Science. Science and the inquiring mind has kept humanity on the path of progress for hundreds of thousands of years. What could make science rule harder?

A science showcase, of course! What better way spark the curiosity of the young and old by showing off the scientific achievements of the community. You have your things for the kids, your potato batteries and baking soda volcanoes and what-have-you, you have your higher-brow showcases of what the Department of Wands has been working on, your informative panels delving into biology, physics, chemistry and astronomy. There's even free food, including some molecular gastronomy creations for the...adventurous. There are even topics your average Visitor wouldn't think fell under the realms of science.

Such as? Why, like how Personas work (with explanations that aren't just "It's Magic") or discussions about demons, where they might come from, how they're different and similar to humans, how they use magic, and so on.

What kind of things will you and your friends discover? Perhaps you or someone you know is setting up an exhibit?

Regardless, enjoy the science fair and have fun!

[OOC: You are allowed to start a thread if you want your character to have a booth / hold a topic in a private room, or just do threads where you go around visiting. Projects and seminars are varied! Share your knowledge! Enjoy the science! Eat some really strange food! Try not to mix too much baking soda with vinegar!]

"Well, these are intended to be used by the Hinoto-Ri law enforcement types. I'm not sure how they'd feel about giving access to them to Visitors as a whole, really. I could find out, however..."

"I see. I was just thinking of several practical applications both at the 13th hour and just during normal functional hours. But yes, its probably best to get permission before mass producing a weapon into a cold test environment."

"Yes, yes. The 'proper channels', and all that rot," Brainstorm answers with an exasperated tone. "Been a while since I've had to do that song and dance. Not long enough, really."

"Especially with how backed up with paperwork they get. I had a friend who expressed that it was a horrible shame that it took so long, but realized that was the best time to test the prototypes. That way at the formal inquiry he had so much more data."

"My problem isn't the paperwork as much as it is getting things approved and code-compliant, but this thing isn't as... elaborate as my usual fare, and it's not the proper channels of home, so perhaps it won't be so bad."

She stares at him for a while.

"You are used to either planet killers or hyper lethal, aren't you?"

Cue a similar stare back before Brainstorm tries to look innocent and coy.

(Spoilers: He's not very good at it.)

"Oh dear - it's not that obvious, is it?"

"I'm looking for someone to help me calibrate a phase transposition cannon due to power constraints."

For a moment, Brainstorm stares, then his optics widen a bit. "...yes, that sounds about like something I would build. Count me in."

"Excellent. I'll get you access to the Nadesico's weapons systems then. Its the large ship in the park."

[universebeware]

"I'll see to that soon enough, then. ...though I suppose I should ask just how you wish for it to be calibrated. Obviously to function within the power constraints, but anything more specific?"

[electricyousei]

"Normally it has a blast radius somewhere around the size of the American state of New Jersey. That is.... Inefficient here. I need help focusing it."

It takes a moment, but Brainstorm's optics widen just slightly in an approving manner, then he shakes his head and sighs. "A pity that such a thing is necessary, but thankfully I have a great deal of experience in working within restrictions."
