Omnia Mutantur Nos Et Mutamur In Illis (Newcomer + 13th Hour Log)
▼ All things change, and we change with them (13th hour & arrival log)
Where: The entire city
When: May 8th - May 14th
Summary: This is both a Newcomer log AND a General 13th hour log
Warnings: That depends who is there. Remember to mark your titles clearly if any warnings need to be issued!
▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)
The Taurus monster had come and pass, as had Golden Week. The city was rebuilding itself, and with the aid of the Visitors, progress was going swiftly.
By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.
To keep the population safey, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside during the next few nights and let the city police and Visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.
Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.
Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get a little momento from home.
▼ Ode of the Newcomer
...hopefull anyway.
There is one word that stays with you, however.
Persona.
So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...
▼ Extra Long OOC Blurb
This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.
If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too! You are, of course, not required to reply here. You can do your own independant log if you'd like!
Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).
If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).
FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]
DON'T FORGET TO TAG WITH YOUR CHARACTER'S NAME PLEASE.

Quake Woman/Tempo | Mega Man (Archie Comics) | Pisces District, 13th Hour | Open
She'd taken it upon herself to start her geological surveying project of the city on her own. And in the end, it had helped her. It had helped her a great deal. Focusing on her work, it had made her more content than she'd been in a very long time.
And this time she'd gotten too content. She'd been in the Pisces Ward, and gotten lost in her work. So lost, by the time the 13th hour approached, it had been too late to make it home in time.
The result on Tempo's psyche was typical: She freaked out. She'd managed to avoid the 13th hour the entire time she'd been here.
And sure enough, in her fear and scramble to get back home, she'd attracted unwanted attention.
She was being chased by blue and cyan robots. Why they looked so much like Mega Man, Tempo didn't want to know. She just wanted to get away from them, and the fact that they were firing at her as she ran.
But things went from bad to worse, as Tempo turned a corner and found something new waiting for her. Another machine. A much bigger machine. Tempo stood, gaping up at it in horror...
... before it swung down at her. Tempo may have had armor that was designed for absorbing impacts, but she was scared out of her mind, and taken by surprise. The machine grabbed her, and lobbed her at the nearest wall. She hit it, and slumped down, momentarily stunned.
While she lay there, power began to well up in the larger robot's laser cannon...]
Re: Quake Woman/Tempo | Mega Man (Archie Comics) | Pisces District, 13th Hour | Open
[There was a momentary tremor through the ground that rocketed towards the blue armored pursuers. Then, just before them, the ground literally exploded as several stone spikes made up of the very pavement and earth beneath them erupted from the ground. They served, for the moment, only as a blockade and not directly attacking them.
This was mostly because Lina Inverse didn't know what the hell was going on as came down from a perfectly good dramatic perch, now crouching on the ground beside Tempo with her palm pressed against the pavement.]
Gah, ruined a perfect good dramatic entrance, too.
[She grumbled, standing up and sweeping her cloak aside with one hand, her flowing red hair with the other. She instead opted for pointing dynamically at the larger machine.]
Okay, losers! I was just looking to see who I had to interrogate to find some food, but chasing down and attacking an innocent girl is something Lina Inverse simply won't stand for!
[Lina paused, and glanced back at Tempo.]
Though if you know of any restaurants open at this time of night, I'd really appreciate it~!
Re: Quake Woman/Tempo | Mega Man (Archie Comics) | Pisces District, 13th Hour | Open
The mun thinks it may be some kind of field of contact thing with the Slayers characters.Tempo, meanwhile, looked up, confused]
You... you saved me...? Wait, they don't really respond-
[Tempo didn't really have any opportunity to respond as the larger robot suddenly opened fire on them, without much warning or concern for Lina's boast.
Or her request]
no subject
[Not having time to retaliate, Lina reaches and grabs Tempo by the arm.]
RAY WING!
[A shield of wind envelopes Lina and sends her rocketing skyward, but as she does so, she... well feels a bit of strain, and well... She looks down at her as she flies up.]
Uh, don't take this the wrong way? But you're a lot heavier than you look.
no subject
No. Nonononono. She couldn't feel the ground underneath her feet anymore. She couldn't feel any vibrations. There was no security no footing no nothing she was going to fall she was going to fall help help HELP
While Lina would have a flailing, panicking android on her hands, the Golem's laser hit the wall Tempo had been up against, destroying it. Meanwhile, the Pantheons had picked themselves up... and were now firing on their two airborne targets]
no subject
Thus, she just ends up chucking Tempo at the nearest rooftop before zipping down to it herself, hoping it'll provide enough cover from their attacks.]
Hey. You. You wanna calm down before you get BOTH of us killed?
[She asks this without paying much mind to however Tempo may have landed.]
no subject
This peace would prove short lived, as the top of the building was suddenly rocked by a blast from below - the Golem was firing up at them]
no subject
[Despite the shaking building and the presence of the Golem with clear homicidal intent, Lina turns to face Tempo. She seems oddly calm, or at least unworried, about the fact the building could collapse under them at any time. Really - she'd seen a lot worse.]
So, wanna get with the explaining? Condensed version, please.
no subject
... trapped once... underground... need to know... beneath me... solid...
[The Golem kept firing, now joined by the buster fire of the Pantheons]
no subject
No, not your life's story! I mean what's going on! Here, now. Where the hell am I?!
[While she's starting to lose her patience and seems otherwise relaxed, she is keeping an eye out behind her, waiting for the inevitable moment that the roof they're on gives.]
no subject
Hinoto-Ri... I don't... I don't know the full story... those aren't... alive...
