Chaos.

There was no other way to describe the mood in the city, the streets filled with civilians attempting to huddle to the closest safe havens. The demons who had walked a fragile alliance with humans, previously content to stay underground due to the fact that they knew they would be pushed back, suddenly filled the streets - attacking on sight when they saw humans showing themselves to be weak. The darker monsters among them relished in this new opportunity, ignoring humanity's pleas and destroying what little remained of the city's peaceful sanity.

Everywhere, the city was a tumultuous mixture of those still stuck in their childish forms, with some back to their older selves trying to fix what they could and reestablish electrical power and barriers. Some demons, siding with humanity despite everything, aided them by keeping the others at bay. Personas were out in full force, swarming the skies and pushing back invaders. But it simply wasn't enough.

Without a network and all of the news outlets completely silent, everyone was left to fend for themselves... and it wasn't pretty.

The Visitors had to act as fast as they could, still in their child forms or not. There was so much to do, and without any directives. No intel sent to their heads explaining the situation. The Wise Men facility was silent. No one seemed to be answering...

[OOC - Here is the City Page. Your character can be anywhere and either look for clues, help people out or simply try to defend themselves. Remember, there is no electrical power right now, and most of the areas of the city are dark.

It's up to you to decide what to do. Shall you go save civilians, reestablish power, go to the MAGI headquarters? The choices will affect the game. There is a planning post in the OOC comm, create teams, decide what to do and help save Hinoto-Ri by following this link. Just know that, tonight, someone you might have thought an ally will declare themselves a foe.

Right... Why don't you go in the house for a minute, okay?

[He isn't convinced she'll listen without question, but it's worth a try. Carefully, he takes a few steps towards the alley.]

[She almost agrees. However...]

What if you need help?

[There's so much going on, and she already noticed something he had missed. What if it happens again, and in a dangerous situation at that?]

I'll be fine. I-- ["Would like you to stay and watch the supplies" is what he wants to say. But he can't keep watch over her if she isn't with him.

The dilemma is an unkind one.]

... I need you to stay behind me. And if I tell you to, you come back to the house. Okay?

[She gives a scared, but still determined nod.]

Okay.

[And as if to prove it, she shuffles close behind him, still gripping the naginata tightly.]

[It's hard to listen for both her tiny footsteps and whatever might be lurking in the alleyway. As they draw closer, something clangs to the ground in front of them.

A stray cat darts out from the alley, stopping only to catch a glimpse of the pair before disappearing into the chaos of the night.]

Just a cat..?

[... Isn't it?]

But... it sounded like a voice.

[So... where's the human?

Not here anymore, as it were. Because instead of a person, what comes leaping out is a Kobold, snarling angrily at the two. Aoi promptly gives a shriek of terror.]

Remember what I told you!

[Otonashi takes a step forward, raising the sniper rifle to aim. The Kobold lifts its weapon in turn and prepares to leap again from the boxes its standing on, intending to gain momentum for a stronger snipe attack.

It's really a matter of who can snipe first. Otonashi pulls the trigger as the monster leaps, pulling back from slight recoil.

Sharp movement makes the shot less precise, but also throws off the Kobold's attack... slightly.]

[She's scared. She's so, so scared. She's never fought for real before, and she's never tried to hit a moving target. They were all just made of harmless straw, stationary and silent. This screaming monster is none of that, and it's with no protest at all that she backs off immediately, her naginata raised in highly improvised defense.]

[The kobold staggers back as its feet touch the asphalt, blood pouring from the new wound in its thigh. Otonashi remains braced on one knee as a fresh bruise, already red and swelling, forms on his shoulder. It hurts to get back into place, but he positions the scope and fires again.

The kobold's screaming doesn't stop.]

[Before the kobold tries to attack, though, a strong ice attack lands on the enemy before a figure flies in out of nowhere to land a strong hit with his weapon. Another member fighting against the monsters, things should get easier! ...Right?

Unfortunately, with this new fighter in the scene, which turns out to be Noda when you take a closer look, a few more kobolds show up at the scene.

Apparently Noda just made things a little more difficult.]

Aoi shrinks back from the fighting, wanting to do nothing more than put her hands over her ears and close her eyes. It's so painful, so scary...

She looks outright relieved when Noda appears, but only for a second. The fact that he's brought along even more kobolds just has her hurriedly stepping back in her terror.

"Look out!"

[With Noda's added assault, the Kobold succumbs to its gaping wounds, crumbling under the weight of its battered body. Even without Aoi's cry, Otonashi whips around to face the new crew of Kobolds preparing to avenge their fallen comrade.]

Aoi. Hold onto me!

['I can't turn away to watch you,' he thinks as he loosens his grip on the rifle, leaving it to dangle around his neck in favor of the less-involved handgun.

His freed hand is Aoi's to hold.]

Come on, we're driving them away from the house! [The Kobolds lunge in for Noda, one of them aiming to crush the halberd-wielder's skull under the weight of its rust-tainted weapon. (shh, don't say "that skull is empty")]

[But that skull is mostly empty, other than violence and fighting and Yurippe.

Noda's too busy fighting off the group of Kobolds to even pay attention to the two. He knows there's a house there, so at least he's doing his best to keep the monsters from getting even closer. But with a number of Kobolds versus one fighter with a persona, Noda definitely is getting some damage from the hits, as well as perhaps one or two of them starting to realize there's other people around.]

