Despite how she may feel about him, Alcor would at least make sure Yamato won't get hurt and taken care of.
Miyako was just going to her desk to retrieve something, when she sensed a very familiar presence near her desk. Immediately, she walked over and find herself looking at Alcor. She narrowed her eyes at him.]
...Alcor. What business do you have here?
[He doesn't just come here without a reason, so Miyako immediately suspect he's here for something.]
no subject
...A gift for you.
no subject
[That's honestly one of the things she wasn't expecting. For a moment, her surprise is clear and genuine. Miyako briefly glanced at the package, noting the size and general shape, before her attention returned to Alcor.]
...Why?
no subject
[While he would normally answer her with "Why not?", casually avoiding addressing that particular issue, he found himself being more...honest instead. How strange.]
...Your brother had mentioned your interest in music in passing.
[Though Miyako might not know Alcor's contribution to and role in nurturing human culture, she could probably pick up on his eager fondness for it.]
no subject
He did? [Why would he bring it up? She haven't play any instruments, particularly her favourites, in months.
...At Yamato's age, she's still learning the violin and enjoying the challenge a lot.]
And because he mentioned it, you decided to give me a gift based on that?
no subject
That's correct. ...Do you dislike it?
no subject
[She paused. That's not quite what she intend to say.]
What did you get for me? It's pointless if it turns out to be something I can't play.
no subject
[Calmly, bluntly, no mystery or surprise.]
no subject
I would be pleased, especially if it's well made and can produce clear sounds. But I'm also conflicted because it's from you.
[Curses. She doesn't want to bring up that part. She's more than content to avoid talking about their relationship.]
no subject
[Admission of guilt was something that he didn't even have to try to hide. His relationship with the Hotsuin family was...a bit more touchy, for both sides.]
A gift such as an instrument is trivial in comparison.
no subject
[The circumstances behind her upbringing and lessons, after the Hotsuin clan decided on her specific role. What she wanted was always stifled by duty and Yamato's shadow.]
Just leave the gift and remove yourself. All I want is for someone to understand. [Her expression, if anything, turns even more unpleasant when she realised what she just said.]
no subject
...I take it that you did not mean to say that much.
no subject
[Because it's too open, exposed for her taste. Miyako believed she was moving ahead, and without relying on Alcor for it. With gritted teeth, she speak again.]
I want you to leave now before we speak any more words. Before I start saying words I'm not comfortable to tell you.
no subject
...I expected as much. Very well...I hope you enjoy your gift.
[And because of the effects they were experiencing, there was no room for doubt that that was the honest truth. What she would make of that was up to her. A blink of an eye, and he was gone, leaving no trace behind, save for the gift itself.]
no subject
Miyako glared at where Alcor used to be, before she turned her gaze back at the gift on her desk. "Enjoy your gift"? If it's well tuned and of good quality, of course she would enjoy it. The problem was it's from him.
She clenched her fists, still full of emotions to be vented out. Miyako will...test it out, once she calm down enough.
And hopes no one will ask about it.]
