[OPEN] Death rays are a girl's best friend....

Who: Agatha Heterodyne and you
Where: Sagittarius Ward
What: A new arrival in the city takes charge of her situation
Warnings: SCIENCE! (Also action brackets because I am the laziest ever.)

[Agatha is blaming the strange dream on a side effect of lack of sleep and suddenly being shoved through Tweedle's ridiculous door. Right now the question is where that door has taken her. And what happened to the other three people who fell through it with her. Tweedle could be lost in time and space forever and she wouldn't care, but Violetta and Krosp she was a little concerned about. Not to mention the state of things in Mechanicsburg. But there wasn't much she could do about that now. First things first though, she needed a weapon....

So people who happen to be near some of the darkened warehouses may hear strange sounds coming from one of the alleyways. Clanking metal, odd whirring noises, crashing sounds. Those that dare to venture closer will find a woman holding what appears to be some sort of gun made from various bits of scrapped machinery. Her back is to the mouth of the alley, so she hasn't noticed anyone yet. She twists a small dial on the side of the gun and fire it at the trash dumpster. The alley is bathed in a bright flash of light, and when it fades the dumpster is nowhere to be found. Agatha nods in satisfaction.]

Could use some work, but it'll do for now.

A computer is a general purpose device that can be programmed by the user to carry out a set of arithmetic or logical operations. That was the original use, anyway. Modern computing is far more versatile than that, and tends to be used for nearly every purpose imaginable.

Clanks... I assume you mean some form of primitive robot?

I suppose it would. Even among robots, there's a wide variation in complexity and construction.

I'd be very interested to see that. I'd offer to let you see my current project, but I'm afraid it's behind restricted access.

It's a machine designed to give a complete readout of the physical and mental health of the person connected to it. I've been attempting to repurpose it to study the Persona phenomenon, but it's unfortunately too large to be convenient for that application.

Something that can be easily carried on one's person would be fine. I don't see any way around having to connect the subject to the device via electrodes, but as long as the unit itself could be easily strapped on under the clothing or attached at the waist, that should be more than sufficient.

Mine is constructed piecemeal using individual components from the best modern medical equipment available. If you think you can improve upon the design and help me with the size issue, I can most likely arrange to have it transported to one of the abandoned warehouses in this district. There should be plenty of space to work there.

Give me a week to make the appropriate arrangements. I'll let you know when everything is ready. Expect the designs and my notes to arrive on your COMP in the next 24 hours.

This.

[Fumi deploys the communication visor on her own COMP, pointing at it.]

Everyone who arrives in this town is fitted with one upon arrival. It functions via nanomachines embedded in each user's body, and programmed to respond to your gestures and thoughts. There's also a watch component that you'll be given once you check in at City Hall. Together, they act as a remote communication device, but can also be used to store information like the computers I described earlier. They're really quite convenient.

Several districts over. I don't mind taking you there myself, I suppose.

Certainly.

[Fumi smiles, leading the way toward the Leo District.]

(ooc: We can call it there if you want, Fumi's just going to get her set up with City Hall stuff. Unless there was more you wanted to have them discuss, in which case I'm fine to keep going.)
