The Fall of Passholdt [Closed]

What: The trapezohedron is acting up again, and four lucky winners get a free trip to see the final days of Passholdt. That is unless they do something about it.
Where: The town of Passholdt
Warnings: Monsters, mad science, possibly revenants. Also bracket spam because I'm lazy.

[Wherever you were, whatever you were doing, you felt a sudden and strange pull. The next thing you know, a flash of light washes across your vision. When it clears, you find yourself next to the gate of a large, walled town nestled in between several high mountains. Behind you is a canyon, with a single bridge reaching across and connecting the town to the road of the other side. Looking up, you can see a sign above the gate. Passholdt.

The town itself is bustling with activity, people buying, selling, working, cleaning.... All the things that make up a normal day. Careful observation will reveal that both the architecture and clothing are old fashioned. Anyone with enough familiarity with history might place them in the late nineteenth century.

What do you do?]


{{OOC: Basically just tag away. I'll be keeping tabs on it, and whenever you reach something that requires my input (Like talking to townsfolk, exploring various areas in detail, etc.) I'll chime in. For the purposes of general roleplaying, feel free to assume that the town has all of the things a normal European town from the 1890's would have. The local specialty is fried creme. I see them. I have enough oversight to bring down two of them before they notice, but the rest will likely scatter. Opinions?

Let's watch a while longer. Perhaps we'll be able to see where they're coming from or some pattern to their movements.

Maybe t-they're not harmful! I mean, what if we attack them and they turn out to be good...?

I'd say let it happen for now...we still don't know what those things are.

Sam has a point, we need to know that these are our culprits. I'll keep luring them, you guys be prepared to strike if I say so.

[Being uninterrupted, the creatures skulk closer and closer, closing the distance between themselves and M'gann. A closer look reveals them to be thin and wiry, with over-long limbs that end in nasty looking claws. Sharp teeth can be seen gleaming inside of their mouths, and their eyes have a dull red shine to them.

They seem poised to strike.]

[M'gann turns to the creatures.]

May I help you gentlemen?

[From the way they suddenly freeze in place, it's obvious they weren't expecting that. People don't usually notice until it's too late.

.....

But there's nothing they can do about that right now, so they lunge forward, trying to grab her.]

Idiot!

[Fumi's voice rings out across the psychic link.

...Well, nothing for it now, since their cover is blown. Stepping out from her hiding place, Fumi summons Lugh and Tao Tie.]

Moving quickly, Sarah fires a pair of bright blue lasers at two of the creatures before jumping off the roof. She didn't aim all that well, just sort of pointed her gun in the general direction of the targets, but the lasers actually curve towards the targets.

Homing lasers. Huh.

As Sarah falls, she goes ahead and summons her Persona, a spectral wolf draped in chains.

"Baring my teeth at the end of the world! Fenrir!"

[One of them is struck by the lasers and shrieks in pain, clutching at a smoking wound on it's chest. The other one that was targeted manages to dodge so the laser only strikes it's arm. These creatures were not designed with strength or endurance in mind. Speed and stealth are really all they have going for them.

And with stealth having failed, they scatter. Two fleeing into dark alleys and a third running for the outskirts of town. The fourth and final one is still busy with that smoking chest wound. But he might not be for much longer.]

Don't lose them!

[Without a second word, Fumi and her demons turn to pursue one of the creatures that ran for the alleys.]

Especially not the one that's leaving town!

[M'gann shakes off the shock of being assaulted.]

Got it.

[She drops her disguise and begins to fly after the creature headed toward the edge of town.]

As Sarah lands, she strides over to the one she blasted, kicking it over and placing one foot firmly on its torso. Looking at the one that Fumi isn't pursuing, she decides on a course of action and directs her Persona.

"Bufula!"

I-I'm chasing them too!

Okay, which one, which one? It was pretty obvious that they were dangerous, so which one would he go after? After a moment of deliberation, he moves quickly in the direction of the other figure moving in the alley. Maybe he could corner it and take care of it that way.

[The injured one isn't doing too well, and it's likely to cause much of a problem with it's pathetic struggles. Of the two fleeing down the alleys, one of them is hit by that bufula and shrieks in pain. It manages to dart around a corner though. Sam might be able to catch up though, if he keeps pursuing.

The other is trying desperately to escape Fumi. It runs through a narrow gap between two buildings, hoping to lose her.

The one heading out of town keeps running. It seems to be headed toward the bridge.]

[The one running from Fumi is up against pretty bad odds. With Tao Tie out, she and her demons can attack it from much further away than they would normally be able to thanks to its Chaos Wave ability. Lugh, hot in pursuit and easily the fastest of the three, throws its spear at the escaping creature. There is a crack of thunder as the spear transforms into a wicked bolt of lightning and goes whizzing off toward it.]

[Yeah, he'll keep pursuing. And now that he thinks about it, nobody is really paying that much attention to him now, right? Plus, it's nice and dark, and all he has to do is reach out with something that isn't an arm...]

[Once he feels he gets close enough, something akin to a thin, dark tendril suddenly whips out of his chest, trying to grab onto the creature like a hook surrounding the neck of a tiny caught fish.]

[M'gann will enter camouflage mode and continue pursuing the creature running towards the bridge.]

Guys, this one's going towards the edge of town. Should I keep following him and try to find out where he's going or take him out?

Trail him. Chances are he'll lead us right back to wherever he came from.

[It shouldn't take Fumi long to clean up over here before she's able to join the pursuit anyway.]

[M'gann will stay back a ways to avoid being noticed and continue to fly after the creature.]

[The one trying to escape Fumi falls to the blast of lightning, and is still.

When Sam turns the corner, he'll find the alley suspiciously empty. Closer inspection will reveal a grate that had been pulled up and a hole leading down into the sewer.

M'gann will see the one she's chasing run halfway across the bridge, then suddenly crawl over one of the sides and climb into the darkness under the bridge.]

[M'gann flies over the side of the bridge to keep an eye on where this creature is headed.]

[Great, he missed, but...oh, what's this? Ha, the thing thought to escape? If he was human, yes, he might have second thoughts.]

[But since he's not...well, this is a piece of cake.]

[Don't mind if Sam slips down there in the sewer easily to see what he can find there. And like he's going to tell the others about this-he doesn't want a chance of them discovering what he really can do.]
