Summary: Garviel teaches people how to fight with guns, blades, hand to hand, and everything but silly personas pretty much.
Warnings: Manliness, possible combat, a lot of talking.
[Loken waits, a few spare blades and a few longarms and pistols in a fairly careless-looking pile beside him, holding his chainsword two-handed, almost challenging anyone to approach him and learn. He is 8 feet tall, and an imposing figure at the edge of the plains, just before the forest.]

Sorry if I'm late at all.

[Yu stopped just before him, taking his hands out of his pockets.]

How would you like to do this?

Choose a weapon. And then I see how good you are with it.

I already have one.

[He reached into his school jacket, pulling out the laser sword he'd been using since he arrived.]

Interesting. May I suggest something less flashy to begin? [ He gestures towards the pile of blades. ]

[Something less flashy...?]

[Well, fine. He retracts the laser blade, and he was very sorely tempted to extend the bludgeon rod instead, but he doubted this guy would find it funny.]

[Yu went over to the pile, poking through the blades until he finds one that's similar to what he used at home. Only bother was, it was a little on the heavy side, even for him; he needed both hands on this.

Begin. [ Garviel takes a defensive stance, holding his chainsword. He keeps it deactivated for the moment, using it almost like a big toothed club. ]

[Yu assumed his own stance... which obviously screamed, "I had to defend myself against Shadows with a golf club, so I winged it." He's no professional by any means, especially with a sword that's heavier than his usual. That doesn't keep him from charging forward as usual, ready to strike, and...]

Thy footwork is horrid...

[Yu fumbled at the last moment at the sudden voice in his head, barely compensating in time to at least pretend he meant to do that.]

Something wrong? [ He pauses, staring at Yu. ]

[Yu managed to bring himself to a stop, taking a breath.]

...it's nothing, sorry. Perhaps it's better for you to start off.

[greyerrant]

[ Garviel steps in with a thrust, trying to test Yu's defenses. ]

[Yu stepped to the side, moving to block--]

Thy footing ist unstable. He will knock thee down.

[...and once Garviel's sword hit his, there was enough power behind it to shake his unstable leg. He went down, rolling to get out of the way of any follow up attacks.]

Stand up, mortal. Something is wrong with you.

[Yeah, I have a persona that's suddenly very chatty.]

[Izanagi had no comment, and it was a good thing, because Yu might have actually gotten angry if he had.]

Sorry. I guess fighting against people is different from fighting against Shadows.

Of course. Every foe is different.

Yeah... and Shadows aren't very smart...

[Yu lowered his sword, debating apologizing for wasting this man's time...]

Thou ist capable of much more than this. The truth is easily seen through thine eyes, if thou merely look for it.

[Yu let out a sigh, his grip on the sword tightening. No... he never gave up before, and now would be a bad time to start.]

Sorry... would you mind if we started a little slower?

You mean you want to go back and re-work your form? it appears you may need to.

[Yu let out an exasperated noise.]

Yeah, I... never learned properly. I had to fight, so I picked up a weapon and fought.

[greyerrant]

We have a lot of work to do.

[Yu inclined his head respectfully.]

Please teach me, sir.

Lets start with your stance. [ He walks over and shifts Yu's legs with movements of his hands, not asking permission, just altering how he stands. ]

[Yu probably would be more bothered by this if he wasn't already used to men trying to grab at his legs. Damn you, Nyx.]

[Besides, this was important. Yu watched where he was putting his legs, frowning slightly as Izanagi let out a sound of approval. This was right? It felt so different from the usual.]

[...Izanagi, what the hell. How was he still alive after all those Shadow fights?!]

Now, hold that stance for 5 minutes. I'll count down with my chronometer.

[ Loken steps back, making Yu stand in the corrected stance for the full 5 minutes, watching him. ]

[F-five minutes? He couldn't remember the last time he had to stand still in battle for five minutes. Yu didn't show his exasperation about this on his face, but man was he flipping tables in his head.]

But it's good practice.

[Izanagi, hush.]

4 minutes. [ Garviel continues to count down, watching him. ]
