It's okay. I'll take care of it!

[A teenage girl in a shrine maiden's outfit flies through the air towards a group of demons.] Dream Sign "Duplex Barrier!"

[She closes her eyes, concentrating and with a series of hand signs and gestures in the air she erects a magical barrier around the demons that shoots a storm of ofuda on them from many directions. The demons are unable to dodge and are quickly dispatched.]

Are you alright? Please be careful. It's really dangerous out here.

[She smiles reassuringly at the person she just rescued. She seems like a nice enough person, though it's a little creepy how her eyes are all golden.]

[Nano gasps at the explosion of energy - she'd been blindsided and cornered by more demons than she'd expected, so she's certainly grateful for the help.]

Th-thank you!

[She smiles and bows to Nano]

It's no trouble. I'm just glad to be of service.

I don't think we've met before, have we? Are you new to the city?

[She nods.]

Yes. I arrived a few weeks ago.

Oh! Welcome to Hinoto-Ri, then! I hope it hasn't been too bad for you... it can be hard getting used to this place.

Thank you. This place doesn't really seem so bad, so far. Though it is a little distressing, as it seems I might not be able to go home right away. My job back home is really important, and I'm a little worried something might happen while I'm gone.

[She frowns a little, then smiles again.]

It's alright though! I'll do what I can to make myself useful until I can go home!

Ah, I really should ask for your name Miss! I'm the Hakurei Miko.

It's all right, nothing will happen while you're here. I'm not sure how, but no time passes in our own worlds while we're in this place.

[Nano looks a tiny bit sheepish as she admits that, since she has nothing in particular to back it up aside from word of mouth, but hopefully it'll set the other girl at ease.]

It's good to help people, though! And it's good to meet you, Miko-san. My name is Nano Shinonome.

[Polite bows all around.]

[The miko blinked.] Oh Really? Thank goodness. That certainly does make me feel a bit better.


[She bows back.] It's very nice to meet you too, Shinonome-san!

[And then she looks up again.] I guess since I don't really need to worry about going home just yet, maybe you can help me with something else? If it's not too much trouble of course. It's just, there's someone here I'm looking for right now.
