Omnia Mutantur Nos Et Mutamur In Illis (Newcomer + 13th Hour Log)

▼ All things change, and we change with them (13th hour & arrival log)

Who: Anyone
Where: The entire city
When: May 8th - May 14th
Summary: This is both a Newcomer log AND a General 13th hour log
Warnings: That depends who is there. Remember to mark your titles clearly if any warnings need to be issued!

▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

The Taurus monster had come and pass, as had Golden Week. The city was rebuilding itself, and with the aid of the Visitors, progress was going swiftly.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safey, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside during the next few nights and let the city police and Visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get a little momento from home.

▼ Ode of the Newcomer

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

▼ Extra Long OOC Blurb

[ This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts.

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too! You are, of course, not required to reply here. You can do your own independant log if you'd like!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

DON'T FORGET TO TAG WITH YOUR CHARACTER'S NAME PLEASE.

...Yeah, even Neige has to admit that was pretty dorky. But hey, it put a smile back on her face for a few moments. That's something.

When her newfound ally starts teaching the lion men a few things with his fists, Neige takes a few more steps back as a safety precaution before remembering something else important, even more so in this situation when nothing makes sense - her camera. Right. Now that she's no longer being chased by things, she can actually use it. One quick check of her belt proves to her that she still has it, thank goodness, and so she immediately pulls it out to start taking pictures. The lighting is far from optimal here, but it's better than nothing.

(She especially wants to get pictures of this guy helping her so she can remember him...perhaps interview him later.)

And that brief smile inspires a bit more enthusiasm than he approached the fight with, as it was great to actually get a positive reaction out of someone he helped out. He doesn't see her going for the camera, but thankfully for Neige, Shoutarou is a natural showman. He lands several punches on one lion-man, and finishes with a heavier one to knock him back into some of the others, and then capitalizes on that opportunity to transfer a device from his belt buckle to a hip-holster on the side of the belt.

He also does something potentially stupid - he decides to taunt the creatures. "Come on, I've met lapcats tougher than this!"

Neige can't help but be a bit impressed by her rescuer's showy fighting style - and she's most certainly trying to get pictures of every moment because of that. Whether the pictures come out well or not, there's no way she's missing this.

It's probably a good thing she's watching this fight so closely, though. As her rescuer takes a moment to taunt his enemies, Neige notices one of the lion men start creeping up toward him, as if trying to get in a sneak attack. Maybe it's not wise to disturb the fighter, but she doesn't want to just sit and watch this happen, either, so she pauses in her picture taking to call out, "Ah-- Look out!"
thetrumpcard: (Here's the windup...)

"Eh--?" Shoutarou looks in various directions until he spots the offending feline, then shakes his head. "Bad kitty needs some discipline, I see," he says, and smacks a button on his hip-holster. A disembodied voice - seemingly coming from the gear on his waist - shouts "JOKER! MAXIMUM DRIVE!"

Purple energy surrounds his fist, and he swings it at the sneaky lion-man. "Rider Punch!"

[personal profile] badass_reporter 2013-05-27 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
And discipline that kitty certainly gets - much more than he'd apparently bargained for, seeing how it knocks him right out. Neige is so busy watching Kamen Rider Joker's attack that she almost misses the opportunity to snap a photo of it in action; luckily, she still gets an (admittedly blurry) shot or two. Better than nothing.

...Now it's really tempting to shout some encouragement to her rescuer after witnessing such a thing, but again, don't want to really disturb him in the middle of an outnumbered fight. How much more can these lion men take, though? They can't seem to touch him, and he's obviously much stronger than their numbers combined. Surely they'll give up soon, won't they? Neige pauses in her picture taking to watch them, hoping they've all learned their lesson by now. (And then, once they're both safe, she can ask her rescuer a whole slew of questions....)
thetrumpcard: (Strike a pose!)

Once that pung is thrown and the cat dispatched, Shoutarou draws his hand back, then pops his knuckles with a cocky chuckle. He then raises his arms into a pugilistic form, lightly bouncing back and forth on his feet. "Now, if you all haven't gotten the point, well, there's plenty more where that came from!"

[personal profile] badass_reporter 2013-05-30 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Judging from the way the lion men are starting to grudgingly retreat from the Rider's attacks, it sure seems to Neige like they've gotten the point at last. Maybe they aren't completely willing to give up the fight, but they at least get by now that they're no match for this strange armored man in front of them.

Once the lion men have moved at least a safe distance away (and look to be doing nothing but leaving), Neige decides to finally approach her rescuer, smiling at him. She also puts the camera away for now, of course.

"Thanks for saving me. Mister...Kamen Rider Joker?" (Wow, somehow that name sounds a little more silly when she's actually saying it out loud. Wonder what his real name is...?)
thisclinchesit: (Riders help each other out - right?)

[personal profile] thisclinchesit 2013-06-03 11:57 am (UTC)(link)
Once the creatures have started off, Shoutarou sighs and pulls the device from his hip, and tilts part of his belt buckle upward - the black armor disappears as fragments in a small swirl of wind around him. The device from his hip is placed in a vest pocket, then he pulls a fedora from his opposite hip and dons it. Neige gets a pleased smile, and a light tip of the finger in the vein of a very, very casual salute.

"Welcome, Miss. Glad you're alright."

[personal profile] badass_reporter 2013-06-04 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Welp, guess she's not getting that real name just yet. But she does get a look at Joker without the armor on, at least. Neige is almost visibly surprised to see that the person who saved her is in fact a human; with that armor, she'd have guessed he was a Reploid or something.

But she simply nods rather than saying anything out loud right away. Even though she's about ready to explode with questions - who is he, what's up with that armor, what's his real name, where does he come from, etc. etc. - she knows better to stick to the ones that are most important at the moment. In other words, the ones that have nothing to do with interviewing this guy. "So, um...can you tell me what's going on here?" Her smile fades for now, and understandably, considering the situation at hand. "What's up with this weird place?"
thisclinchesit: (Here comes the plot.)

[personal profile] thisclinchesit 2013-06-09 08:06 am (UTC)(link)
"This place is a city called Hinoto-Ri - and to be completely blunt about things, you've been pulled here to help deal with problems it has," he starts, then motions in the vague direction of where the attackers ran off toward. "They're the least of the issues this city has, but still a part of them. You've had the misfortune of showing up during the time of night when monsters run loose."

[personal profile] badass_reporter 2013-06-10 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Hinoto-Ri? Neige is sure she's never heard of such a place. "What part of the world is this city in?" she asks, while also trying to imagine where it could be in relation to everything else she knows about the world. If it's this major of a city, she should have run across it at some point when she'd traveled years ago, right? Though funny how Neo Arcadia has never said anything about it...

Though that's not the only thing questionable here. Neige has a confused expression for a reason, after all. She's been...'pulled here'? To help deal with the city's problems, which include monster lion men? "What problems?" And why me? she also wants to ask, but she keeps that to herself for now to at least let Joker answer her other questions first.
thisclinchesit: (I'm a detective - I know stuff.)

[personal profile] thisclinchesit 2013-06-29 10:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Japan, according to the locals," Shoutarou answers. "The problems add up to two big things that we know of for the time being - demons and monsters running loose at night, as you saw." He motions again at the long-gone Lion Men. "And a terrorist group operating within the city."
