Worst log ever
Who: Meetra and OPEN
Where: Pisces Floor 9 Laundromat
Summary: Laundry
Warnings: Mundanity
As much as she was concerned with unraveling the mysteries of this city, today was Saturday, and Meetra had learned that Saturday was the day for doing mundane chores you normally don't think about when working a steady job or saving the galaxy.
Particularly, it was a day for buying yourself more than one set of clothes, like after she first got here, or washing them, like right now. In particular, Meetra was out of her usual robe and wearing a black t-shirt and gray sweatpants that would probably be disconcerting to anyone she knew at home, or anyone who had wardrobe expectations of Jedi. On the other hand, they were comfortable enough to wear under her robe that it's not like anyone would normally notice. So attired, she was meditating on the circular motion of the coin-operated washing machine. And by meditating we mean staring at it.
"Something about this seems inefficient, but I can't put my finger on it..."

"Something about this seems inefficient, but I can't put my finger on it..."

Someone else had been watching the circular motion of the coin-operated washing mashine...for several seconds...and then...it just happened...it always does...
(Translation: that light rustle is coming from the kid sleeping in a nearby chair.)
no subject
...Meetra leaves the kid alone for a while, but once his machine stops, she's going to assume he wants to move his clothes to a dryer and try to gently shake him awake.

"We had menials for most of the maintenance of our non-armor clothing, where I am from. As you were a general, I expect you had similar privileges?"
He looks at the quasi-hypnotic washer
"At times like this I'm glad I wear very little other than mesh, a loincloth, and my armor. Uniforms and clothes seem very difficult to maintain. I am lucky enough to have a techpriest here to keep my armor in good condition."
And he has no shame in parading around in a loincloth most of the time, but since he's so dedicated to his duty people have rarely seen him like that. In this case, fortunately for meetra, he is wearing his armor.

'Please continue wearing your armor' is heavily implied.

"I was making conversation."

It seemed that a sleeping looking teenager was putting his clothes in the washer next to Meetra's and felt the need to comment on the joyous mundane tasks that everyone has to do at some point. After putting the coins in his machine and starting it up, he sighed and flopped back onto one of the benches in the place.

She turned to look at the kid. She hadn't met him before...'
"Do you live on this floor, too?"
Wow I am an idiot and somehow misread 9 as 6... whoops. Well....
He wasn't really sure. Just that it was flooded, and walking through water to get to the washers wasn't appealing to him, so he'd come up to try a different laundry room.
Happens all the time. Didn't mean for this to be closed to 9th floor people either

...okay, three. She had to buy the sweater and jeans she was wearing so she could wash her normal clothes.
"Hi, Meetra!" she exclaimed happily, dumping her bag into a washer. Okay, now how did this machinery work...

She paused, rocking back on her heels for a moment.
"...you know, this is the first time I've ever used 'money'."
no subject
She'd inferred as much from earlier conversations, anyway, even if she couldn't remember Rune stating that outright.

He felt exposed without his cape. He looked like a normal teenager again.
He stepped in to see a woman staring at the washing machine in a strange looking trance. Kazuya just gave her a passing look before claiming the unused washing machine next to her. Once he loaded up his clothes and turned it on, he glanced at the woman to see if she stirred at all during all that.
She hadn't.
...kind of creepy.
"You alive there or should I get a doctor to call the time of death?"
no subject
"You're the guy who was trying to use magic on my first night here, right?" she asked. She'd have recognized that strange mind anywhere, let alone when she's allowing her senses to wander.
no subject
Kazuya squinted before blinking abruptly.
"Oh! Yeah! Huh, I didn't recognise you without your cloak and dagger."

Which means that yes, all she was wearing was a wide bath towel with two pins holding it closed. That would explain why she was trying to rush by using two machines.

"Do you...need a hand, Shura?" she asked, not really sure how to react to this situation. "Or a robe?"

But enough about that, he flashed her his best smile.
"I don't think we've met before, chica! The name's Eikichi Mishina, but I prefer to go by my stage name, Michel!"

Please hold the applause. He didn't need it right now, that could come later.
"Well Meetra, would you like Michel to show you how they work?"
