♠ ♣ A Game of Chance ♥ ♦
Who: Anyone
Where: Aramid Room
Summary: You enter the Dream World and are given a key. But will you use it? (Note that your character does NOT have to come to this log, the dream only happens for characters you want to come to the Aramid room)
When: Futuredated to the 13th
Warnings: Some characters may have terrible desires. It depends who is there, but this IS the Aramid Room.
That night, you find yourself falling asleep. It does not matter if you never sleep, somehow these things always find a way, if you wish to come here. The blackest pitch and the sound of nothingness is your companions for a few tense minutes; you can try screaming out, but nothing comes from your mouth. But when all seems truly lost...
The first thing you are aware of when rousing from your slumber is the distant, muffled music of a piano.
This is the Aramid Room - or rather, your own personal room within it. The room looks pretty lavish at a glance; pretty flowers, polished furniture, silky looking bed sheets... but when you look closer, you realize those flowers are fake, the furniture is of veneer, not actual wood, and the bed sheets are nylon. It is like a tacky love hotel - hell, even the bed is shaped like a massive heart, with black and red sheets.
Resting on the bedside dresser is a plain white mask, a bowl of apples which never seems to run out, no matter how many you eat, and a small red key. The mask has a little note underneath that says "Please wear when leaving for the lounge, thank you!". There is even a bell for room service beside it - or so you presume in any case, since this place is mimicking a hotel so closely...
As for entertainment, there isn't really much. Just a small television mounted up on the wall, and its remote resting beside you on the bed. If you try the television, all that is displayed is static, except for brief moments of clarity, where it seems just commercials would play - commercials that, strangely advertised for your deepest, darkest desire, no matter how fantastical or illegal it is...
But that's if you wish to stay in the room. You might want to explore, right? If that's the case, all you will have to do is don the white mask and leave. To your right, you will see rows of locked doors stretching infinitely down the hallway you entered into - no matter how long you walk, you'd find them all closed and impossible for you to get in. You could try knocking if you want, but who knows if someone else wants to answer. The stairs to the lower levl will be to your left.
Follow them, and enter the lounge beyond...
▼ OOC : Instructions
▶ Welcome to the Aramid Room. There are but a few instructions here:▶ Create your posts and if you want others to knock on your door, leave it open. Otherwise, have fun creating the commercials tailored to your desires!
▶ The lower level post will be coming a little while later.
▶ You do not have to play out all the request ends or beginnings. In fact it's encouraged to just use the forms (reply this month for a request, reply the next month saying the request is done) and handwave. However, the mods will be happy to do a reply, if you wish!
▶ To get a new Persona, you go to [HERE] and pick a public persona, then fill out a request [HERE]. NOTE THE EXTRA RULES AT TAKING OUT A PERSONA IN THE ARAMID ROOM, THIS IS VERY IMPROTANT!! Remember, public personas only! You can request a Persona (or two if you are a previous Persona user).
▶ You can requests can only be given to Edgar this month [HERE] and remember you only get one request per month.
▶ You can interact with characters in the upper levels if you'd like, and go to each other's rooms, hang around, have a drink (what is in that drink anyway?) or just talk between yourselves.
▶ , unless they tell you their names. Even if they are un their underwear. Yes, you are allowed to use a fake name.
Open!
A screech could be heard from outside his room, and a crashing sound, and then he burst into the hallway, scrambling away from the door as quickly as he could, to... rather un-gracefully hit the wall all the way on the other side of his hall, in his mad rush to leave the place he'd woken up.
Anyone who wants to come out to that part of the hall would get to see the burd sitting on the ground, pressing his knees to his chest, wings up around him, taking deep breaths to calm back down again, casting very wary looks at the room, if he looked at it at all, rather than burying his face against his knees. He hasn't put on a mask, so he's easily enough recognizable; he didn't stay in the room long enough to realize there was a mask, or that he ought to put it on in the first place.
The room's door was still wide open. Inside, it was already a mess. The bedspread had nearly been torn from the bed in his mad scramble to get off it, and his wings' flapping in doing so had upset the table. The bowl of apples, the key, the mask and its note, the remote control, everything had been dashed to the ground. It was probably a miracle that neither the glass bowl or ceramic mask had broken.
He had, however, stepped on the remote and turned the TV on. Should anyone look, it was quiet, showing images of a man being killed in disgustingly torturous ways, torn apart, beheaded, strangled, impaled, the list went on. Someone really hated that guy, apparently. In between those scenes, now and then, were images of someone else -- someone with long, curly gold hair, either as a peacefully, relatively neatly dead, skinny little androgynous teenager... or a similar someone, but clearly alive, a grown, obviously adult man, relaxing, hanging out in a pool or a tub or wherever that was, having a good time.
Feel free to WTF at him there in the hall, if you'd like. That screech probably managed to be heard from the other rooms, if that's what roused your interest.

