The Observers and the Observed
Who: Everyone interested in .~*STARS*~.
Where: Sagittarius labs; topmost floor.
Summary: The renamed Ophiuchus Observatory has been opened to the public, as well as volunteers willing to scan the heavens. Perhaps the answer to the Zodiac Effect truly does lie within the stars...?
Music: LAW
Warnings: Space, also science.
When the Visitors had first seen the Sagittarius Labs last September, the Anoli attacking made it difficult for many to truly get a grasp for the building itself. They were told that the fourth floor connected to the roof, which had been breached, and that they would have to defend the labs.
That was only mostly true.
The building had been constructed with demon-studying in mind, and was thus nearly impossible to navigate on one's own. Hallways went to nowhere, and space did not behave as one would have liked. The roof, for example, was truly connected to the fourth floor. But the fourth floor was not truly only one of four floors.
The deception could be easily noticed from the roof of the Sagittarius Labs, which now housed the renamed Ophiuchus Observatory. The building was much, much taller than it seemed on the outside- it seemed to tower over all the other buildings in the area. The observatory had been used exclusively for keeping an eye on the moon phases before, but with the increased threat of the Zodiac Effect, it had been upgraded to a much more proper catadioptric telescope. To aid citizens and visitors alike in getting to the observatory without having to undergo complex navigation, a service elevator had been installed to lead right to the domed roof. The machine was simple to use, and did not require any training to use- the only request the labs had was that people report any peculiarities they observed in the night sky.
[OOC: This is a mingle log, so please feel free to thread with one another! If you have any questions, go pester gaakishi on plurk, and I will get back to you ASAP!]

Brainstorm, open to all though the last bit is for Ideo only.
Or at least, Brainstorm's holomatter avatar. He's here checking some final things from the inside, and seems quite busy, and eager to finish what he's doing and get going.
Of course, that's not going to stop him from pestering one particular scientist at one point - "Alright, Ideo - this bothersome eldritch box for this oversized telescope is finished. My usefulness here is finished, so I would like to leave."

Re: OPEN!
He gives the kid a bit before interrupting.]
Anything we should worry about out there?

[He closes the document before giving a stretch and turning fully to Robo.]
As far as I can tell, all the stars are where they should be... Well, more or less, anyway.

Re: OPEN!
Briefly, he notices Hizumi busying himself on the COMPnet and considers exchanging pleasantries, but... instead he hesitates. It's a little awkward for him to stand around, but not terribly so, and Otonashi can always just go or actually maybe perhaps use the observatory if Hizumi's too busy.]

He even pesters some of the people who don't obviously belong with small talk.

A boy with his eye pressed against the telescope begins to speak aloud to no one in particular.
"I've found the Small Arbitrarily Grouped Collection of Stars that Vaguely Resembles a Laser Gun!"
Evidently, Atsuro was not an astrology expert. He backs away from the highly sophisticated machine with a sigh.
"What are we even looking for? Supernovas?"
no subject
"Let's hope for less supernovas and more funny star shapes."

Thankfully it was just staring at that point and not openly going up to him and being annoying and asking if he could take him apart to see how he worked. Although, it's unclear whether it was because it would be rude if he did or he just wasn't good at starting conversation.
Maybe it was both, who knows?

"Do you want an autograph or something?"

So he had all but welcomed himself into the laboratory and up to the observatory, and was now positioned in front of the telescope, learning how it worked and moving it around to look at the sky.

As it turns out, standing still and waiting is incredibly boring.
"So, uh...seen anything interesting?"
no subject
"Well, I suppose that depends on your definition."

Open!!
It's more likely than you think.
Although, in true Tatsuya fashion, he wasn't immediately going over to the telescope, only gravitating towards it when someone he knew was over there (i.e. Jun), but until then, he was content to hang out and maybe talk to others if prompted. Maybe even about astrology and astronomy! But what could a guy like this know about something so esoteric...?

Agatha Sheridan, OTA
Needless to say, Agatha is here, mostly out of fascination. Because stars. All the stars, all of them. Hell yes stars, hell yes heliocentric universe and STARS.
She can and will be found looking at the stars and the telescope whenever possible, tilting her head this way and that in an attempt to understand the device or to see if she can spot any familiar constellations, or nebulae, or...
...Yes, she is legitimately excited about this. It is a red-letter day, people.]
hope this is okay!
In the meantime, he carries around a stack of papers more suited to a graduate student--which he most certainly is not--and waits around patiently. Something will open up, right? Right. On top of all that, he's not exactly the most adept at striking up casual, engaging conversations, but he'll try.]
Ah... Is the sky clear tonight?
It's just fine by me!

Celestial bodies hanging in the sky. Or so the ancient civilization used to believe, but despite that fact, and the true nature of a star, Philip still found himself fascinated by observatories, especially those like this.]
Hm, interesting...
[He's jotting down notes in his notepad as he observed the stars, if you decide to approach him!]