[and then came another volley, and... well, there goes the roof, caving in on them and causing Tempo to scream in terror again]
no subject
Just ... don't get the wrong idea here, okay? WINDY SHIELD!
[Winds whipped up around them again, creating a sphere of shielding air magic as they then promptly fell downward along with the rest of the roof.]
no subject
... How... how are you doing this...?
[as they fell, the Pantheons kept firing, while the Golem moved to try and intercept them as they fell]
no subject
Magic! Duh.
[The Windy Shield fell, but air still rose around her, focusing now around her hand. She thrust it forward.]
BOMB DI WIND!
[A massive, concentrated blast of wind shot forth, throwing a lot of the debris - very heavy in their own right - straight at their pursuers.]
no subject
[Tempo could only sit there, kneeling, as Lina took action again. The debris flew forward, tearing through two of the Pantheons and causing them to explode, while the third ended up being knocked away and heavily damaged.
In the Golem's case, however, it only ended up glancing off of its armor. It floated forward, intent on crushing Lina with one of its massive arms]
no subject
Really, this wasn't her fault. Just because she had only been there a short time and ALREADY a building was destroyed WASN'T HER FAULT.
...this time.]
This sort of thing happen often? FLARE ARROW!
[A barrage of arrow-shaped blasts of flame formed before her before firing out at the Golem. Truthfully, she wasn't expecting much effect there, but it was more to buy her time enough to think than anything.
With destruction like that, she wondered if the noise would attract anything else.
She also wondered if it would attract more things she DIDN'T want.]
no subject
Perish the thought!
A quiet, but strange noise is heard as Xellos appears between Lina and Tempo, though it's likely that the sound got lost in the cacophony. He glances about, and upon spotting Lina, his expression improves a fair bit.]
Well, well! I see you've wasted no time in finding yourself in a rather interesting situation, Miss Lina!
no subject
[The flames struck the Golem's armor, but didn't do anything more than leave black marks across it. It decided to fall back on its next pattern by firing its laser at Lina.
Tempo, meanwhile, noticed Xellos's arrival]
Who... who are you?
no subject
YOU! Of all the... I should have known you had something to do with this mess, Xellos!
[Of course, at the same time, as she leaps over some particularly nasty and dangerous looking rubble, it gets her mind going.
Magic worked her. A Mazoku was here, and could function. A plus B equals...
...a necessity to buy some time, for one.
Still running, she quickly starts to recite something. Though she could pull this off WITHOUT reciting it, she jumps through the hoops regardless in the event of world displacement throwing off what she was about to channel.]
You, who sleep in the depth of the earth...
Dynast, who has a soul of ice...
Give me your freezing wrath...!
DYNAST BREATH!
[Stopping now, Lina releases the power she was building up as a massive wave of cold erupts before her, surging towards the Golem... and utterly, decisively freezing everything in its path.
She isn't expecting it to DESTROY this thing, but she's at least hoping it'll give her long enough to conjure up something that'll blast it to hell.
Or beat an answer out of Xellos.
You know, whatever comes first.]
no subject
[He rather calmly stands by as Lina works, and any rubble that comes his way is stopped cold by a barrier. He does turn to Tempo after that comment with a cordial smile.]
I am Xellos, the mysterious priest. You must be someone with terrible fortune, running across Miss Lina at this time of night.
no subject
Terrible fortune...? She... she saved me! My terrible fortune is running into these monst-
[Tempo never managed to finish what she was saying, because another spray of ice shards signaled the Golem beginning to tear his way through the remaining ice in an effort to get to Lina]
(no subject)
(no subject)
no subject
... wait... what's she... what's she doing?
[then her eyes widened. As the Golem made a dash towards Lina, something approached the sorceress from behind... namely, the last, partially destroyed Pantheon, which was leaping at the red head from behind]
Look... look out...!
no subject
DIGGER VOLT!
[Electricity surged out and engulfed the damaged Pantheon. Lina tried to turn quickly again on her heel to see if she had time to dodge or intercept the Golem somehow.
Wow, it sure moved fast for something its size.
It was in fact, about to crush her outright.
Lina was tough. She could take hits that'd make most grown men shake in their boots. But she was only human. With no time to summon up another spell to even deflect this thing, it would surely have crushed her right then and there...
...at least, it would have had something not just snapped into place in her mind. A vague recollection of something after she left her world, but before she entered this one.
A word slipped out of her mouth, then.]
Persona.
[Something happened - a flash of power and light burst out, and something, or someone formed in place before Lina, intercepting the Golem's path.
It was a ... man. A man in ornate sorcerer's garb, which Lina instantly recognized was from CENTURIES prior to her own time. He had long, dark hair, wielded a staff... and he had seemingly come from out of nowhere.
After half a second to take a breath, Lina's mind began to race as she tried to place the man's identity.]
Xellos... what the hell.
no subject
[Xellos starts to speak, but then the spell putters out.]
That was going to be what I was talking about.
[However, what happened next was quite unexpected. Lina's Persona awakening, not so much, but as for what it was, well. Xellos takes a step back, and his eyes open in shock. It takes some moments for him to register that this is merely a persona, and not the actual Lei Magnus. Once that is established, Xellos goes back to his poker-face.]
...there's some strange things about this world, Miss Lina. Think of this like a summoning spell. Details can wait until later.
no subject
[Tempo honestly didn't know much about Personas, and had been unable to manifest her own. Nevertheless, she could say what she did know...]
[Meanwhile, the Golem paused, as if taken aback by this sudden development. But it reacted quickly enough, striking out with another laser blast at the "man" that had suddenly manifested]
