Summary: This is both a Newcomer log AND a General 13th hour log

▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

 

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

The Taurus monster had come and pass, as had Golden Week. The city was rebuilding itself, and with the aid of the Visitors, progress was going swiftly.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safey, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside during the next few nights and let the city police and Visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get a little momento from home.

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[ This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts.

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too! You are, of course, not required to reply here. You can do your own independant log if you'd like!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

[Shinjiro had intended to head back to the dorms, but he finds himself lingering in the district, watching people pass him by as he nestles himself against one of the walls in one of Libra's wider alleyways. It's not as sketchy as the alleys he had become used to back home, but they keep him out of the crowd busying. And there are stray animals around the place that he feeds when he can.

The people that pass him by are of little importance to Shinjiro as they walk the afternoon away—ain't something he's going to speculate or shove his nose into—but despite his apparent lack of interest, one man does catch his attention. Maybe because he's seen him walk past him about four times now. Maybe five. It's ridiculous is what it is. It makes him frown and pull out from the alley into the sunlight until he catches the same man's form approaching again. The man looks confused enough. He's seen his share of bewildered visitors alone.

He debates whether or not to say anything when the other man gets closer, but after a few moments of debate, he holds back a sigh.]

So how many times are you gonna walk around the damn block before you figure out which way is north?

[silvercoins]

North's that way.

[He points, correctly, to north.]

But I don't have any particular interest in the poles of the Earth, is the thing.

...Am I bothering you? [He's clearly fidgety already.]

[He shakes his head.]

No.

[Good on him for having his cardinal directions straight. One less thing he has to worry about.]

Just tryin' to decide whether you're bored as shit or just lost.

I usually find it hard to be bored when I've suddenly woken up in a new place. You might think differently, sir.

[Well, this is the first time he's ever been called a "sir" in his entire eighteen years of existence. It earns the other man a raised eyebrow.]

You're new here, huh? [Well, that explains things. It is around that time of the month where the city pulls in new visitors like clouds bring down rain.] Had a dream about a man with a butterfly mask, right?

[silvercoins]

[Judas thinks everyone is above him, you might have to get used to it, Shinjiro.]

Well - yes, how did you know?

[themortalhalf]

[Oh boy.]

Everyone who ain't native here sees the same dream before they come. [He shrugs his shoulders.] It's part of the package deal.

[silvercoins]

What else comes with the package?

[themortalhalf]

[Something wry creeps into his otherwise unreadable expression.] An apartment and a check every month, mostly.

[silvercoins]

Ah, that's good. It's hard to get settled in otherwise... Being unemployed.

[themortalhalf]

Work ain't hard that hard to find if you want it.

[He stares at Judas for a second or two. For being as fidgety as he is, he's taking things better than some people he's seen.]

Or not.

[Work's also hard to get when you come from being dead to being alive.]

I'd like to be productive and useful, of course...

[He can understand that.]

Well, if you feel like sellin' real estate, you've almost got the look down.

[Just not the personality.]

I have heard that before. Though, I doubt I'd be much good at it.

Might wanna ditch the tie then.

[He straightens, pulling away from the wall he had been leaning against, starting to walk, hands sunk deep into his coat's pockets.]

City hall's this way.

[silvercoins]

[Judas quickly catches up to him, though he takes care to keep a few steps behind.] Thank you.

[themortalhalf]

[It's a good think he keeps a few steps behind him then, because part of him stiffens at the gratitude. He'd rather be called "sir" for the rest of his life than be thanked. It should go without saying. He forces his eyes to fixate on a point ahead.]

...This ain't anything worth thanking for.

[silvercoins]

I would go around the block another five times without you.

[In Judas's eyes that's worth thanking for.]

[That earns him another high-brow look as Shinjiro wonders just how much of that is actually true. He holds back a sigh.]

...Guess you could choose shittier places to walk. This's the residential district.

[The main one, anyway.]

It's nice. This city is... nice. And clean.

[Well, it is.]

It ain't all like this.

[He rolls his shoulders, straightening so his posture is a little less slack. He looks ahead, picking the easiest way through the crowd towards one of the metro stations.]

You remember much about the dream?

That word mean anything to you?

I... think I've encountered it in reading about philosophy. I read a lot.
