It was a little warmer, and Kaito was feeling less sick, so clearly this was his chance to go outside and get some fresh air. Yes.

This was clearly the best time to window shop in the Cancer district instead of going to, let's say, somewhere more outdoorsy. Like a park. How about it, Kaito? Feel like going to a park?

...No? Just going to press your face against the glass and stare at all the cool shit?

"Mm..." He'll take half a pause to consider that. "Maybe I've just lived there too long. I think... in a lot of ways, I'm starting to like this place a little better. Except, people keep saying there's demons that get into the city."

Hasn't seen any yet. Eyes have been too busy looking into the shops; one could've walked right by him, for most of the day, and he wouldn't have realized.

"Oh, haha, yeah, they're not a huge deal though, if you know how to handle them."

He said as he gripped his phone a little too tightly.

"Oh. ....how do you handle them?"

He didn't quite get the memo, whoops.

"With something a friend of mine made. Wanna see?"

"Sure." He's not sure what to expect, but why not. Could be great to know, right? Right! And he is such a chicken.

"Okay!" And again, he opened his phone. "This, uh, isn't normally in phones, but watch this." And with the press of a few buttons, the air next to him wavered, and a fairy woman in a green dress appeared.

"This is Titania! She's a type of demon. Not all demons are bad, see. It's just a general term for spirits and stuff. Titania's a Fairy."

"I'm the Fairy Queen, dear."

Psssh, whatever.

Staring at her a second... closing his mouth now. But his eyes are a little wide, looking her over with obvious curiosity.

"So you-- that thing-- calls your friends, and they come?" Looking to Titania. "You can teleport?"

So many questions to ask. So many he can't hardly brain them all right now.

"And... if demons aren't--"

Paaaaaaause. This is still sinking in... but at least he does seem to be getting it, about demons and stuff here?

"....so it is much like in Nosgoth, after all."

"Um, well no, I can't teleport." Any...more, at least. Titania, for her part, merely chuckled.

"Friends is a stretch. We're bound by contracts with humans, you see."

"Right. That's what the app does. It takes all of the guesswork out of forming contracts."

"So you don't-- I mean... your kind of... demon...?" He seemed a little hesitant to use the word to describe her, lowering his head just a hint, as though in apology or something. "...they're not... I mean...."

This would probably work better if he could manage to collect his thoughts on the matter before he opened his mouth, wouldn't it.

"Maybe there's a lot more that I still don't get, yet. ....Sorry."

Have a sheepish look. At least he knows when he's lost?

"Well, some demons will help you out if they feel like it and they like you, but that's not really...normal." He shrugged. It was what it was, with the whole 'forming contracts with demons' thing.

"...Very different from what I'm used to."

He was quiet just a second or so, considering it, and then shook his head, still not sure. "In the Citadel... like I said, it's just mostly my clan and the humans now, and we live together. And the guards and hunters are mostly human... my clan's ranks are an extension of them. My brothers do what they can to make sure the rest of the clan is of the best who're willing, mostly. It's just us, against... nearly everyone else in Nosgoth.

"And I know there's one Turelim that joined us, but he's pretty much the lone exception to the rule. We don't have those sorts of contracts and alliances like that. I've never really heard of such a thing before."

"Neither have I, until recently. Apparently it's been a thing for awhile! I dunno much about it, myself." He said this as he de-summoned Titania by pressing a couple of buttons, the demonstration over.

"So... how do you get something like that, and for other demons to come, to help?" He gestured to Kaito's phone.
