The Search for the Newcomers, Feburary 2013 Edition.

New Arrivals

Who: Open to Everyone, but only Newly Accepted Characters can start threads.
Where: All around the city! They appear where you want them to appear.
Summary: Newcomers arrive and by now the Government is more ready and sends everyone out to go people hunting.
Warnings: ARRIVALS. Also assume the first thread is the ones who tell you about the city, and the other tags for the character can be talking with others in the city and learning more about it.

[FOR THOSE IN THE CITY:]
There was still so much cleanup to do. What a perfect time for your HORUS detection systems to start warning you that another group of people were forthcoming.

The device allowed everyone to spot abnormalities; and while it was being re-tuned to work with the appearing buildings, they could hone in on newcomers at a much faster pace. The leftover energy from the travel (commonly called Magatama Residue) gave them a few minutes to find them before it would flicker out.

Combined with the fact they could appear in most parts of the city, it made finding the newcomers was both easy yet frustratingly difficult.

As the blips appear on your own radar function, it was also nice enough to calculate for you the best transport and destination routes to take to get there. Speed was of the essence, after all.

[FOR THOSE WHO JUST ARRIVED:]
You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[OOC: As stated above, only new characters can start a thread, but feel free to jump in any of them. characters arrive with their clothing and whatever items they had on them the moment they were taken; the remaining items will be later found in their apartments.]

Yamato scrambled to obey, rolling off of his sister, and then onto his back as he reached down to frantically try to yank up his trousers. It probably looked ridiculous, but he was not flashing his underwear for everyone to see.

"That was your own fault!"
capitalbackup: (You dare go against him)

[personal profile] capitalbackup 2013-02-10 11:22 am (UTC)(link)
If she's in any state to think normally, Miyako would accepted that and back off. But no, she's still too angry and annoyed.

Once Yamato rolled off her, Miyako quickly sat up and glared at him.

"And whose fault was it for running away?"

If he stayed there instead of running, she wouldn't think of pulling his pants. The past was now the past.
drakenguard: (peasant)

[personal profile] drakenguard 2013-02-10 11:43 am (UTC)(link)
"You are the one that advanced menacingly on me!"

Yamato finally managed to wrench up his trousers, even taking the time to hurriedly tighten his belt to ensure that they wouldn't be pulled down any easier next time. With that he sat up properly, his hair ruffled and face a faint red.

"I have no idea what I have even done to deserve your ire."
capitalbackup: (You dare go against him)

[personal profile] capitalbackup 2013-02-10 11:53 am (UTC)(link)
"You have no idea?"

What a thing to say. Miyako knew her brother would rarely lie to her, so to hear that from him just irked her. Did that blow affected his memories? No, it's too early to make that assumption.

"Are you saying you have no idea what you've done?"
drakenguard: (excuse me?)

[personal profile] drakenguard 2013-02-10 11:56 am (UTC)(link)
"None!"

Besides, he has been here for about, oh, five months! Although he prided himself on a flawless memory, not even he could remember every minute thing he had done in his past life!

...unless she came from a different timeline...

"Ah, sister, perhaps there has been a misunderstanding..."
capitalbackup: (Right...)

[personal profile] capitalbackup 2013-02-11 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
"...Explain, brother."

Miyako was giving Yamato one chance to not blow this. If it's insufficient, she would...resume punishing him.

A sparring session sounded rather tempting at the moment.

"This world brings people from other universes - and sometimes from different timelines within those universes," Yamato said, slowly climbing to his feet. He brushed himself down, trying to regain what dignity he had discarded when fleeing for his life.

"This may sound strange, sister, but, what was the name of the one with the rabbit hood?" This was such a good test. He wondered why Kaito's name was so different in multiple universes? Hm...
capitalbackup: (Glance)

[personal profile] capitalbackup 2013-02-13 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
That would mean Yamato would be from an entirely different timeline from her. That would explained why he didn't seem to know why she's angry.

"Hibiki Kuze."

It was a strange question, but she answered it after a brief moment. Out of all the civilians working with JP's, he's the one who caught both of their notice. Especially Yamato's.

"...I take it you know him by a different name."
drakenguard: (no fucks)

[personal profile] drakenguard 2013-02-13 12:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yes, I knew him by Hiro Kageyama, but here, he is known as Kaito Watari. It seemed his parents were on the fence regarding his name, haha..."

Yamato relaxed a bit now that he ensured no punishment would fall on his head, and glanced at his sister curiously. "What was it my alternative self did to make you so angry?"
capitalbackup: (His shadow)

[personal profile] capitalbackup 2013-02-13 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a slight smile, before it's gone when Yamato asked that question.

"...After our defeat, he tried to overload the terminal to prevent them from advancing to Polaris. That heretic attacked in order to stop him...and he pushed me out of the way."

She wasn't expecting it. Being attacked by Alcor, yes. But pushed out of the way by her brother, implying that her life has more worth than his?

Combined with her anger and disappointment in herself in losing, as well as her wet arrival, Miyako was really angry.
drakenguard: (looking down)

[personal profile] drakenguard 2013-02-14 12:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"..."

So Miyako was from a variation of Kaito's world, huh? He was guessing, in any case, as they had made no mention of Miyako when confronting him, and he would have thought that questioning the existence of his sister would have arisen at some point - or at the very least, a passing remark.

Damn it, did he die in every timeline of their world? This was beginning to get depressing.

"I see. I won't lie... I, have died in my world," Yamato admitted after a pause, "More out of a miscalculation than a noble sacrifice, though."

