destinystrings | A Day in the Life of a Part Time Job Slave

Who: Yu Narukami, and everyone and anyone and all the things.
Where: Virgo, Aquarius, and Taurus Districts; any given week.
Summary: Yu's still working his three jobs to help save up for an apartment. And now it's almost Christmas time... you can pretty much guess how this goes.

[Christmas time again... never mind it had only been a few months ago for Yu. He didn't want to think much about what happened before last Christmas, so... well...]

[MONDAY-WEDNESDAY; MAYS GROCERY STORE CLERK, ~~5:00~~ 3:00-11:00PM]
[Being the superstore of Hinoto-Ri, of course Mays is swamped on a regular basis. Yu is totally and completely not shocked when they start calling him in to work extra hours. He was thinking about going back to school, but that's obviously out this month... at least the extra money will help with his apartment funds.]

[Yu can be found, quite literally, all over the store. Seeing as it's busy, he's willing to go where ever they need him: grocery, check out, deli area... everywhere.]

[THURSDAY-FRIDAY; AQUARIUS DISTRICT LIBRARY, 5:00-9:00PM]
[He would say that Thursday and Friday are his break days, but guess where some shoppers drop their kids off while they shop? Hinoto-Ri really needs a Chuck E. Cheese or something...]

[When Yu isn't child wrangling, he'll be around helping with anyone that wants to study or needs some kind of tutoring. He would also bring Nanako with him while he works, if she wants to come.]

[SATURDAY; NYX'S NIGHTCLUB, 10:00PM-4:00AM]
[...he hates the fact that he's starting to love this job.]

[No, seriously, after he got over the overwhelming shame, he found himself having a lot of fun at work. Sure, it sucked when demons got a little too grabby, but he was strong enough to remind them that touching was against the rules.]

[Since it's going to be cold on the 8th, Yu's going to work wearing his wig. Hey, the extra hair helped to keep his ears warm.]

He winced, a hand going to his head as he tried to tell his head god to relax, but it was difficult to concentrate with that kind of blinding pain going on.]

[It's a very long moment that passes, an gradually, Yu's head pain began to lessen. When he finally did speak, he was brief, but the feeling behind his words was palpable.]

[Yeah, sorry. She kind of felt it too and the connection nearly broke as she heard screeching static. Yet she kept it open, keeping her own emotions down for as long as she could and shouldering as much as she could. Yet those feelings...

Come on, Aqua--get up-- [An almost choked-like 'sound', before:] --I won't let you die on me, too!

She knew them all too well, and it was all she could to to keep her voice level. As a result, it's barely a whisper...maybe almost a prayer.]

I have hurt so many because of my failure to communicate and barriers of the Heart. Watched helplessly as the three people I cared for most were claimed by terrible fates.

If there was anything I could ever do, it would be to apologize to my younger brother for not being there to wake him from his slumber... and my father for failing to protect both of them and the worlds I was destined to in his stead.

I only hope it isn't too late for you and her like it might be for me.

[Gradually, the pain lessened more, until it was gone entirely. Still, he could feel Izanagi's aching heart, more like it was his own ache. His eyes fell closed as he clutched at his chest, feeling that hollow pain. This was... it was how he felt back home, when he thought of how he was going to have to leave his friends when March 21st came. That bone crushing Emptiness, that soul sucking Despair... it obliterated the Hope he had that they would all remain near and dear to each other, no matter how far apart they were...]

[...tears fell from Yu's own eyes, and his mouth moved against his will.]

[They are both going to need an asprin for this. Still, she was going to add something... for both of them.]

Somewhere out there, there's a plant called a paopu tree that produces star-shaped fruit. If two people share one, their destinies become intertwined. Sailors also make necklaces and charms in the same shape for safe travels.

I made these to show my two closest friends and brothers that no matter where our journey led us, no matter how far apart we are, our light would bring us back together someday. It's only an object, no matter what magic I weaved into it to draw on our strength... *and to Izanagi only* -but even after terrible events that drove us apart, *to both* the bonds never broke. *to Izanagi* Even when we said horrible things to one another.

I don't know Izanami, but I think humans have proven time and time again that there's always hope and a chance to reconcile. So long as both sides reach out.

[Yu nodded, though it was more like Izanagi was doing it. The hope to reconcile... yes, that could very well be possible, in this place, in this time. Were Izanami open to listen... perhaps...]

[After a moment, Yu crumpled to his knees as his Persona retreated deep into his soul, sparing him from further pain. He still felt completely drained, however; far too exhausted to get back to his feet just yet.]

[...Yeah, he's being joined. Sort of. It's kid of just instinct for her to catch someone when they fall, even if it means falling too.

Apologizing seems shallow right now, especially when it's likely something that Izanagi needed to hear from a third party. Asking if he's okay also seemed pretty dumb because "not okay; exhausted as hell." Eudora returned to her soul too, silent as her user right now.]

Will you both be alright? [...] and would you like a shortcut home?

[It's the least she can offer.]

[Yu nodded, managing to force out a breath.]

Y-yeah... it's just draining when Izanagi does that...

[Considering how they first met, he wasn't exactly sure about any kind of "shortcuts" back to the apartment. Then again, standing wasn't exactly A Thing at the moment either. He managed another nod, feeling like he was going to drop off to sleep any second.]

[She nods faintly in understanding. Seriously, he didn't want to know what it was like the first time she learned to teleport the first time. It sucked (and she fell asleep on the roof of their castle from the fatigue).]

...Drift. [Aaaaand up goes the protag for a moment while she summons Master Keeper, and she tosses it up into the air soon as well. It was always...awkward, trying to use this trick with her Master's Keyblade... but it was stronger than Rainfell by a long shot. It should be able to handle both of them.

Enjoy gently landing on the platform between her and the controls, Yu... Also the ride to Libra apartments. Motorcycles? Why when you can friggin' fly.]

[...suddenly his scooter license wasn't so cool anymore. He would probably geek out about this more when he didn't feel so exhausted, but for now he was just going to lean back against her and enjoy the ride.]

[What's a scooter? ...No seriously, what's that. She has no idea what some of these vehicles are that you know so well. She just quietly rides above the streets to Libra apartments, not saying a word as she lets her own thoughts wander.

This was likely one of the last vaguely carefree moments she'd have with Xehanort now present. A fact that made her want to sob internally, because it was like six years all over again, yet he knew not what he'd done.

But she did, She knew just how much she'd failed to not just protect her friends, but the worlds they all aspired to be able to protect. Maybe that's why... her Persona was Eudora. A nymph lamenting her brother's death for eternity as a star with her sisters, having died as well.

Yet as she looked down to the boy riding with her tonight, she could see the brilliant light his aura gave off; the hope and inner strength he gave those he bonded with. Her future was uncertain, discernible as it lingered in the Dark. The likelihood she would be used as one of the Seven of Light was high, but... Yu and his Persona still had a chance.

'I pray you don't fall as I did... That you can face your truth head on with those who will be there beside you. And that you and your friends will withstand what comes your way.'

Just as she continues to hope that she will be able to stand by her two brother's sides and finish what started with them. She stared at the cream-white and mauve metal that formed this version of her Glider.

'Master... What's to become of the path we chose-?']
