Summary: The Time of Truthiness is upon Hinoto-Ri!

It begins. A strange aura spreads out over Hinoto-Ri, stealing into the hearts, minds, and mouths of every denizen of the city, changing them - embiggening their souls with the power of TRUTHINESS.

For one week, Hinoto-Ri becomes a city where no lies can exist. Who is responsible for this? Will their dedication to ABSOLUTE TRUTHINESS bring them victory...or defeat?

Nod nod.

"Mmm, yeah. Seeing what's been going on, I'm counting myself lucky that I don't have any dark secrets, just hideously embarrassing ones."

Pause.

"Ah, see? There it goes again."

"I don't really have any secrets of note other than being a princess and idol singer, and that doesn't matter at all here. It just tends to get irritating if a lot of people know."

She doesn't seem bothered that she said it, and maybe she would have said that normally, its hard to tell with her deadpan.

Kotoha doesn't visibly react to that piece of information beyond a nod of acknowledgement.

"Well, I won't tell anyone, then."

There's a slight pause as Kotoha considers something.

"Hey Ruri, what's your favorite food?"

Well that was an abrupt change of topic.

She blinks, then looks down closing her eyes.

"It doesn't exist anymore. Or the chef that made it died and never wrote down the recipe."

Kotoha freezes for a brief moment before speaking.

"...oh. I'm sorry, I just wanted to change the topic to something harmless..."

[electricyousei]

She shakes her head.

"After the war I was taken in by Yurika, the previous captain of the Nadesico, and Akito, the ship's chef. Well one of the chefs. Mostly because I was raised as property and as such it was agreed that I'd probably be a liability in a political setting without proper training. I'm not sure why I'm telling all this as it is kind of pointless though."

Kotoha blinks a few times before replying in a strangely casual tone.

"I'm sorry, I was with you until the 'raised as property' bit and then I lost the rest of your sentence to a surge of white-hot anger."

"My parents couldn't conceive naturally, so they went to a lab. The lab was destroyed by terrorists and all the children were written off. Roughly 20 of us survived and were sold to a research corporation for genetics experiments. Due to the 95% failure rate and the cost of the program I was deemed property until Prospector-san wrote I was defective and had me assigned to Yurika."

She shrugs a bit.

"...how is it even legal to sell babies to research companies for any reason?"

[electricyousei]

"I was a fertilized embryo, not a baby. That and its not legal in most countries and the research they did has been deemed illegal now."

"...well at least there's that. Time to change the subject! I've never once eaten meat in my life."

Normally she is less blunt about this sort of thing but she is pretty desperate to get off the current topic.

"Hrm, I ate quite a bit of it when helping Akito refine his recipes. I prefer tofu though."

Kotoha nods.

"Most of what's considered 'food animals' around here are sapient creatures back home, so...yeah. Tofu's good, though. Gramma Sakura has this really nice stir-fried tofu recipe that she used to make whenever we visited her."

[electricyousei]

"Most actual meat where I come from is synthetic anyways, but not using sapient creatures makes sense."

She nods a bit.

Kotoha nods.

"I kind of wish I had access to my berry collection, since besides being delicious they also have some really useful properties. I'd give anything for a proper glass of Oran juice."

[electricyousei]

"I'm guessing its not like orange juice. I honestly would just be happy if I could get back in the Nadesico, but Omoikane is being insufferable."

"Oh? You need a place to stay for a while?"

[electricyousei]

"No, I think I'll be all right. Omoikane is just upset that I've been in isolation since that incident with the 'love' demons. I still get a headache thinking about that."
