.]

[Since it's going to be cold on the 8th, Yu's going to work wearing his wig. Hey, the extra hair helped to keep his ears warm.]

Never in her life has Rise been more enthusiastic about buying ham. In the meantime, though, she wanders over to say hi.

"Hey, Senpai! I didn't realize you worked here, too," she said, smiling as she usually did when she ran into him.

"Um... I think I get most of it." She smiles at Yu, not wanting to ask him for help because she knows he's busy and this is his break. "How are you?"

Yes, we did; or well, we tried. The only information we could rely on was from those that had been thrown in the TV. We had trouble putting the pieces together at first, until one of our friends also obtained their persona.

[...and even then it wasn't immediately obvious. Hm... this probably wasn't being at all encouraging. Yu paused a moment, thinking...]

Did you see the Persona tournament a few months back?

"Hunh?"

Oh. Right. The wig.

"...it's keeping my ears warm."

At least it wasn't a lie! Izanagi, stop that, he can feel you glaring at him in the back of his mind.

"Do you need help?" he asked, quickly changing the topic.

[Yu smiled faintly as he watched, reminded of his daycare job back in Inaba. Man, he missed that...]

[He waited until the kid ran back to his friends.]

So, do you remember where we left off last Thursday?

"Rise?"

Don't mind him being surprised; are you following him to all of his jobs?

"Yeah, here too," he continued, a bit of a smile coming to his face. "Yosuke's here as well, though I'm not sure where they put him today."

"I'm... all right."

He looked down at her, trying not to let the sad look that was threatening his face show up. Damn, it was around this time, that... A moment passed, before Yu gathered his cousin up in his arms, holding her close.

"...sorry I haven't been able to spend that much time with you."

Hey, this time stalking him was completely unintentional. Also, come on, what are the odds of running into Rise at the public library?

"I'll have to go say hi to him, too!"

"It's kinda packed in here. Are you doing alright?" she asked, ready to move on if he, rightly, shooed her off so he could work.

"It's okay. You're working hard and doing important jobs, right?" She's used to her family having busy schedules. And whatever work he has to do, she's sure it's great and she's proud of him for doing it.

There's no reason she shouldn't be.... right?

Either way, she returns his hug happily, smiling at him. "And.... We were supposed to be far apart right now. So, I'm really glad that we're still together."

"Yeah, more or less," Yu replied. "It's the Christmas season, so they're trying to cater to all nationalities that might be here."

Er... yup, no reason not to be proud at all! O-of course...

"That's true..." he replied; he kept forgetting she was after him in their timeline. "Though, Nanako... you know I'd come back any time I could. You're my family."

Oh, yeah. I was in that!

[I lost in that.]

I'd be up for trying it again, now that I've got a little more experience. ...And a Persona with Diarama.

[Yeah... he's still not sure what happened to his match. He's pretty sure he passed out afterward...]

I would too. We should sign up sometime.

Um... we were working on animals, I think.

[Link may or may not have ended up writing 'horse' about fifty times.]

[Yu set out some paper and pencils, before settling down and grabbing a picture book. He flipped it open, holding up a picture of a cat and nodding for Link to write down what it was.]

[Link nods, and carefully writes down 'cat', before showing it to Yu. His handwriting is shaky, but legible.]

He stares at him for a little while longer. "Eh. What you do in your own time is none of my business." Congratulations, Yu, you've painted some weird pictures in Guybrush's head.

"Anyway, a little help would definitely be useful. The little jerk keeps scratching me and running off whenever i get close."

Wednesday. Because things need to happen on Wednesdays more often.

Because someone very lost and in traditional clothing is looking in your direction, Yu Narukami.

"Excuse me..."

"Oh yeah, there's a lot of Westerners and strange space people here, aren't there?" she asked, wondering what some of the people from the future actually did for Christmas now that she thought about it.

I thought they were suspended over the winter, but maybe I just think that because I haven't been paying attention much.

.......Not that this is much of a winter right now.

"Yeah... I know that. But it's still more fun when you're always here." Only having her dad there too could make it better.

Oh Nanako... he could only hope that Dojima would show up here, a thought that both terrified and amused him at the same time. Terrified him because wow would there be questions, and amused him because... well, his uncle. With a Persona.

He pulled Nanako a little tighter against himself, snuggling her close.

"Then I'll be here as long as we're here."

I don't think winter is supposed to be like this.
