Summary: The Time of Truthiness is upon Hinoto-Ri!

It begins. A strange aura spreads out over Hinoto-Ri, stealing into the hearts, minds, and mouths of every denizen of the city, changing them - embiggening their souls with the power of TRUTHINESS.

For one week, Hinoto-Ri becomes a city where no lies can exist. Who is responsible for this? Will their dedication to ABSOLUTE TRUTHINESS bring them victory...or defeat?

"Do you think the effect applies to demons, too?"

That could be interesting. ...And potentially worth manipulating. She wasn't sure what she would take advantage of it for, but it seemed to be worth thinking about.

"There's one run by a penguin I know. ...The other popular one is called Nyx's."

[angryyoungvamp]

"I don't know, but it's worth finding out. Though if it doesn't they might pretend it does, I guess. Demons can be tricky like that."

Maugris doesn't like demons much.

"I probably shouldn't be surprised in this city, but... seriously? A penguin?"

[phantom_envoy]

"His name is Dedede. He's also like, bright blue." Phantom Girl gives a shrug. "Honestly, I don't know why I was so shocked about the whole vampire thing; it's not like I don't see stranger things on a daily basis."

[angryyoungvamp]

"A blue penguin running a bar. Uh, yeah, that's... kind of strange." Maugris has had conversations with animals before, but they've all been shapeshifted vampires.

"Can penguins even drink alcohol?"

[phantom_envoy]

She ponders this highly important question for a few moments.

"Maybe that's how he makes profits. Waters all the alcohol down."

Clearly this is something they should investigate.

"Anyway... Well, we're not exactly a team or anything, but you want to look around one tonight and I'll take the other? Can't hurt to give it a shot."

[angryyoungvamp]

"Sure, sounds like a plan. I wouldn't mind teaming up, anyway, at least for a while. You're helpful and when you waste time you're not actively working at cross purposes with me."

He pauses. "That was meant to sound more like a compliment, but apparently the truth thing didn't like it."

[phantom_envoy]

"Gee. I'm not flattered at all. ...That wasn't the truth thing; I meant to say that."

She laughs after a few moments of looking disgruntled, though.

"I'm going to grab some dinner first - do you eat normal food at all?"

[angryyoungvamp]

He shakes his head. "Some vampires can, but I never got the hang of it. Not like we get anything out of it, anyway. Thanks for asking, at least."

He ignores the first odd remark, partly because he knows his own comment was kind of asinine, and partly because he isn't sure whether she's joking or just having cultural issues with sarcasm.

[phantom_envoy]

"...Didn't you start off eating normal food? I would've thought it would stick around for the ride or something."

Not that she knew anything about vampire physiology.

"I'll see you later, then. And I'll let you know if I hear anything."

[angryyoungvamp]

"Digestive system doesn't work right anymore; technically I'm dead. Mostly dead, anyway; we've sort of had debates about that back home."

Thankfully doesn't stop to explain what would have happened to what was sticking around when he was Embraced; that would be a good way to make sure she stopped being hungry quickly.

He nods. "Right, see you later. I'll do the same."
