Chaos.

There was no other way to describe the mood in the city, the streets filled with civilians attempting to huddle to the closest safe havens. The demons who had walked a fragile alliance with humans, previously content to stay underground due to the fact that they knew they would be pushed back, suddenly filled the streets - attacking on sight when they saw humans showing themselves to be weak. The darker monsters among them relished in this new opportunity, ignoring humanity's pleas and destroying what little remained of the city's peaceful sanity.

Everywhere, the city was a tumultuous mixture of those still stuck in their childish forms, with some back to their older selves trying to fix what they could and reestablish electrical power and barriers. Some demons, siding with humanity despite everything, aided them by keeping the others at bay. Personas were out in full force, swarming the skies and pushing back invaders. But it simply wasn't enough.

Without a network and all of the news outlets completely silent, everyone was left to fend for themselves... and it wasn't pretty.

The Visitors had to act as fast as they could, still in their child forms or not. There was so much to do, and without any directives. No intel sent to their heads explaining the situation. The Wise Men facility was silent. No one seemed to be answering...

[OOC - Here is the City Page. Your character can be anywhere and either look for clues, help people out or simply try to defend themselves. Remember, there is no electrical power right now, and most of the areas of the city are dark.

It's up to you to decide what to do. Shall you go save civilians, reestablish power, go to the MAGI headquarters? The choices will affect the game. There is a planning post in the OOC comm, create teams, decide what to do and help save Hinoto-Ri by following this link. Just know that, tonight, someone you might have thought an ally will declare themselves a foe.

I'm not leaving! [The reply is instantaneous, too sharp as it comes on before he even has time to process that he's speaking with a person, not a monster. That signal comes later when he abruptly pulls away from the scope, completely, utterly stunned that he had been willing and ready to shoot another human being.

Not just ready, but a second away. No hesitation, no consideration of other possibilities, no logic. He would have killed a man and only realized his error after the fact.]

I... I didn't...

[It feels as though his blood is running cold, icing his chest and suffocating him.

But his moral conflict proves to be a weak point as a demon overtakes him, the adrenaline-driven gunshots coming moments later in a panicked flurry.]

[Noda finally realizes who he was talking to the moment Otonashi replies, but by the time he's able to turn to actually face and take a better look at the other, he hears some shots go off. He's still unaware that Otonashi was actually trying aim at him, but that detail can wait for another time.

Luckily, a few out of the large group of the mobs are affected by the Confusion status, and starts attacking its allies. As soon as the big portion of the enemy gets disoriented and distracted from attacking, Noda dashes over to the redhead in attempt to slice the demon into pieces.]

[Even in his panic, he manages to land a point-blank hit into the shrouded demon's face, causing it to recoil away from the pinned redhead. Covering its bleeding wound, it curls its free hand (paw? claw? nobody could say for sure in the poor lighting) and lands a solid punch to Otonashi.

It's more a hit out of unabashed fury and spite than one intended to kill, and it's the last thing it manages before met with Noda's halberd blade. The screeching is enough to make one's skin crawl. Blood gushes from the growing wounds, the vital hits mercifully drawing the beast closer to its end.

Disoriented but not out of commission, he fires a last round into the creature's skull to ensure death and the demon will quickly meet.

One down, a few to go.]

[As soon as the monster on top of Otonashi is down, Noda immediately turns to face the remainders to keep an eye out. The opposing group hesitates for a moment, which Noda takes advantage of to direct a little of his attention over to the redhead to speak.]

Have you been wandering aimlessly on your own all this time?! [He doesn't notice the supplies the other had gotten together yet.]

It's - it's not aimless.

[But alone? That would be a resounding 'yes.' What he doesn't mention is that traveling alone through the city is an improvement from his former position:

Traveling with kids.]

Do you know how long this is going to be happening? Because I don't!

Unfortunately, I am not sure myself. When I realized what was going on, the entire city has been overrun by demons. It appears the network is useless once again as well.

[He never saw the network stuff as being that useful in the first place, and when they need to communicate other people the most it's offline again. Figures. Yes, he tried to use the communication device a little while ago. Surprise!

The demons, now turning to both of them, start snarling and growling before starting to rush towards the two's direction.]

You are the supposed leader, how do we get out of this situation?

[Yes, Noda's actually depending on you for a plan, Otonashi!]

[An agonizingly long silence follows. He wants an easy out, something that involves watching and waiting instead of fighting indefinitely. He wants to say 'we wait,' he wants to think something will give --

But there it is. He holds no faith in that himself, so he cannot expect someone -- much less Noda -- to believe that something else will change their situation.

He takes in a slow, chill-bitten breath.]

We don't 'get out.' Be ready before the 13th hour and meet me by the Phoenix school.

Alright. But... [He turns look at the demons still remaining, drawing his brows together.]

Do we fight these? [Even he knows if they kept on fighting they'd just wear their stamina out to be left for dead.]

No. [There's no hesitation.] If we stay here, more will swarm by the time we finish these. Let's -- let's back off. Come on!

[He fires a few shots to distract the enemy, ignoring the trajectory of each shot. A hit doesn't matter now; he only has eyes for their escape. A short run brings them to a run down alleyway laden with debris and rotting garbage. It's a rathole, quite literally, but it's coverage on three sides. For protection, it's perfect.]

