It was obviously a dangerous mission, and hidden away by the cover of the reddish tint of the 13th hour. With most of the city still focused on what had happened during the tournament and the Anoli, there was little question to the disappearing Seven and Wisemen...or if they had noticed at all.

But eventually that would readily turn into questions, and the panic and confusion that could ensue might be dangerous. Thus it was time for a little trip into the temple that once yielded no answers and see what exactly had happened...and hopefully able to stage a rescue attempt. But what did the Mictlan have for them in store, and would they be able to get in at all? It was hard to judge.

As the Visitors arrived, they were ushered into the front doors of the temple in the center of the ghost town. Most of the demons were being kept at bay, in a bid to better keep their strengths and powers.

For who knew what they might need in there...the video had cut off so many times, after all.

As the group goes onwards, the roar of the waterfalls finally gets louder and louder. By the end of the tunnel, a giant chasm is revealed light mysteriously appearing from above but with no known source. The wind is incredibly loud here, splashing everyone with drops of water like fine mist.

And yet...the minute the water touches anyone, it immediately evaporates, leaving the feeling of being flooded with water, but without the wetness.

There is a bridge. It appears you will need to cross it from one side to the other. The only problem is it appear that there are only sides to this bridge and no middle. What now?

"...Wow."

Atsuro comes to a pause as they approach the rushing waters, momentarily awed by the sight before them. The scene enveloped all of his senses - sight, sound, speech, touch... even smell as the water droplets coat his face and nose in a sheen of... liquid that instantly vanishes.

He struggles to make himself heard.

"It's too far to teleport.....! Anyone have any bright ideas?!"

"WHAT?! I DIDN'T HEAR WHAT YOU SAID!"

...oh this was going to be her favorite part of this trip, she just knew.

"WHAT?! WE SHOULD SMEAR SHUT THE DUVET?! .....HOW IS THAT GOING TO HELP? .........WHAT'S A DUVET???"

Loken shouts back to Ferrus, "BRING THE GRAPPLE FORWARD, WE CAN USE IT TO FIX A LINE AND CROSS." His amplivox will make this INCREDIBLY loud. But at least on the plus side you'll probably have a way across.

"NOT SMACK THE BUFFET, I SAID I COULDN'T HEAR YOU!" How does a guy go from said to Buffet anyway?!

...Yeaaah, you two do that while these guys continue to have deep and meaningful conversations.

Nikolai has to cover his ears momentarily from the sound and Garviel's booming voice, but a few moments later, he's holding his hand out to catch some of the water from around them, only to watch it vanish before his eyes.

"IS THIS WATER EVEN REAL?", he'll say to whomever can hear him.

Ferrus? Being useful? Heaven forbid! He's going to avoid talking - he can still hear perfectly well and wishing he'd couldn't, by this point - fuck hearing implants - and just move forwards, offering the grapnel to Garviel. You do it, man - if only because he's not 100% on how well he could aim it, in this situation.

And then move back a little.

"YEAH I GUESS YOU COULD GROW A REALLY JACKED BOUQUET HERE BUT IS NOW THE TIME TO BE TALKING ABOUT FLOWERS??"

Atsuro's solved one already guys you can figure this out without him right.

Nikolai might have felt something odd rest against his palm- almost like a child had held his hand, even if only for a moment, before the sensation evaporated like the moisture.

Something was here, besides the crashing sound of the water. It was only a matter of spotting it, if you want to.

Anyone looking Nik's way would see him look momentarily confused, as he flexed his outstretched hand. He certainly felt something, but what?

"What was..."

His voice was probably lost amongst the rush of water, but he began to look around him to see if he could catch a glimpse of what that might have been, though he's not sure what he was looking for.

In the meantime, Garviel is hurling the grapnel and attempting to find purchase on the bridge, basically trying to hook his way across the thing and fix it there with his absurd strength.

"Find something?"

Although the roaring waterfalls were doing murder on Kazuya's sensitive hearing, he didn't need to hear to see Nikolai's sudden confusion and movements to look around him. So the Demon King had handily appeared at his shoulder, raising his voice as loudly as possible to be heard by him.

I.e sorry Nik, Kazuya just shouted right down your ear.

Nik jumped ever so slightly when he heard someone right up next to him like that. He shakes he his head, though, and speaks loud enough for Kazuya to hopefully hear him. "Felt something. Like someone grabbed my hand."

"Grab your hand...?"

Hm, what did this guy do? Held his hand out and... uhhh.. Kazuya held out his hand, feeling a bit stupid. "Hello, Mr. Ghost?"

"WHY ARE WE LOOKING FOR TOAST??"

Atsuro is apparently trying his darndest to make up for his earlier competence by being as useless as possible. Alternatively, his grin might suggest that he's being a bit facetious as he turns towards his best friend.

Nothing touched Kazuya's hand, for better or worse, though the mist that landed on it seemed more actual than what was in the rest of the room.

"Is ᴛʜɪs ᴡʜᴀᴛ ʏᴏᴜ ᴅᴇsɪʀᴇ?"

For such a hushed voice, the childlike tone seemed to reach the ears of whoever was paying attention. Across the cavern, there was a sort of glimmer; as it gradually intensified, the cause was realized.

The missing group's strings were sparkling among the room's mist and haze. Even those without Destiny Strings could see them, at least for a short while.

"Yᴏᴜ'ᴅ ʙᴇᴛᴛᴇʀ ʜᴜʀʀʏ...ᴛʜᴇ ᴅᴏᴏʀ ᴡɪʟʟ ᴄʟᴏsᴇ sᴏᴏɴ."

The voice's tone and childlike laugh indicated that this was probably a bad thing.

Nikolai stares at glimmering figure with a serious expression. This doesn't look good at all. He watched the Strings, seeing them at all for the first time ever.

He figured he wasn't going to get an answer, but it was worth shouting out to the mysterious visitor. "Did you have something to do with them disappearing?"

"Atsuro I can HEAR YOU JUST FINE WITHOUT THE SHOUTING!!"

Jesus fucking Christ on a cracker Kazuya was going to be deaf by the time they got over this bridge. He was drawn from his scowling at the hushed voice, and he jumped a little, rubbing at his ear. It sounded like Spooky was whispering right into his damned ear. Creepy.

"Hopefully not... not looking forward to a space octopus fight here."

"I wasn't pouting!"

Atsuro pouts.

"...Now I'm pouting. ...What are the two of you doing, anyway?"
