The Mighty Obstacle! - Taurus Optional Boss

When: 26th April, 13th Hour
Summary: Kazuya and Hitoshura, giving into demonic urges to conquer humanity for Demon Kind. Time to detain the Demon King and Hell's General before Hinoto-Ri is destroyed! Brave heroes, rise up against them and their demonic legion!
Warnings: Lots of violence, demons, and gruesome injuries.

The Gemini district was in absolute chaos.

Well, the entirety of Hinoto-Ri was in chaos - especially as the Taurus Boss had now descended upon the unlucky five of heroes - but Gemini was different. The hostile demonic population of the 13th Hour was swelling at an alarming rate there, spilling over into the neighbouring districts and attacking all those that they came across - no matter their star sign or status. It added more confusion and panic to an already dangerous situation, and those who were not occupied with defeating the crazed Earth Signs, or the bull monsters, attempted to stem the invasion of hostile demons - with varying success.

What was causing this? Was it part of the Zodiac Event? Some other 'Final Boss'?

Well...

In the midst of the chaos, Kazuya and Shura whipped up the local demon horde into a frenzy. Humanity's souls must be polished by the strains of war! Humanity must be made pure by the blaze of blood and fire! Humanity should relinquish control of the city to those born to rule - to lead - the King of Bel and Hell's General! The 13th Hour had caused their demonic side to spiral out of control, and now it seemed like they were going to mount a full on invasion onto Hinoto-Ri!

Who is willing to plunge deep into the mess of demons to face them? Who is brave enough to stand up to the dreaded Atlus Optional Bosses? Who is crazy enough to try and kick some asses?!

Well, that would be you, visitors.

THEME MUSIC!

[[OOC: Alright! It's game time! While we have five heroes dealing with the final boss, there's this optional boss fight open to those who are interested! You can fight and NPC demons, as well as fight against Shura and Kazuya! The name of the game is to detain them in any way possible, even if you have to snap their legs to do it. Don't bother being gentle. They can take whatever abuse you throw their way!

For the list of demons that will be milling about, here is a handy dandy list prepared beforehand! Refer to this when needed. I'll be NPCing some demons when required (such as for those who are GREEN for damage levels), but you're free to NPC some in your tags as well!

If Kazuya was surprised by Otoha's sudden appearance, he didn't show it, just letting out a low, roaring snarl as he lashed out with his fiery hand - only for Johnny to smash right into him. He yowled when the man's heavier weight forced him to crash into the ground, slashing his claws at whatever he could reach in his pinned down position, fighting like a trapped wildcat - claws and fangs.

It looked like Kazuya's wits had fully fled. Whereas before he had some semblance of sentience and intelligence, now he seemed more like a wild animal, lashing out at anything with wild abandon.

Otoha growled, walking up to the pile of flailing limbs. He couldn't get at Kazuya without hitting Johnny, so he just had Yatagarasu cast Tarukaja on Johnny.

The strength boost definitely helped. Some of the lighter wounds Kazuya had inflicted were already healing up, but he let some blood from his arm drop to the ground beside them before making a grab for the teen's wrist and shoulder to pin him down.

The drops of blood bubbled and smoked and two battle maids grew out of them, their gaze glassy and blank.

"Yuria, Makira, hold." The weapons at the ends of the dolls' hands came to rest around Kazuya's neck and head as Johnny had instructed, a silent threat not to move. "I'll say it again. Back down."

Kazuya snarled but he stilled, his chest heaving and eyes far too wide, fangs bared in an animal like gesture of hostility. Wild or not, there was an alien sort of cunning edging his scarlet eyes, his gaze not wavering from Johnny in the slightest.

"...give me my arm," Kazuya rasped, his voice very soft and quiet.

No worries.

Otoha considered the request for a moment before nodding.

"You can't get anything else out of it, Johnny. Unless you plan to eat it."

Okay, so he felt a little sorry for the kid.

"Like I would."

He wasn't a garbage disposal, nor was he Barry, that would just be gross.

Still, he hesitates a moment but then sighs, there really wasn't a point in keeping it from him if he was going to calm down now.

"Yuria." The blonde maid stepped away and her hands returned to normal as she went to fetch the arm as ordered; Johnny didn't trust the kid to stay put just yet. When she returned, she offered the arm to Kazuya before taking her place as guard again.

"There, now you have it back. Are you done now?"

"..."

Kazuya didn't say anything. He grasped his arm when it was returned to him, and, ignoring the blades pressing against his neck and head, shifted his weight enough to press the ragged end of the severed arm against his shoulder stump.

With a sickening, squelching crack, the arm suddenly reattached, the black blood that had been smeared there acting like a strange sort of adhesive. The skin hissed and bubbled from heat as the wound self-cauterised, and the arm looked to be attached. Immovable, but securely attached again.

Kazuya didn't move immediately after this. His face was pale, and the whites of his eyes were easily seen as he breathed shakily - before he abruptly vanished in a crackle of black energy. He appeared, as usual, only a few feet away, standing and wobbling a bit woozily.

