At the World's End: Hot and Cold Clash! The Holiday Mixup Special

Summary: Pyro Jacks and Jack Frosts go around the city, and brainwash a few avatars.

It was more than just a strange turmoil at this point. Hell, it been the talk of the town and on the news since a few days ago. Searching for the culprits had showed up nothing (although rumors pointed it at either the Anoli who had been relatively quiet lately or an unidentified third party) and if other demons knew what was up, no one was really talking. What was visible, however, where the results.

Frost on one side of the street, summertime on the other. The very elements had been arguing for the entire month now met up in dangerous lines for the past week.

What's more, the network had started to malfunction for those supposed to be searching and helping to protect this town. Coincidence? Or was there something more in the air?

Dawn of the 21st day, or more technically, the end of the 20th, 13th hour, the culprits finally made themselves known.

Jack Frosts and Pyro Jacks flew around the city in visible numbers, spinning the air into divided lines, bringing forth spring, summer, fall, winter in a carousel of powers and spells. The air hissed and groaned, as they got into verbal arguments.

Turf wars, it seemed, spanned the elements and the holidays. Especially when two powerful clans were acting like spoiled children.

And like a plague, their powers spread out like the wildfire and snowflakes that they wielded, their mastery of the elements leaking out into the physical world, now not only touching the atmosphere, but the very people of the city. Those closely related to the ice, water, fire and lightning would find their powers suddenly acting strangely, and the creature's own wants and desires reflected in their own. Blessed...or cursed more likely with this, the city found itself with a different problem altogether.

But that wasn't all. Oh no. That would be far to easy. In the mist of the argument, they realized that just having two clans fighting would not be enough. Oh no! Since the habitats of the city lived in it, they should be the ones to decide who would win; a summery green Christmas, or a chilly wintery one?

For four people, it would be a call they couldn't ignore. The clans chose their avatars, and grew ready to spread their influence over all...in the name of a holiday.

Their hearts were in the right place. They were just thinking too much like demons.

[OOC: Feel free to start your own posts wandering around the city. If you signed up, you are now affected by the spells. You can control and play as many Frost and Pyro Jacks as you want, since they'll be close to you/wanting to help out their chosen ones. For the four, your first mission will be to spread the "joy" of your respectful holiday. You're not doing this to be malicious, you're just stating what you feel is the right option for Christmas, that's all (TOTALLY NOT BRAINWASHED YOU GUYS)! Everyone else, you can go around and try to talk with the Pyro or the Jack Frosts, but they'll be busy spreading their 'cheer' around. You can crash into each others' threads too, especially if you are one of the affected. For now it's not so much fighting as just being overly festive and why doesn't the other clan see how wrong they are?]

It was a lot like what Terra imagined watching a crash on a race track was like; you couldn't tear your eyes away, even though the end result wouldn't be pretty.

He'd managed to pick up something that the Frosts had said before the girl joined in, after Aqua's well-timed Transcendence spell--that she wasn't acting very much in the Christmas spirit.

He failed to see how singing at random and dressing like an idiot had anything to do with Christmas. Actually, with the number of onlookers this was gathering, this whole spectacle really needed to be wrapped up, and soon, before even more people somehow wound up getting dragged into it. If the little girl's behavior was anything to go by, anyone could get dragged in.

... Transcendence actually gives him an idea; it won't hurt either of the singers, and it should stop them for a little while.

He calls his Keyblade to his hand and focuses on the two making a spectacle of themselves, hoping to land the spell on top of them.

"Drift!" An orb of purple energy appears under them and extends outwards, forming a harmless anti-gravity field underneath the two that should keep them hovering a few feet above the ground for a couple of minutes.

"Knock it off, guys." Seriously, you guys need to cool off.

OH you mean like...finish their sweet song, right?! Eikichi don't give a fuck.

This is pretty fun, whatever that angry guy did! She does a few somersaults mid-air, then points to Eikichi.

Might as well let him finish. There's no stopping him it seems!

"Take it home!"

THIS WHOLE CITY'S A PLAYFIELD, JUST WAITING TO GET SNOWED! ♫"

She's just gonna sit here and float around with the Frosts. They're pretty cute!

She points to the dark-haired guy.

Riku's been on his way home when he stumbled over this, face becoming blanker by the minute as he just... stood. And watched. And tried to find the words to describe... whatever is going on. Because seriously, those outfits. And the constant singing.

Clearly this can only be described in a song of his own.

...Well at least both Terra and Aqua seem to have retained their sanity (not gone into fear-mode or anything either). Thanks the light for small blessings.

He had been expecting to be called out once the song number was over; he hadn't been expecting Riku, but that meant that he and Aqua weren't the only ones baffled by this. That's... reassuring.

He shrugs. "I couldn't think of another spell I could use that wouldn't hurt her as well." It's a pity that the spell hadn't snapped them out of it, but at least no kids or Jack Frosts were harmed by what could've been something much worse than an anti-gravity field.

He nods after a moment, frowning as he goes through his own spells, then hesitates a moment before he speaks up - he can do without breaking into another song, thanks.

"...I could try casting Sleepga on them."

That would at least buy them some time to figure out what's going on here. Hopefully.

"Hey hey! Babes, our only crime was singing!"

"All I'm doin' is helping the Jack Frost bring the Snowy Winter Cheer to all the city! We didn't harm anyone at all!"

There was a groan then, coming from where Yu had ended up faceplanted on the ground after Aqua's attack. The Pyro Jacks had been sure to protect him from over enthusiastic snow blowing... so where he was was literally the only patch of dry land left. He sat back on his knees, gingerly reaching up to check if his nose was still okay.

"...there weren't any injuries until you attacked," he pointed out.

...also True.

And they weren't the only ones. She had stood between him and Terra when it looked like he was beginning to see red like she had when she panicked. Something she felt incredibly bad for, even if they weren't in their right minds.

"...I'm sorry about that," Aqua muttered, inwardly cringing as she did so. However, she lifted her blade up once more, a green mist and petals falling over most of them. ...Sorry Eikichi, you're a bit too far away for this spell. Funny, how it feels like a Mediarahan.

"I just have a problem with people being too close..."

Ever since that last day she saw the sun back home. Anything that had gotten close to her without warning after that normally meant danger, okay? It's... hard to overcome that.

She repeated the spell after taking a few steps away, healing the others from her and her brother's derp, though at least he was learning not to use Earth spells right off the bat...

This friendly bonding was nice, but Vanellope's still confused despite how well she's taken this crazy turn of events. She has no problems singing about that either.

4. Don't know the score, who won? Who lost this weather war? ♫"

"Do be fair babe, I'd have done the same thing if he'd started dancing under me," Eikichi added, upside down, arms crossed. Well, it wasn't like his hair did much moving since it already pointed to the sky when he was standing normally.

"Anyway, I believe the Thirteenth Hour is close to being done! And that means the Frosts have to go to bed...think I'll join 'em in a beauty sleep! Tomorrow is another day, after all! And there's much more frosting to be done!"

The way he was saying this as if this was perfectly normal was the strangest thing.