He was wondering why his other self saved Miyako. She was his twin sister, yes, but their lives were equal in his eyes - but from what he had gathered, his mental state during the battle against Alcor was less than stellar at the time.
capitalbackup: (To live is to...)

[personal profile] capitalbackup 2013-02-15 12:15 pm (UTC)(link)
After they split into teams, Miyako would have no more reason to hide. Yet, in those timelines, it was as if she never existed. Did she die, or was never born?

"...Miscalculation?"

Miyako was well aware of how utterly pissed Yamato was about the situation back home. She didn't have any emotional attachment to the boy with the rabbit eared hood, but everything related to Alcor? Alcor, she understood well enough. But she managed to keep him somewhat calm...until they, advocators of meritocracy, lost the battle.

She wondered how Yamato died in his own timeline, and whether it's any better than his death in her timeline.
drakenguard: (small smile)

[personal profile] drakenguard 2013-02-15 12:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"I lost my head a little," Yamato said. An understatement. Yamato fully admitted that he had plunged into full blown temporary insanity for that battle (he was not proud of his deranged idea that killing Hiro's friends would make him see the light, if only because of how stupid it was), and his death was, well, his own fault.

"To keep it brief, I channelled the Dragon Stream at the base of Tsuutenkaku to amplify my own abilities. I lost, and also used up too much of the Dragon Stream. The tower fell and I was caught beneath it." Yamato laughed wrly, "I died through bisection. It is as gruesome as it sounds."
capitalbackup: (Glance)

[personal profile] capitalbackup 2013-02-17 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
It's an understatement, and both of them knew that.

"The tower's structure must have been made unstable by your use of the Dragon Stream." It's a reasonable assumption. From what she can tell, Yamato most likely did it during a battle. "Compared to your suicidal jump, that sounds quite gruesome."

Hah.
drakenguard: (mildly disgruntled)

[personal profile] drakenguard 2013-02-18 11:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Suicide jump...? Ah..." Yamato heaved a great sigh. "It seems I did that as well in Kaito and the others' world. I am beginning to wonder if I live in any of the timelines."
capitalbackup: (Right...)

[personal profile] capitalbackup 2013-02-20 09:24 am (UTC)(link)
"If you do live in those timelines, the circumstances would be different."

As in situations where Yamato's breakdown didn't happen, or regain his senses in time.

But there was also another matter Miyako must know.

"...Yamato." She looked at him, calmly and with a small frown. "In your timeline, where am I?"
drakenguard: (Default)

[personal profile] drakenguard 2013-02-20 11:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Conducting your usual duties," Yamato said, lifting his shoulders into a shrug. "The plan was that if I fell in battle against Hiro and the rest, you were to take over JP's and attempt to maintain our ideals even within an egalitarian world." Even though they knew it would be an effort in futility due to the brainwashing everyone would have gone through.
capitalbackup: (To live is to...)

[personal profile] capitalbackup 2013-02-21 11:13 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps, there's a chance to maintain their ideals against Polaris's powers in his world. But Miyako knew it's a very slim chance, to the point where it's practically impossible.

But such a thought didn't deter her. If Miyako knew herself, she would still try to resist, long enough to plan and find a way to install their ideal of meritocracy.

Or perhaps attacking Hibiki...no, Hiro Kageyama and his group after Yamato's death. The idea crossed her mind for a moment. But in the end, it's all hypothetical. She's not from that timeline.

"...I'm certain I will make sure our ideals will be upheld." Even in such a stagnating world of egalitarianism.

Achoo.

Well, it seems like being wet and running in the cold do affect her.
drakenguard: (bland smile)

[personal profile] drakenguard 2013-02-22 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"...let us hope. But enough of that. If you no longer wish to attack me, I'll take you to the city hall," Yamato said, slowly getting to his feet and holding out a hand for his sister to take. "We'll need to find out where it is you're living, as well as collecting your ID card."
capitalbackup: (Glance)

[personal profile] capitalbackup 2013-02-22 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
She accepted his hand, allowing him to help her get back onto her feet. Miyako raised a brow, curiously. "Find out? Are they always so quick with arranging living quarters?"
drakenguard: (explaining)

[personal profile] drakenguard 2013-02-23 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Visitors from other worlds are common here, especially in the middle of the month," Yamato explained, beginning to walk out of the alleyway, expecting his sister to obediently follow. "They already know you have arrived, no doubt."
capitalbackup: (To live is to...)

[personal profile] capitalbackup 2013-02-23 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
"How nice." That would be one less hassle to deal with. Miyako followed after Yamato, glancing around once they're out of the alleyway. Because she was preoccupied during their, ah, chase, Miyako didn't memorise the layout.

"Where do Visitors usually stay at?"
drakenguard: (Default)

[personal profile] drakenguard 2013-02-23 11:11 am (UTC)(link)
"In apartment complexes in two districts; Libra or Pisces. I reside in Libra," Yamato replied, slipping his hands into his pockets. "Hopefully you'll be there as well."
capitalbackup: (Glance)

[personal profile] capitalbackup 2013-02-23 11:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Hopefully. But there is a chance that I will be given a place in Pisces." Personally, she preferred being in the same apartment as Yamato. It'd be easier to share information and make plans if they're closer.

On the other hand, there may be some benefits in living in a different apartment from him.
drakenguard: (neutral)

[personal profile] drakenguard 2013-02-28 11:53 am (UTC)(link)
"We won't know until we arrive there," Yamato said dismissively. "We will need to get you some dry clothes, while we're at it."
