Summary: 1/16-1/22. Days of non-stop shooting and Persona battles! Players decide when the fight takes place.

Grand Prix Frenzy had overtaken the city by this point.

We're sorry, you weren't technically part of the main show. However, perhaps, should this go well, they might be able to get you into the giant tournament itself next year!What can they say, the show must go on. And the ratings must be high.

The entire place was filled with cheering spectators and for those who missed out, the usual channels were going to post the entire thing live. Pay-per-view had extra shows and cameras. Or you could go to your local pub. Now that the main show was put on hold, they had all come to see one thing: and it was to see how these newcomers from otherworlds fared in their favorite sport. In a way it was showing the natural pride to them, and watching how they did at it.

Gambling wasn't allowed publicly. So naturally it flourished underground. Odds today were 1:1 for nearly everyone, those looking to make a lot of money were simply out of luck. Today was a day for watching.

From the side ring "Jay Queen" and "Bob Sternhammer", the two ringside announcer, excitedly begin the pre-game talk.

"What a crowd today Jay! You can feel and hear the energy coming right off of 'em!"

"A stadium of Ten Thousand filled to the brim! At the tenth anniversary, this promises to be a Grand Prix unlike any other!"

"Can't blame 'em. Hell, if I wasn't announcing this, I'd be ringside looking at the newcomers. For those watching at home, we're gonna remind you of the few ground rules."

"Tonight's matches are part of the main tournament, Outerworlders division. No returning champions, in fact, if you look to the left there, you'll see Flamin' HellDragon waving next to Seaside Dragoon. Last year's reigning champ, and the sexy female newcomer? Oh I can just smell the steaming flames of passion raising!"

"Haha and a kiss in public! Can you hear the crowd echoing their approval! At this stage they might take away from the real event!"

"Names are drawn based on known skill. Randomization is under the supervision of the Hinoto-Ri Lotto Society."

"Contestants pick their own Evoker ten minutes before the duel, and are asked to fire a blank shot in the air to insure security before it is scanned. Contestants then are brought into their isolation zones and are kept there until they are ready to be brought up to the ring. Since this is a double dual championship, contestants are brought together a full two hours before the tournament begins, and then will get to meet their opponents behind a locked bar twenty minutes before the show begins."

"Turns are taken, each allowed only one command from their Personas."

"As usual, Instant Death Spells are forbidden of usage. You may not kill your opponent. If your opponent is knocked unconscious, they have five seconds to get up. You are only allowed to attack your opponents Persona, even with your weapons and skills."

"Oh! Looks like the national anthem's gonna start."

There was some singing, as everyone stood up. After, the shouts became louder and louder, as a single man dressed in a tuxedo walked in, grabbing a futuristic microphone and speaking in it.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THE GRAND PRIX TOURNAMENT IS PROUD TO PRESENT THE OTHERWORLDER'S DIVISION! A SERIES OF BATTLES WITH STRICT SET OF RULES TO SHOWCASE THE NATRUAL ABILITY OF HINOTO-RI'S HEROES!" Dramatically, he leaned in closer, raising his hand as the crowd's enthusiasm broke into an even louder frenzy.

"LeeeeeET'S GET IT oooooooooON!"

The crowed cheered, as a series of fireworks and music tore off into the sky.


"This is Bob and Jay live from the Outerworld Demo Tournament! !"

It's all too... convenient. [She remembers hearing a lot of whispers back at school about Minato from girls of all grades.

She gives Minako a side-long look and a sly smile.] ...You didn't give them suggestions, did you?

[She can't help but sigh. Girls thought that he was such a 'stud' back then, and other boys were jealous, but it wasn't to this degree. That magazine probably didn't help.]

I wouldn't mind the girls back home. Even if the only reason for their attendance at his bouts were to watch him, at least it helped for school spirit and unity.

[She sighs and lowers her gaze.] In this case, everyone's watching just because of that article.

Now why would you think that, Senpai? Does that mean he really is a playboy? I don't have any way of knowing that.

[she didn't do it, but she's not exactly trying to be very convincing about it.]

I-I... no, he isn't. But...

[She can't help but flush a little bit, even when it's not about herself.]

I've heard whispers back at the school. While not a playboy, he is... a little popular.

[She has to laugh, in a good-natured way.] It doesn't really surprise me. He's too nice... He probably lead girls on without meaning to.

[And she's pretty sure some of the girls she knew would have been among those interested in him. Like Yuko...]

[She gives a laugh.] I will Mr. Guybrush! They're not gonna believe this.

He is quiet for several moments, thinking about what he knows about this place, what he doesn't know and things like what he knows about Philemon and personas in general. He finds himself thinking back to conversations with Elizabeth about these very subjects, but... there doesn't seem to be much point to bringing any of that in now.

We're not watching because of the article. ... maybe they'll help spirit here, at least, if not unity.

Not again! Sasha came dangerously close to falling off the boat this time, so in the moment between attacks, she tried to scurry forward and get a better position. She changed her plan of attack, too: Atoli needed to be done away with so that she wouldn't be knocked off the boat. Once again, she summoned Phaeton, who launched a blast of fire towards Atoli. There had to be something that could be done about that barrier, though...

"Let's do that," she said, standing. "I don't think we have time for me to do it justice right now."

[A slight smile.] No. We're not, and you could be right about that. If anything, this could be considered a giant cheerleading squad.

Yes, that's probably it. [And that kindness and wanting to listen are some of the reasons she put him on the student council as well.] That kindness is a very redeeming and attractive quality.

Well, he's my brother. [Is it weird to spend a lot of time with him? Not all siblings get along so well, but that was never the case even when they were small. As far as she remembers, their fights never lasted long.

Not all siblings get along so well though. [Not that she ever experienced that, being an only child.]

It has been for the both of you. I must admit though, it's strange to not have that information on his records.

It's not really that relevant for a school record, I guess. [Unlike dead parents, which can't be hidden forever no matter what she tried. Mitsuru probably could have found it out if she'd dug a little deeper, though. Ikutsuki probably knew - no, she knows he does, because of what she'd discussed with Minami - but she doesn't want to talk about that. Or really, most of this topic.] But he's easy to get along with.

Mmm. A trait he's always had it seems, out of what I've heard from around school.

[The records issue is still something she is wary about accepting and annoyed about being left in the dark about. But, Minako looks a little sullen at the topic, so it's best not to press.]

Perhaps it's an inherited trait; he isn't the only one that is amazingly amicable.

[She means you, girl. For any girl to get nice and close to Shinji, is well, a special girl.]
