Who: Pit. Open.
Where: Capricorn. (His headmate is not happy.)
Summary: Pit takes out his aggression on random monsters during the 13th Hour.
Warnings: RAAAR and I'M GONNA KEEL U

Pit's in a bad mood. That's why he's out in Capricorn during the 13th Hour with a bow he's using to beat up monsters with, at close range--when he isn't summoning Perseus to do that for him. Pit's pretty agile, but he can't take on a bunch of monsters on his own. Well, not without his persona. He's not thinking about back-up in the form of a sparring partner, 'cause it's whenever he thinks about other people that he starts hitting monsters the hardest.

You'd think he'd be happier to see familiar faces from home!

"Alright..."

Latooni began walking cautiously toward the sound of battle anyway, just in case. It seemed like Pit had gotten the attention of most possibly-hostile things in the area.

"Why do you need to blow off steam?"

"People back at home," he says, casually slicing a monster in the crosshairs of his blades.

"You mean like Viridi? Did more people you know show up?" she asked, finding a vantage point to look down on Pit's battlefield.

Wow, he really was good at large groups.

"This guy named Dark Pit. He looks almost exactly like me, except his hair is black and he wears a black tunic. His voice is deeper, too."

Perseus appears above him once more, launching an Aeon Rain against the monsters. It takes out quite a few of them. The rest he picks off with his bow.

Yes, he does actually use it for ranged attacks...

"That's a...that's not even a coincidence, is it?" Latooni observes. "What's his story?"

She finds a place on a hill to sit back and mentally goes over Vasilisa's abilities. She could help Pit's attacks if he found a tough one, or give supporting fire from this range without him needing to worry about covering her...

"He's my clone," he says, just as casually as he's spoken before. "There was this thing called the Mirror of Truth back in my world. It created a reflection of whatever looked inside it. Dark Pit was created while I was destroying that mirror. He's a reflection of my dark side... But he's not evil! Just prickly. Really prickly."

Oh. Clones. No big deal Arado had like six of them.

"I see. So...like a brother who's hard to get along with," she said. It sounded kind of like other peoples' descriptions of their siblings, really. Kind of. "Is he bothering you?"

"He doesn't go out of his way to, but... You'd think he'd be a bit nicer considering I saved his life."

"Some people are like that...," Latooni observed. "I'm sure he's grateful and just doesn't want to say anything about it. 'Rivals' can be really proud, but they're usually there when you need them."

She thinks on where she learned that information. "Or that's what Ryusei told me once. I don't know how consistent that is in real life."

"I guess--persona!" A group of monsters had gotten a bit too rowdy. He'd summoned a card, calling forth his second persona--the pixelated shape of an angel that seems to have come straight from a 1980's video game--casting Maragi to thin out the crowd.

"I mean, he saved my life after I saved his, but I dunno if that's cause he wanted me to live or if he was afraid of dying when I did. You know, self-preservation."

"Persona!" Unable to help herself, Latooni has Vasilisa drop a long-range icicle on anything that didn't fall to that fire spell, figuring if they were strong against fire they probably weren't against ice. She could have scanned their weaknesses, but it was a spur of the moment thing, and she could only scan one at a time.

"...Sorry, I was worried for a second," she said. "Um, well regardless, if he's you, or connected to you, why wouldn't he want you to live and be happy? That seems natural, not cynical."

"He only looks out for himself. He said so!"

"Well, I don't know about the situation in particular, but sometimes people hide their feelings by claiming to be selfish or angry," Latooni said. "There was a Japanese word for that, but I forget what it is..."

"Anyway, it's really bothering you that he might not like you, right? Because you're connected to him?" she guessed.

"Tsundere?" he muses. Don't ask him how he knows that. I-it's not like he's from Japan or anything...

"But yeah. I mean, he's the closest thing I have to a brother. Outside of Lady Palutena, I don't really have a family."

"But why wouldn't he feel the same way, even if he doesn't express it? Siblings normally have three quarters of their DNA and most of their childhoods in common," she says. "You and he are even closer than that."

"Plus, he's not evil, so that's a bonus over most of the clones I've seen of people. Um, that's not anything against clones, I'm sure that was just a coincidence."

"I don't know how people feel unless they say it! I can't read his mind, you know."

"And I don't know him, but..."

She pauses and thinks about it. She's not really sure Pit's situation is the same as hers, but it seems to be close, in a way.

"...if two people are like family, they'll always care about each other," she summarizes.

"I guess. I just...wish he'd say it sometimes."

"That, I completely sympathize with..."

Latooni looks around. The number of hostiles was a lot smaller now, at least for the moment.

"I'm going to head over to the Nadesico...do you need any more help?"

He shakes his head.

"No, I think I'm good. Thanks."

"Any time, Pit."
