It begins. A strange aura spreads out over Hinoto-Ri, stealing into the hearts, minds, and mouths of every denizen of the city, changing them - embiggening their souls with the power of TRUTHINESS.

For one week, Hinoto-Ri becomes a city where no lies can exist. Who is responsible for this? Will their dedication to ABSOLUTE TRUTHINESS bring them victory...or defeat?

If someone notices this massive change in the hearts and minds of the citizens... it sure isn't going to be Midori. She's dedicated to truth and justice already.

She is, however, running around the city a lot today, for a reason to bump into her anywhere. Why is she running around?

She's taking pictures of good places to pose.

Congrats, waves of truthiness, Agatha has no idea you are there. Also, she gives precisely zero damns. The only thing that's important is ... Uh ... ... Well, after that conversation with not-ancestor-except-yes-except-??? back during the cyberspace event, she's actually been a little fuzzy on that one.

...Of course the powers that be are not going to let her get out of this unscathed, so she is going to end up sitting on a bench at Midori's next "yay posing" location. From the looks of it, she went to the hospital and helped out some injured people again, because the bandages are back.

When she sees Midori, she just kind of - nods, awkwardly. "...Hi."

"Hi, Agatha." After finishing with the photos, Midori plops down on the bench next to her. "How have you been?"

[badluckhealer]

And that's when the change is made obvious. "Questioning a lot of things on account of a conversation with an alternate version of our most famous - or infamous - ancestor. Doing my duty regardless."

That is a very clear "what the fuck" expression on Aggie's face. Yep. "Um. ... And ... you?"

Those are a lot of words about herself that Agatha is saying. Which is unusual.

"Bored, and missing my friend who went home, and worried about my friend who came here, but otherwise pretty good!"

Huh. She didn't actually mean to say all that either.

Naoya, for his part, is just going about his normal routine. He can do a lot of his work at home, so that leaves him a lot of spare time to run out and do errands.

Today, someone might find him walking around, carrying a shopping bag - or alternatively milling around, just people-watching.

Yeah, REALLY. This is bad. This is really bad.

"...I do not know whether to wish you well that your friend has arrived, or attempt to commiserate over the loss."

The internal screaming, it is loud.

[prettytamer]

"I think it'll be okay. Kazuya will be okay, even if he is demon overlord or something now. I made a promise to be his friend and I don't break promises!"

Pause.

"Something is proooobably going on, isn't it."

[badluckhealer]

"I was unaware that said person was a demon overlord. Given the demonic turf war back home, as well as the Sheridan t-tendency to b-be cursed by Heaven for s-so much as saying 'hi' to a lesser demon or its s-summoner o-or allies, I am not sure how to react to this."

....MOTHERFUCKER. All the color drains from her face and she backs away a few steps, covering her mouth with her hands, eyes wide. Her attempts to not say these things had just resulted in stuttering! Well, she hadn't quite blown her family's cover - but it was bad enough!

She manages a muffled "something is very wrong" and a desperate nod, though.

Leo to Pisces Wards; August 8th

[He took the day off from work today, not because he could necessarily afford it (between missed time with the kidnapping and the hospital bills, his funds were getting low) but because he wasn't sure what answers he would find, and that alone was enough to worry him.

It was probably a wise decision. Hospital hours on Sundays were short, but all he needed to do was walk in and pick up the hard copy of his test information, which was simple enough. The receptionist handed it over to him with a smile, something he echoed back brightly enough.

And then, as he walked, he looked over the tests himself.

Everything looked normal. He was perfectly fit, with blood levels all comfortably within the acceptable range, and no health issues to speak of aside from a slightly high cholesterol intake.

Except that in of itself was completely, horribly wrong. He'd kept track of the time; by now, he should have been suffering from anemia at the very least, if not further degeneration of his body. He should have been slowly dying by now, to ensure that the fate met by Yaiba did not come about again.

He's visibly shaken as he exits the hospital, setting a quick pace back to his apartment in Pisces. He won't call out to anyone, or stop to say hi, but he can't exactly prevent it if someone catches him for some socializing...]

"Maybe we should just stop talking. Right now."

Midori hasn't even processed all the implications of what Agatha said, not yet, but she knows from the look on her face that she really did not want to say it.

"-Don't go anywhere, okay?" Midori reaches for her backpack and starts rummaging around through it.

[badluckhealer]

Okay good. Midori please do not process any of what she just said. Agatha nods and manages not to say anything after that, keeping her hands over her mouth.

[prettytamer]

Midori pulls out a notebook and a pencil. She sketches a head with talky-lines coming out of it, and then crosses it out.



Then she attempts to hand the notebook and pencil over to Agatha, which won't work if she insists on keeping her hands over her mouth like that.

[(Un)fortunately for him, Taro is milling around the area, and he spots Hizumi as he leaves the hospital and looks at some papers. ... Bad test results? He considers it for a moment, and then jogs over towards him.]

Hey, Hizumi! You okay?

[badluckhealer]

Well, if you say so. Agatha's going to remove hands from mouth in order to draw...something. Another talky head and what looks like a head with hands over its ears. A scribble-out of the talky head, and the other head with question marks.



She's going to pass the notebook back to Midori now.

Kotoha hasn't really noticed either.

What she has noticed is a girl running around taking pictures, and hey, that seems like something she'd like in on!

"Hi! What are you taking pictures of?"

[prettytamer]

She doesn't really know what that means. Maybe what are they supposed to do if they can't talk?

Well that's easy!



The binder they're drawing on is ringed, at least.

[prettytamer]

"Places to pose!" Midori replies with a smile. "There's tons of good scenery in this city."

[badluckhealer]

Aggie were you trying to indicate that you think the strings are tangled again.

Because that doesn't even remotely look like strings.

Kotoha pauses and looks around.

"You considered aerial views at all?"

[prettytamer]

Yeah that's more like space... things.

[prettytamer]

"I have, it'd be fun, but how would I get up there?"

[badluckhealer]

Yeah that's not going to work. So instead she just writes down, Do you think something has gone wrong with the strings again?

[prettytamer]

Maybe! Maybe they're all... what can you do to a string that makes you tell the truth?

[bondsofsuffering]

[There's a distinct pause as he runs over his options, but right now it's probably best to try to play it cool. He brings up a smile as per the norm, even if it isn't as bright as it normally is.

The facade is cracking.]