"Mmn... not yet..." he muttered, his eyes sliding half shut as he grinned drunkenly. He lifted his good hand and snapped his fingers.

The demons that had been prowling around them, watching yet not interfering, suddenly lunged towards all three of them like a massive, writhing wave of black. Orthrus and Mothmen - it was a massive Zerg Rush of Beast demons.

Otoha watched carefully, and as the demons attacked he leaped into battle, disappearing for a moment again. When he reappeared to slice through some of them, his face was pale and his movements were a bit shaky. He wouldn't be able to do that again.

Still, he dove into the fray, fighting and slicing like a wild animal. He would not fall. He would not let Johnny or Desco fall. He had to finish this.

Johnny glared at the demons that started in on them before glancing between Kazuya and Otoha. He didn't want to be done with the teen, but Otoha definitely wasn't looking good...which was why, with only a second quick glance back, Johnny tore to Otoha's side.

The blood maids jumped into the fray as well while their master turned his sword on the demons nearest to him and his partner.

With two of his opponents battling with the unrelenting demon horde, Kazuya took that moment to take a step back and inhale deeply. His head felt like it was full of a swarm of wasps, buzzing angrily and throbbing, and he rubbed at it with a grimace. This was going poorly. What kind of Demon King was he if two lowly beings could drag him down to this disgusting state?

Right.

Kazuya lifted up his sole good arm, a small orb of crackling energy beginning to build on his palm. He'll end up wiping out a chunk of his demonic minions, but they were expendable. It wasn't a problem. Now, just a bit more, a bit more, a... bit... more...

Unknowing that the end of the 13th Hour was very very close.

He glanced over and noticed the energy building on Kazuya's palm, but thinning the herd was more important. He slashed, and stumbled, sword simply stabbing through the demon instead of the swipe he was going for.

It didn't matter. It didn't matter that the demons tore at him, only that he could kill them.

He was about out of energy, though, muscles starting to grow tense and not responding like they should.

Between the energy ball and the fact it was more and more obvious that Otoha was past his limit, Johnny was calling quits on this. It was one thing to put himself in danger, another to leave someone he cared about in it.

His body started to dissolve away into a swarm of bats, leaving the demon that was attempting to take a swipe at him to catch only air. The swarm flew through the demons and circled around Otoha, lifting him up and out of the fray and left Yuria and Makiria to distract the demons.

However, he still wasn't healed and his own energy was starting to run low with all the tricks he's been pulling, so he got the man a few yards away from the edge of the swarm and set him down before pulling himself back together-with some effort-in front of Otoha. He would be the meat shield if he had to be, he could still take it.

"Awwww! Beginning to tire out are we?"

Kazuya's tone was mocking, and it seemed that the more energy that pulsed into his palm, the greater his second wind was becoming. His arm was still immovable, but everything else was still in perfect working order - and he had a nice, large, crackling ball of white hot energy pulsing above his head. One flick of his wrist, and there'd be a special delivery of Supernova headed their wa-

The 13th Hour ended.

It was like an elastic had snapped and he stilled abruptly, the ball of energy crumbling into ash and blowing away into the wind almost immediately. Even the swarm of demons froze, sensing a sudden, dangerous turn in their master.

"..." Kazuya slowly lowered his hand, his face growing an alarming pale shade as his gaze flickered over the swarm of demons in front of him. "Wha..." he muttered.

Otoha flailed slightly at the bats picking him up, but calmed down for a moment after he realized what was going on.

... He couldn't hide it anymore, he was done. He stared blankly up at Johnny in front of him, and then -

Hm. Weird. The kid seemed to drop the confident act. The demons looked even more dangerous - it seemed like he'd lost some control over them. Otoha staggered to his feet, eying the group carefully.

He had to admit, he was a little glad he didn't have to see how his body would stand up to a blast from whatever had been building in Kazuya's palm, but he still wasn't convinced the danger had completely passed.

The 13th hour was over, that much was becoming obvious, but how much of what had just happened had been affected by that? He sensed Otoha stand behind him and he stepped back, his hand reaching for the man's wrist partly to ensure he stayed put.

"What's wrong, Kazuya, did your batteries run out?"

Kazuya's mouth worked silently for a moment. He seemed genuinely stunned, and he took a jerky step backwards, clutching at his shoulder with his good hand. The demon swarm around him started making grumbling noises, and a few were eyeing their king with considering gleams - showing weakness was never a wise idea.

"...shit. Shit, shit, I..." Panic started to set in. "I didn't- shit!"

There was a crackle of energy when he abruptly teleported - but only a few metres away. He staggered, almost tumbling to his knees, but he simply vanished again, this time somewhere out of sight.

With their king gone, the demons started shuffling about in confusion, their purpose lost, and earlier aggression gone.

Otoha didn't say anything, just looked around at the demons milling about, before collapsing to his hands and knees. He couldn't stay standing anymore. He was totally out of energy.

His eyes slipped closed, and he dropped to the ground. Time to sleep.