Tch..! Amarok!! [He calls forth his wolf persona and uses his one and only area attack of Swift Strike.]

Aoi obligingly hangs onto Yuzuru's proffered hand, her grip quite tight. It makes it difficult to keep a hold on her naginata, what with now only having one hand for the long weapon, but she allows it to rest over her shoulder with her free arm wrapped over it to keep it in place.

She'd wanted to help. But like this, she's just getting in the way, too terror-stricken to do more than what she was told when confronted by the demons.

His fingers curl tightly, reflexively, around hers. Though he had planned to move them in, the panicked squeeze on his hand is enough to deter him. He can't, he can't, not with her scared like this and not when he cannot the beasts to let her retreat safely. Instead, he raises his weapon and fires several shots into the body of a Kobold, rendering it helpless before it can land another blow on Noda.

Another catches sight of this and heads for the two of them. Truly, it was only a matter of time before Aoi was recognized as a weak point...

"Be ready to run," he mutters, just loudly enough for her to hear.

The shots gives Noda some more alert around his surroundings, and finally notices Otonashi and that little girl he talked to earlier together, with some Kobolds heading their way and he was unable to get them for there were still a couple more left that were still focused on him. He could only do so much at a time, so he focuses on finishing off the two with a strong swing of his halberd, throwing them off their feet before flying in the air for a few feet.

"Why is a little girl outside!? Get her back in!!" He hollars at Otonashi, turning to run after the ones who had changed their target.

"U-uh-huh." Even though he probably can't see it, she nods, somehow finding a way to hold on even more tightly. She winces slightly when the other boy shouts at them - she really shouldn't have come out here after all, should she?

"You say that like it's that easy!" His grip tightens. It's too harsh for such a small hand, but it's the only outlet to express that clenching, gutteral fear that twists up his stomach.

Another round of gunshots slows down two of the Kobolds rushing in, but it isn't long before he turns tail and rushes for the door, just moments away from scooping Aoi up completely into his arms. He's not above it, and --

No. He has to stay. A Kobold attempts to strike the pair from a distance, but the aim is just slighted enough that they're spared.

”Sorry, Aoi..."

Otonashi thrusts the girl in the direction of the house and turns sharply, digging his heels into the dirt. He doesn't meet her eyes again.

"Block the doors off. Stay with Avitus, and don't let anyone in. Go!"

And while Otonashi is taking care of Aoi, Noda continues to attack at the horde of Kobolds, resorting to his persona to do most of the attack now.

Not being used to using one, though, it's clear Noda's stamina is depleting quickly the more he cast attack spells.

Aoi drops the naginata as she's shoved into the house, hardly noticing as it rolls slightly on the stone flooring. Although she quickly turns to protest, she sees those Kobolds again, and it sends a quake of fear through her.

"...B-Be careful!" The words sound so pointless. Even though she's young, she knows that just words aren't going to save them. But nevertheless... She shuts the door, hurrying to find something with which she can block it.

Shouldering past the Kobolds is a dangerous affair, one that nets him quite a few scuffs and another swelling bruise on his back to even him out. Ignoring the dulled ache, he switches back to the rifle and aims at one of the beasts, just as it gears up knock Noda off his feet.

The shot is a precise enough one to render the monster dead on contact. If it weren't for the adrenaline in his system, Otonashi might stop to be disturbed at just how used to this he is. Sentiments of morality will have to wait, though, as he acts as long-range backup for the purple-haired boy.

At least as long as the Kobolds he bypassed earlier don't draw too much closer.

Noda's secretly glad that the Kobold had been shot to death; he was definitely going to have gotten a critical damage if it had not been killed quickly as it had. He continues to beat up the rest of the group as those whom Otonashi had passed started approaching from behind. Luckily, he notices them before they got too close; unfortunately, he didn't have his usual gun on him out of all times. Not having any time to think, Noda grips his halberd before turning to face Otonashi's direction...

To throw the halberd blade straight at one of the Kobolds that was about to attack Otonashi. The bladed weapon cuts through the air and lands right in its mark, stabbing deeply into the Kobold.

"Take care of those around you first you assist!!!" He yells shortly before getting a nasty hit from one of the remaining Kobolds.

The Kobold falls back, hitting the ground with a sickening, wet thud. The redhead turns, torn between the monster left standing behind him and the ones that remain by Noda, locked in their assault.

He has no time left to hesitate. Pulling back, he grabs the halberd and crushes his foot onto the deceased beast, ripping the blade from the body and nearly toppling over from the weight. The other Kobold lands a clean hit on one of his hands, very nearly disarming him. Knuckles split open and bleeding, he grips the polearm with his other hand and drags it towards Noda, abandoning the enemy.

Noda's halberd is not a weapon that Otonashi can effectively wield, but he manages to get one weak swing in. It's only enough to stun the attacking Kobolds, more a distraction than anything, but he looks up to Noda, his trembling muscles all but begging the other boy to take it.

While his main weapon was by Otonashi, Noda resorts to using his Stechkin APS. Since he hasn't practiced with his firearm as much as Otonashi, his aim is not as accurate as he'd like.　So when Otonashi came up to his side, he gladly retrieved the bladed weapon from the other.

"...We've managed to cut the number down... but even I cannot hold off if any more show up." Noda said, his breathing ragged from his stamina low. Even with the increased defense carried over by his persona, he had received too much of a damage from too many demons.
