"Well, thank you... but that goes for you too, you know." She's had a glimpse of his memories too, after all.

"If you're cold, why don't we go inside and warm up? Long winter nights like these call for coffee."

[otakuro]

"Aha... That's..."

He trails off, looking a bit melancholy now as he glances away.

"Not like you. But, um.... Yeah. Definitely. Let's... do something together."

[greatseal]

"Come on, then! My dormitory's just around the corner."

She clearly hasn't noticed the eye color change yet...

There comes a faint pause at that, though it isn't obvious enough or noteworthy enough to be really suspicious.

"Is it alright if we just go to a coffee shop? I... feel like being around other people right now."

[greatseal]

[She tilts her head slightly, but it seems a reasonable enough request.]

Sure, okay. Then we should go in the other direction. It's not Chagall Coffee, but there's a pretty nice place down the street.

[otakuro]

He pauses once more, and then --

"You... You don't have to do this, you know. I know... you feel like you have to do this kind of thing for everyone, but..."

He trails off there and casts his gaze to the ground.

She shakes her head.

"I do it for 'everyone' for the same reason I want to do this for you. You're my friend and I like spending time with you." Especially now that he seems so troubled.

[otakuro]

"Is that... really true?"

Deep questions here. The boy glances up with a slightly saddened smile.

"You did something for the sake of the world... and for everyone on it. You have so much to worry about already... aren't problems like this just a burden for you?"

[greatseal]

Her smile falters slightly at him bringing that up, but only for a moment.

"I just do what I can, you know? When there's someone I can help right in front of me, I can't just ignore him."

[otakuro]

"But then... are you helping because you care about me? Or because... this is what you know is the right thing to do? You always do the right thing... right?"

There is an almost pleading tone to this question, but he would, perhaps, prefer to hear the truth.

She's really starting to wonder what could've happened to make him feel this uncertain about himself. "I can't say I always do the right thing. I'm just a person. But because you're my friend and I care about you, I want to help."
