Summary: This is both a Newcomer log AND a General 13th hour log

▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

 

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

The Taurus monster had come and pass, as had Golden Week. The city was rebuilding itself, and with the aid of the Visitors, progress was going swiftly.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safey, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside during the next few nights and let the city police and Visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get a little momento from home.

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[ This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts.

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too! You are, of course, not required to reply here. You can do your own independant log if you'd like!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

[Inigo's exploration of the immediate area surrounding the apartments -- with its plentiful shopping stalls and boutiques -- had been going smoothly...if not a little uneventful. Everyone (read: every girl) he approached to ask about everything ranging from butterfly masks to possible locations of familiar faces ignored him, continued on as if he wasn't there with barely a glance, let alone two words beyond something that sounds like "not now."

Not that it'll stop him. Someone's bound to succumb to his...charms?

No matter. Despite the bustling activity, he's standing in the middle of the pathway, alone and trying to flag down anyone -- man or woman. It's quite depressing, really, his desperation. If not a little pathetic.]

Hey there...! Pardon me!

[Fortunately for Inigo, this particular girl doesn't ignore him. She is, however, right in the middle of eating - there's a takoyaki stand close by here that she just can't resist visiting - and so when she turns to face him, she has a mouth full of food. She does politely swallow it before speaking, though.]

Hello! Were you talking to me...?

[Oh, finally, a response! And it's a cute girl, no less. His fortune's really starting to look up.]

To you? Absolutely.

[The food in the mouth doesn't strike him as impolite or gross -- or something even worth noticing, because he just offers her his most winning smile.]

Pardon my ignorance, but would you happen to know where we are...?

This is the Pisces Ward. [is her first response, but then she looks at his outfit and the armor that seems straight from a RPG and reconsiders.] ...Unless you're hoping for a more general "where."

Ah, I was speaking in more general terms.

[He's definitely not from anywhere around here -- he's realized this from the moment he woke up and first saw the crowds of others. Their style of dress, manner of speaking...even the food they ate. Everything was different. But he likes to think he can easily adapt.]

[Being from modern Japan herself, the culture shock hadn't been quite as big for Minako. But that doesn't mean she can't help out other Visitors.]

Well then... this city is called Hinoto-ri. It's a different world from the one you come from.

[manhandled]

[Hinoto-ri, eh? He's heard the name, once or twice, already. Sounds like something from Regna Ferox if you ask him.

Just thinking of that makes the corner of his mouth turn downward, slightly. It quirks back up when he faces her again, eyes bright.]

It really is different. The girls back home aren't as cute and kind as you.

[His posture relaxes some and he tilts his head, giving off the impression that his attention is all hers, and hers alone.]

Is there somewhere...central, where visitors and the like would meet?

[...So that's his game, huh. Minako doesn't lose stride, though.]

I'm sure any other Visitor would've been just happy to help you out...

[she pauses just slightly.]

But the best place to go for information is City Hall. They can set you up with communication and a place to live.

City Hall, eh?

[And it's more of his general approach than his game -- he finds it easier to talk to girls this way. At least, until they catch on and end things. Violently.

But since Minako hasn't rejected him thus far, he feels things are finally turning around for him, and so he tries his luck.]

...I don't suppose you'd be interested in giving a guided tour, mm?

[As long as he keeps his hands to himself there will be no violence. ...But that still doesn't mean he's really had a stroke of luck.

She makes a brief show of considering before answering.] Sure, I have some time to spare.

[and then politeness-] My name's Minako Arisato, by the way. Are you hungry? I was just in the middle of getting lunch. [takoyaki is not really a healthy "lunch" but he doesn't need to know that.]

[He'll keep his hands to himself -- they'd only just met, after all. And besides, most of Inigo's, um, offenses tended to be as a result of what he's said rather than what he's done.

Though there are instances where his hands did wander...

Anyway, he's certainly appreciative of her offer, as evidenced by his smile and the way his face just lights up.]

A lovely name you have there, Minako. I--

[His hunger doesn't resonate until she mentions. it -- he can't remember the last time he actually ate something.]

I...am, actually. Lead the way!

