Where: Hinoto-Ri Public Pool

Summary: We have a pool now!  Summer fun for everyone!
Warnings: Probably none.

[It's summer, and what would summer be without a pool?  Well, thankfully for the good citizens and Visitors of Hinoto-Ri, the public pool is finally open for business!  With three different pools, a snack bar, and plenty of space on the grass for playing frisbee or just laying out to get some sun, there's plenty of summertime fun for everyone!  There are also a number of pool toys to use, ranging from basketball hoops and plastic balls, water noodles, boogie boards, and just about anything else you can think of.]

Oh hey it is Miss Nano.

Desco will just wave hello from underneath twelve feet of water and gurgle out a greeting.

Someone less familiar with how Desco works might think it looks like she's flailing around in a panic and losing air, huh.

D-Desco...!

[OH GOD SHE'S DROWNING

OH GOD NANO CAN'T SWIM EITHER

WAT DO]

Hold on, I'll get the lifeguard!

Sadly, Desco's long, pointed ears are almost entirely for show, and she's under twelve feet of water besides, so she has no idea what Miss Nano just said.

So instead of swimming up to reassure Nano or anything, she will just continue to swim in backwards loops trying to catch her own tail.

[Eventually, having been unable to locate a lifeguard that will deal with drowning Visitors, Nano shows back up with one of those big long poles they use to dredge the pool.]

Hang on! I'll get you out!

[Wobbling back and forth from the size of the thing, Nano eventually gets it in the water, lowering it down.]

Huh. A stick. Why is there a stick? Desco will just swim up along the stick until her head breaks water and stare up at Miss Nano.

"Hello Miss Nano!"

[all_wound_up]

A-aren't you... but...

[Nano stares at the stick, and then looks to Desco.]

[tyrantball]

Desco looks at the stick and then back at Nano.

"What's that for?"

[all_wound_up]

I thought you were drowning...

[tyrantball]

Desco giggles a little at this before hauling herself out of the water, tail wagging behind her.

"Desco is a demon, and demons don't need to breathe! Otherwise how would Desco survive in space?"

[all_wound_up]

In space?

[tyrantball]

"Desco sometimes goes to the Moon so she can beat up mushrooms!"

Entirely earnest as she says this.

[all_wound_up]

All the way to the moon? How?

[If Nano didn't already know Desco wasn't just a normal little girl, she could dismiss this as playing pretend. But she's very aware that Desco is anything but normal.]

"The Dimensional Gatekeeper back home opens a portal for Desco!"

Desco is so far beyond normal that even with all seventeen of her eyes peeled, she can't even see normal.

I don't understand at all.

[tyrantball]

"The Dimensional Gatekeeper is the demon in charge of opening portals all over the Netherworld! She is a vital support-type character that makes Desco's life of going to other places and beating demons up possible!"

Desco grins broadly at this, her tail slapping against the surface of the pool.

"Would Miss Nano like to go swimming? It's fun staring up at people from the bottom!"

[all_wound_up]

O-oh.

[Because what do you even say to that.]

...No, that's okay!

[Shaking her head, she waves her hands frantically in front of herself.]

[tyrantball]

Desco nods.

"Okay!"

With that, Desco spreads her arms out and falls backwards into the pool, humming the Jaws music as she does. A flick of her tail propels her downwards, and she resumes her station at the bottom of the pool.

Somehow, the sound of her humming manages to linger in the air.
