Ferrus, Kais and Garviel go to Mictlan
Where: Mictlan
When: The 13th hour
Warnings: HERESY AND VIOLENCE.
Garviel has decided to introduce the techpriest to the xenos-breed, mostly by bringing him along on one of the semi-nightly expeditions to Mictlan. He'll grumble at him as they go, "I know you won't like this, but there's a Xenos from our world here, and he understands how dangerous chaos and Daemons are, so he's somewhat useful. Be on your guard, however. I do not trust him."
And in short order, as they walk along, they'll reach where Kais and he normally meet, and Garviel begins to wait for him, or his drone, whichever is liable to come first.

You don't say no to a space marine.
The news about meeting an xeno is not, exactly, the best news. Living in the Imperium has tinted Ferrus's view of them, and so he's not exactly ecstatic to meet Kais. (Garviel would get a nod and a "yes sir" when he was told to be on guard - a lesson he knew very well, from his time in the Imperium. Although, he was slightly surprised Garvi hadn't gunned the guy down where he stood. Maybe that spoke to his character? Ferrus didn't know.)
Ferrus privately thanked the Emperor that the space marine introduced him to the xeno. (It was mildly surprising, to Ferrus. The drone... it looked interesting. The rifle, as well. Was he using it like Frak had mirrors, before? Interesting functions all around.)
He just nodded at what Garviel said - that was, indeed, an accuriate summary. "And who are you?" His voice was carefully controlled - thank the Emperor for willpower. His body language was controlled, as well - tense, but not cowering. He wouldn't go for that in front of an xeno.
Hm. Was it rude to ask xenos for their names? Was it even remotely important? Shrug. Kais had gotten his name, so he'd get Kais'.

"Shas'la T'au Kais. If you must, call me 'La Kais."
Though he tends to answer to xeno far too much for his own comfort. That kind of reaction spawned from too much time listening to Captain Ardias and spending time with this...gue'la.
"You are one of those machine worshipers." The same weird group of people he expelled from the engine room of one of the Tau ships. Kais was already suspicious, that same feeling backed by the propaganda he was stuffed with during his training.
Probably more surprising was the fact that he could speak human speak fairly well. Subconscious implanting of knowledge was very useful at times.
by this point it's just gonna be a free for all you guys...
"Okay." He replies to the other's name, privately bookmarking both names in his memory - personally, he'd probably shorten it to Kais if he couldn't say the entire thing, but he was confident his voxes, at least, could produce it. He was fairly sure the namescheme there was Tau, so he was fine in guessing the other's race, but...
Welp, he sure got down to business. Ferrus could appreciate that. "Yes, I am." A short pause - he was not sure enough about what the other was to even hazard a guess. Tau, sure, but there was more then one variation of person who held a gun.
What the hell was his armor, anyway? Ferrus idly focused on that, examining it curiously without moving his head - thus, it was nigh unto impossible to tell what he was doing at all. Oh, thank god for masks.
Ferrus went unsurprised by the other's ability to speak human, if only for the fact he wasn't familiar with the fact the other spoke a different language at all. Apologies, Kais. He's mostly uninformed about the Tau. Whether that's poor research or his Inquisitor's fault is anyone's guess.
(He'd probably expected less if it was just an xeno, and not an xeno Garviel hadn't gunned down on sight.)

He racks the bolter pointedly, and gestures towards Mictlan.
"Come on."

No, that wasn't a concern. Kais was sure he could fight anyone off, including the hulking Astartes.
"Fine."
He tilted his rifle a little and flipped the safety, the whine of power charging in place of the mechanical sounds that Garviel's bolter made.

(However, he also had the same self-rebuttal. He'd brought his bolt pistol along, after all. And he might be able to overload Kais' gun, if it didn't have the proper safeties...)
"Okay."
He would produce his automatics from his belt, ready as he'd ever be.
Let's do this.

"Are any of these creatures difficult to fight?"
no subject
That was... a reasonable question. Do you have an opinion there, Garviel?

He doesn't mention you can also kill them with Persona attacks because that would be HERETICAL SORCERY.

He hefts his gun slightly, as if to emphasize it.
"As the machine worshiper is not aware, my race has perfected plasma technology so do not be afraid."
He's fully aware that human plasma weapons have a nasty tendency to blow every so often. And he's absolutely smug about it.

He's at least good enough to ask, thanks."Right." At the both of them. SHORT, CONCISE, TO THE POINT
LET'S JUST GET THIS OVER WITH.
He has his grenades and electrical energy if he needs it. He can also levitate if he needs to.
(Suck it, Kais.)