Then a food tour first it is. [She's pretty good at picking out the best places to eat.] Let's see... there's takoyaki, or a ramen place if you're really hungry. And there's also a burger place.

[...Although, he's probably not from Earth, or Japan even if he is, so this could be trial and error. She pokes her toothpick into one of the takoyaki balls left on the tray she's been carrying and holds it out to him.] This is takoyaki. Try one if you don't know if you'll like it!

[None of the mentioned foods strike him as familiar, but...hey, for the chance to mingle with a cute girl, Inigo'd do just about anything. Being adventurous with his eating won't be the craziest thing he's done for the sake of a girl.]

Takoyaki? Well, let's see...

[And he'll be taking what's offered to him. Biting down and chewing quite enthusiastically.]

Mmn...mmn... Well...

Well? What do you think?

I know octopus is an acquired taste for some people...

[because that's whats in them. ...or well. what's advertised as being in them...]

Er -- did you say octopus?

[If she hadn't said that, then maybe his face wouldn't have faulted; maybe he wouldn't have felt the sudden urge to stop chewing. The takoyaki was actually quite tasty, with a unique texture and flavor.

But...octopus?

He forces himself to chew the rest of it. Albeit much much slower than before. And reminds himself to focus on the flavor. It's not bad, that it's actually delicious and no longer raw, and definitely no longer a tentacled creature from the sea...]

...no, that's exactly what she meant. And with his perfect reaction, she can't help but start laughing.]

[As someone who lives in the Pisces apartment, shopping in the district isn't all that odd to do. Plus, after yesterday's stormy weather, the cloudy sky was almost refreshing to walk under.

A girl (?) pauses, before turning around and look at Inigo. When she speaks, it's clearly a feminine voice. Low pitched, sure, but a girl's voice.]

...Yes?

[manhandled]

Ah.

[Inigo's friendly grin grows wide and bright upon realizing he's captured the attentions of a girl. It's an added reflex really, one he cannot control (not as if he'd want to rid himself of it anyway). He leans forth, juuuust a bit.]

Lovely lady, might you be able to spare a few moments to help a poor and lost soul that's new to the -- [World, apparently.] -- area...?

["Lovely lady"? That's something Miyako rarely get called by, due to her circumstances. She blinks, clearly surprised by it, before quickly realising he's a new Visitor from his words.]

I don't mind, as you seems to be a new Visitor.

[Every time the Visitors appear, there's a possibility of meeting potential pawns. Or allies, if they're worthy of it in her mind.

...Still, she's not used to being called "lovely lady".]

Did you just arrive here?

More or less. I've been wandering around, lost and with nowhere to go.

[Playing up the dramatics will endear her to his plight and win her favor. At least, that's what he thinks, anyway. He pouts his lips just a little.]

I am trying to find my comrades.

[A pause, as he considers if they're even here. They have to be...]

Where would you suggest I start looking?

[Unfortunately for Inigo, a person's plight won't gain her attention.]

I suggest using your COMP and put up a notice on the network. If your comrades--[That word never fails to sound foreign to her.Her eyes glance over at his ears, checking to see if he got the small device.]

If you have your COMP, it should be behind your ear.

[Otherwise, it might be coming for him.]

[With a thoughtful frown, he swims his fingers through the thick hair at his temple and hanging behind his ear for any -- ah, there it is. Strange. He won't fiddle with it just yet, though.]

And I suppose if I were to put a notice on this, ah, bulletin network they'll find me. Just like that?

[After the initial awkwardness from saying "comrades", Miyako easily slip into answering his questions. It's easier to focus on right now.]

They would see your notice and respond. Then you can arrange to meet them in a common area.

[Miyako doesn't post to the network that often, but she's aware of the useful benefits it have.

If JP's have something like this, communications would be much simpler.]

[If Miyako knows what he's thinking, she...wouldn't actually care about what he'd do with the knowledge.

Unless he put the moves on her.]

Don't be. I'm Miyako Hotsuin. [Since he might be a potential pawn ally, giving her name away is logical. Beside, she have no reason not to tell him her name.]

It's normal to lend assistance to new Visitors around here.

[Especially since not all natives are particularly fond of them. It'd be annoying if there's a fuss in the middle of the street.]
