Teaching

Who: The Silent wolf and you (open)
Where: Capricorn ward
Summary: Garviel teaches people how to fight with guns, blades, hand to hand, and everything but silly personas pretty much.
Warnings: Manliness, possible combat, a lot of talking.
[Loken waits, a few spare blades and a few longarms and pistols in a fairly careless-looking pile beside him, holding his chainsword two-handed, almost challenging anyone to approach him and learn. He is 8 feet tall, and an imposing figure at the edge of the plains, just before the forest.]

As the player's iTunes plays appropriate music Pit ducks underneath the fist, dashing towards the blades, connecting them quickly as he dashes towards the ground. He rolls, and aims, and fires three very powerful shots in Loken's direction.

Hooray for magic super homing arrows.

Pit blinks, his eyes going hazy for a moment before snapping back into reality. "I--what?"

The fire of determination that had blazed in his eyes is gone, yes, but so, too, is the seemingly innocent flippancy. Instead, he just looks confused, and a little guilty.

He looks to the ground, to the bow in his hand, and rubs his hair with his free hand. "Sorry."

He knows that's not going to work for trying to kill someone, because that's what it was. An attempt to slay him. He'd lost himself there, back to a time that wasn't now.

He's not the helpless, sniveling little thing he was before. He never was. And he didn't have to prove himself to anyone, especially not this stranger who didn't believe in anybody.

That's what he thought, anyway. That's what he told himself. Clearly that motto wasn't working.

His first urge is to give in to that defensiveness that got him into so much trouble. He has discipline. He's captain of Palutena's guard! People don't rise to such ranks if they lack discipline!

But he lost himself. There was no denying it. If Loken's advice had come from the hard-worn truths of battle, then so had Pit's lack of discipline. If he didn't fight back, he died. It was that simple.

No. That wasn't it.

If he didn't fight back, he'd never see her again. That was it.

He pushes himself to his feet, dusting the dirt off his tunic. "I'll be more careful next time," he says, subdued.

Pit shakes his head. "I think I've had enough for today."