[And the monsters do get distracted, directing their attention towards what they think is another intruder into the fight. Noda watches the monsters search as he quickly follows after Otonashi.]

It seems like the city is under complete chaos. [He takes a quick survey of the surroundings outside the alleyway before moving back to prevent from their hiding spot found out. He sets down his weapon to take a breather. While he's not completely out of breath, he needed some time to rest up; he had been fighting against demons ever since the break out, after all.]

So what is the plan? You have mentioned meeting at the Phoenix school.

[He does remember the existence of the Guild, but he's not bright enough to connect the dots.]

It was that... that reporter. I thought he was just a civilian...

[But so did everyone else. Otonashi presses his back to the filthy brick wall behind him, letting his head fall back against it.]

We'll talk about Tokudome later. The office is in the Phoenix school. We need to find out if it's been compromised by the demons, salvage any weapons or supplies, and head for the guild. The guild area only appears during the 13th hour, so we need to hurry.

[He swallows once, hard, and looks out into the chaos just beyond the alley.]

I don't know if there's any way to contact Hinata right now, or if he's even okay...

[Noda is somewhat glad that Yuri had gone back before this place had gotten worse... Not that he didn't believe in how strong she could be. The situation's awfully similar to the time when the Shadows appeared, and it would be a lie if he said he wasn't worried of Yuri's well-being during the time Yuri had gone down to the guild.

He doesn't speak of this though; he does remember this Otonashi in this world had never experienced the Shadows.]

Hm. Alright. [There's a small worry of whether this plan would succeed with just the two of them, but he quickly shoves it to the back of his head. He was a combat member in the battlefront, and he will do whatever it takes to make this plan succeed. He wasn't going to die here!]

...Would the traps in the guild be activated? [He's heard of the guild, but he never confirmed whether the traps were still good.]

[Otonashi can't consider failure. He has to see them getting through, even if he's reaching for an illusion.]

The power grid is down. I don't think all of the traps can work. [The laser trap is probably out, and perhaps the falling ceiling will fail to trigger. But...]

... Some of them might. I -- ah, I really need you to remember where they are. [That's code for 'don't get killed by your own trap.']

Hmph. You expect me to remember any of them? [Noda gives a scoff, folding his arms across his chest. He looks so proud of that...]

Let's see if you are correct about the guild's situation. We would be in a worse situation if you are wrong.

[WHAT.]

Yes I expect you to remember! Didn't you help build them?!

Yes I did. [But that doesn't mean he would remember them.]

It does not mean I know of the specific locations of the traps. What do you take me for? [Some smart guy?]

But you--! [YOU PUT THEM THERE, HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW.]

F-fine, forget it... [He slams his head back against the brick in frustration and brings a hand to cover his scarred eye.

So done with your stupidity, Noda.]

Let's just wait for an opening and stay with the plan. If we have to, I'll make a stop at the Misato home shelter and get a light and first-aid kit.

[Noda gives another scoff as Otonashi gives up on arguing regarding the guild condition. When he mentions Aoi's last name, he turns his attention to that.]

Is that woman alright? I have not seen her for a while.

[Yes, he's showing his concern about Aoi.]

[Don't call Noda an idiot, don't call Noda an idiot, DON'T CALL NODA AN IDIOT...]

I told you already... she's a child right now. And she has a name, you could try using it.

[HNNGH DON'T CALL NODA AN IDIOT.]

Look, there's a break in the monsters. Are you well enough to go?

You have told me that already. [Noda gives a "are you dumb" look. He doesn't forget things spoken to him that easily ~~maybe. who knows~~.]

[Maybe he would have if he asked for names! ..But this is Noda we're talking about.]

... Noda! Yes, you have! That girl at the house? The one who was out with me? That was Aoi.

[The time spent recuperating seems to have been enough time for something to catch their scent. The two-headed beast leaps from the rooftops, quickly cornering the two boys.

Fight -- or try to make a cunning escape?]

[The answer is clear for the purple-haired one; as they're cornered, Noda quickly steps up in front of Otonashi, gripping onto his halberd as he directs the blade to the Orthrus. Irritation is clear as he hasn't been able to recover as much as he wanted, so he's going to throw.]

You're not getting away alive!!

[Noda's overestimating his own luck and strength.]

[It isn't difficult to see Noda's weakened state. Taking on a monster of this caliber now seems too dangerous, and yet Otonashi is hesitant to risk bringing out the rage in Noda.

The redhead dodges to Noda's side rather than staying behind him and raises the rifle.]

Oi, oi! This way! [The aim is just so to land a hit directly into the monster's right eye. The beast screeches as blood sprays from the wound. It digs its claws into the pavement in agony, blindly swiping at the two.]

[Being tired made it less likely for Noda to complain and rebel. When he sees Otonashi's shot hit the eye, he gives a small smirk.]

Nice hit.

[Compliments, from this halberd idiot?! More likely thank you think when he's a little worn out. While the demon is howling in pain, Noda sends Amarok in to use Double Fangs.]

He nods sharply, his focus still captured by the howling beast. Amarok's attack knocks it back, leaving it open for another shot to land in its soft underbelly. The monster's reactive howl sounds molten, entrenched gutteral rage.

It summons flames, beginning to ramp up for a Fire Dance.]