He stopped at one, trying the knob, but found it to be locked, so he'd be fiddling with the lock by the time a blue... winged... something came screaming out of one of the rooms.
"H-hey! Are you alright?" He heard something similar to tearing flesh coming from the television in the room the winged person had sprung from, prompting him to cast a wary look at the source.
Indeed, there was some kind of gruesome torture being shown. In comparison, his own television was quite tame. "Ah... do you want me to turn that off for you?"
no subject
He tucked his head down a bit lower, hiding his face briefly, trying to calm down. It wasn't working very well; he still had the hiccups, and his wings' feathers weren't settling any time too soon. If he heard the quiet sound of the TV in the room, he wasn't giving any indication of it. As he said, he didn't care.
"I don't even know how I got here...."
no subject
He turned back to the open doorway, going inside, stepping carefully over everything strewn messily over the floor. Doing his best not to pay any mind to the horrible things going on on the television screen, he found the remote and turned it off, bathing them in merciful silence.
While his head was buried in his knees, Hinata got a closer look at the odd stranger. Blue skin? Wings?
This reminded him of a video game he played once with all the vampires and warrior priests."Well, there has to be a way out, right?" He asks suddenly, crouching down beside the winged person, reaching up to adjust his mask. "This hallway can't possibly go on forever... Maybe some fresh air would help!"
He's still convinced that it's a dream, his own panic will set in later on.

Once standing, and at a human's height, despite the length of his legs, he looked down the hall both ways. Funny, if it weren't for his coloration and otherwise clearly not being human, he actually looked quite a bit like the younger blonde figure shown on the TV in that room.
Ah, coincidences.
"Perhaps the stairs?" When one direction was a seemingly endless hall of doorways, and the other looked as though it should lead to a lower level, he was going to want to try the latter first.
no subject
His dreams didn't usually get quite this surreal, maybe it was something he ate.
"Ah..." He was kind of at a loss. After a moment, he realized he was staring, spinning around to face the stairs. "Right! This way!" And he was marching off down the hall like a man on a mission.
((ooc: I'll just carry it over to your lounge thread if that's alright with you!))
no subject
((yep.))

"Aa-aah, Avitus! Wait, wait! It's alright, stop! Shh, shh..." And she comes to kneel beside him, unaware that he wouldn't be able to recognize her. She'd just be a woman with short-cropped hair, wearing a bodysuit, all other distinguishing features smoothed over and obscured.
no subject
"Where is this?"
no subject
Tachikoma practically bounds over to say hello to her friend but the smile fades as she realizes that Avitus is clearly upset about something, soon replaced with a look of concern.]
Um...hello? Are you okay? Is there something I can do to help?
no subject
"I want to leave," he managed. "I didn't want to wake up here in the first place!"
He wipes his eyes before peeking up -- oh hey, a friendly face! -- and hiccuping again. "I don't know how I got here... or where this is. Do you?" Still working on calming down, but at least he's starting to manage better than not?
no subject
Actually no, I'm not sure where this is either. I was about to ask you if you knew what this place was...
I haven't found an exit yet, but I'm sure there is one, or we might be able to find someone who knows the way out. Do you want to go look when you're feeling better?
no subject
*quiet another pause, eyes closed, forcing himself to calm down and take another deep breath, interrupted as it was with another hiccup. He tried looking up again, and paused, staring in through the room's open door at the TV, finally noticing it. That... wasn't static it was displaying, there.*
*.....he's just going to stare at it now, eyes wide, but expression otherwise unreadable. At least it seems to be distracting him? Hiccups aside, he seems to've completely forgotten about his crying fit....*
((whoops, style. *fixes own* Sorry!))
no subject
[She looked at Avitus for a response when she notices he's looking at something back in his room. She leans to the side slightly to see through the doorway what he's looking at and sees the TV.]
Oh, you got a movie on your TV? I could only get sound on mine.
...Is that suppose to be some type of documentary about executions?
no subject
*Blink blink....*
*....and looks back over to her again, realizing what she just asked.*
Oh... ah.... *Well, how would he explain this? He really wasn't sure if he could. Or if he should even try. Probably shouldn't. If she didn't recognize the people it showed, all the better!* Well, it's...
*The picture changed to that of the blond teenager again. If she was being observant, she might note that, for just a second there, the image was a close enough shot that it showed their face... and they looked suspiciously like the vampire sitting next to her. ...Coloring and ears aside, of course.*
....
*Well, it certainly rendered him speechless. He sat there, silent but for his hiccups, as the TV's images changed again, an ongoing montage of deaths for two people... and of one person enjoying themselves.*
no subject
I'm having trouble following the plot... This is a show, right? Or is this just some data that is splice together, because it keeps switching to other things...
no subject
*He probably means the TV. He hasn't exactly seen those before, but he understands, at least, from the way the images look, and that they -move-, or at least most of them do, that it's like their COMPs. Or potentially related, anyhow.*
How... can one point it at something that isn't real?
*He's doing a fair job of staying apparently somewhat calm, too! Unless that's just a side-effect of being so surprised. Because it probably is, honestly. Surprise, disbelief, delayed reaction otherwise because what in the world....*
