What I'm at a loss at is finding a purpose for myself!

I can find entertainment, but that does nothing to make myself feel less aimless.

...Having a purpose is... a really heavy burden. Sometimes, it feels like I can hardly bear it.

But... do you really need a purpose? Couldn't you find joy in something simple-- trying to learn as many new things as you can, or trying to enjoy your life as much as possible?

I want to have a purpose to strive for. It gives me something to do and ensure it won't be pointless in the end.

A purpose is only a burden if you are not used to it. Without it, I feel useless.

Wouldn't it make sense to make your new purpose to protect the people of Hinoto-Ri? Not as Yamato, or a Hotsuin. But as Miyako.

I don't want my work and sacrifice to be for nothing in the end. The people of this city haven't prove themselves in my eyes yet.

By ensuring they don't allow themselves to grow complacent, weak and corrupted. I will admit they are a little better than people in my home world, but the only thing tied me to them is debt.

That sort of thing... it's possible it could happen over time, but for now, isn't it better to save them first?

It's true that corruption could destroy the city even if we save it. But if we leave them to suffer instead, they won't even have the opportunity to try to create a better city of their own.

Unlike you and others, I don't easily believe in people. The opportunity will exist for them to improve themselves, but whether they actually will do it is another matter.

At this rate... can you really say they will? We've been attacked by so many of those greater demons, and if it weren't for Visitor intervention, the casualties would be much worse.

If we don't help them now, they won't even be able to prove themselves. To be able to learn and grow to fight back by their own power.
