The Search for the Newcomers, Feburary 2013 Edition.

New Arrivals

Who: Open to Everyone, but only Newly Accepted Characters can start threads.
Where: All around the city! They appear where you want them to appear.
Summary: Newcomers arrive and by now the Government is more ready and sends everyone out to go people hunting.
Warnings: ARRIVALS. Also assume the first thread is the ones who tell you about the city, and the other tags for the character can be talking with others in the city and learning more about it.

[FOR THOSE IN THE CITY:]
There was still so much cleanup to do. What a perfect time for your HORUS detection systems to start warning you that another group of people were forthcoming.

The device allowed everyone to spot abnormalities; and while it was being re-tuned to work with the appearing buildings, they could hone in on newcomers at a much faster pace. The leftover energy from the travel (commonly called Magatama Residue) gave them a few minutes to find them before it would flicker out.

Combined with the fact they could appear in most parts of the city, it made finding the newcomers was both easy yet frustratingly difficult.

As the blips appear on your own radar function, it was also nice enough to calculate for you the best transport and destination routes to take to get there. Speed was of the essence, after all.

[FOR THOSE WHO JUST ARRIVED:]
You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[OOC: As stated above, only new characters can start a thread, but feel free to jump in any of them. characters arrive with their clothing and whatever items they had on them the moment they were taken; the remaining items will be later found in their apartments.]

Huh? Um, yes, I am.

[He pulls out his badge.]

What's up? You need my help with something?

Yes!

What is this city I am in and what are our current time coordinates?

[ In English, what hour is it. ]
second_destiny: (Uh okay?)

[personal profile] second_destiny 2013-02-09 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Um. The city...is Hinoto-Ri. Time coordinates, um...it's...February 7. We...don't know what the year is here, though.

February 7!!!

[ Cue walking in circle all around. ]

Great Scott!!

Unless the calendars are different here this means an entire month of my life has just vanished without any explanation!
second_destiny: (Uh okay?)

[personal profile] second_destiny 2013-02-09 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Um. That's, uh. Pretty normal. It's more like...I dunno, traveling through both space and time to show up here, I guess.
doc_brown: ([023])

[personal profile] doc_brown 2013-02-12 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes yes, but that's not it! There is-

[ He pauses and stops, sighing only ]

My apologize, I believe I may have let the situation get at me and destroy all rationality within me! You are absolutely correct, unless we somehow can prove that the tower's and this world's time axis are perfectly synchronized this is absolutely normal!
second_destiny: (Uh okay?)

It's okay. You're actually taking this a lot better than most of the people that come here. I usually have to explain how this is a different world and everything, but it sounds like you're used to this kind of thing.

I am, I unfortunately am!

I were resident of the Tower of Animus, believe me a dreaded place you do not want to live in. Worse, those in charges and the residents had this bad habit to entirely disrespect the laws of physics!

{ Hear magic, he still can't get used to that. ]

[Asem scratches his cheek at that. He probably wasn't going to like what he had to say next.]

The people here don't always obey the laws of physics, either. In fact, there's all kinds of supernatural stuff going on, both with the people and with the city.

[ Great Scott, more science offenders. He sighs and shakes his head. ]

I wish this would surprise me, but unfortunately these are things I appear to be unable to escape! All we can hope to do is rationalize these and explain how it is possible through science!
second_destiny: (Uh okay?)

[personal profile] second_destiny 2013-02-15 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not even sure how you'd do that. Something like the Law of Conservation of Mass is kind of hard to explain when it gets utterly broken.
doc_brown: ([072])

"I do not think they are broken young man, but they give the illusion to be! Matters cannot just disappear out of thin air." he stated "Take a look at us. From the viewpoint of the people in our homeworld, we disappeared, but in fact we are very much alive, our mass conserved here- With whatever disastrous consequences it can bring!"

...Oh. Yeah. That's a good point. You'd think that kind of thing would occur to a pilot. Especially with some of the training pilots go through.
