Summary: Valentine's Day Shenanigans of Ridiculous Caliber

As dawn breaks on Hinoto-Ri, one might spy a strange sight throughout the city - a red and white angelic robot flying through the air, and periodically coming down once he spots an interesting group of civilians.

"Good day, citizens! My name is Cupidman, and I will be your designated deliverer of love on this fine, fine St. Valentine's Day! In such a terrible world, we all should get along better, and should do the best to ensure this is a fine place to live for your future generations! And, well - those future generations should also be ensured! So I'll just help you take that first step~!"

With that little spiel delivered, Cupidman then fires sparkling pink-and-yellow arrows into random civilians, then takes off to go find more suitable targets.

[ OOC: As mentioned in the mod post, this is a mostly silly opt-in event. Cupidman is shooting people with magic arrows that will cause their target to fall head-over-heels in love with the first person they see for a few hours. Once it wears off, they'll have a hazy memory of what went down - just enough to question if it really happened. If you like, you can start your thread as already having been shot, or leave it open to be shot - just make sure you put something in the subject line if you want interference from Cupidman. If your character is the type who would want to try and stop him from what he's doing, mention you want to challenge him in the subject, but keep in mind that he has to escape to strike again on White Day. Of course, that doesn't mean he has to escape unscathed... ]

Open for general mingling, but falling in love reserved for Raidou's hat

Natsume's taken to going on walks around the city, as he's been settling in. For the most part, the demons he encounters don't seem to want to eat him for which he is grateful, but it still seems incredibly weird to him that so many of them are visible to everyone. It's nice not to be the odd one out in that respect, but it doesn't really make meeting people and trying to figure this place out any easier (but then again, it doesn't make it harder).

Still, morning walks like this are nice. It's quiet and peaceful in most districts, and little by little he's getting a feel for this city. And this morning in particular, despite the unexpected surprise of chocolates on his doorstep, nothing seems to be going wrong! Just a nice - if a bit chilly - day to wander about.

That is.... until he sees something fly overhead, hears a twang and suddenly --

"Ow! What --!"

A sharp pain stabs his shoulder, and he stumbles forward before reaching over to pull a sparkling arrow out. He stares at it for a moment because seriously what the hell. However, even as he starts to look around for what shot it, he catches sight of a tall, dapper figure ahead down the sidewalk and forgets all about the arrow. It slides from his fingertips, as his breath catches in his throat and he stares at the glorious hat and cape of one Raidou Kuzonoha.

If the case of the missing people wasn't enough, of course Raidou got saddled with the case of Cupidman. After all, he was the Raidou with the Persona and had more to do around Hinoto-Ri, unlike his mirror twin.

He's incredibly focused on his job, but that doesn't mean he doesn't hear the cry of pain or notice that he's being stared at. He approaches him with the intent to collect the arrow nearby as evidence and make sure the person is okay, because there's no telling what will happen.

"Excuse me. Are you well?"

Aaah! Senpai noticed him!

"I, uh..." Natsume doesn't mean to stutter over his words, nor does he mean to blush when addressed, but that's just what he winds up doing all the same. He tries to look away in some sort of deference or politeness or just -- to do something other than gape, but he finds himself transfixed by Raidou's eyes and the way his hat brim casts a perfect shadow over him. But then, at last, he gets a slight grip on himself and quickly ducks his head, as if trying to hide behind his bangs. "I'm - I'm fine. S-sorry."

As Raidou doesn't know this person from Adam, he cant tell if this is an effect of those Charm arrows, or if he's just always like this. But it doesn't hurt to be certain.

"Are you sure?" It's probably a redundant question though, since he knows there's a big chance of him getting a reply in the affirmative. So he decides to follow it up. "Were you hit by an arrow?"

"Yes, I'm fine. I ... " Arrow. Arrow... He sees the arrow in Raidou's hand, now. "Um... I'm not sure."

He blushes a little deeper, certain that that's not really the sort of answer this man wants. He feels rather foolish and silly, and he's not sure why giving him the answer he seeks is so important ot him, but it is.

"Are you certain about that?" He's probably going to become a broken record before the end of this conversation, isn't he? But even though this is probably getting nowhere, Raidou still has objectives to fulfill.

"Can you tell me what had happened before I approached you, then?"

"I don't know. I, um... I was just... walking. I think something hit me, maybe? I don't remember. Because then I saw you, and --"

He breaks off before he has a chance to say anything embarrassing, smiling awkwardly and still blushing a little.

He's expected as much. Well, this is a right mess and there's nothing he can do right now because apparently this isn't curable by Anti-Mind. ... Not that he has any of that on hand anyway.

Though Raidou still doesn't know the full extent of the effects of these arrows-- he doesn't know how an arrow can produce such an effect, he doesn't know how it can be cured and he sure as hell doesn't know how to keep Cupidman from affecting anyone else. Heck, he doesn't even know the full extent of the arrows' properties, which is why he has absolutely no idea as to why this person is seemingly losing his faculties in front of him.

"I think it's best you go home for now."

The idea of going away and leaving this man seems most unappealing, and Natsume is pretty sure he'd be both safer and happier sticking right by him. Besides, maybe they can become -- something. Friends, for a start. Maybe something... else.
