A Dance in Vivacissimo for the Velvet Room

This time, there didn't seem to be a crisis, but nevertheless, the Velvet roomed showed up once again. As usual, policemen and WAND operatives protected the door, the rendezvous point was well guarded.

As they stepped in, the group weren't given much information as to what exactly you were heading into. Unless you've been a Guest before or had visited two times prior, this entire experience will be completely new...and even if you've been here, the experience is still new.



The bar is spacious and large. The place is oddly calming; as if all the troubles of the city have melted away and you're just drifting in the sea. A multitude of blue butterflies are flying on the ceiling overhead.

Now, for some of those who had been here before, there was something different this time.

The lights were mostly out, the dim bar setting made even more evident. The remaining lights, however, pointed to a musical setup. In the back, a single dark figure bouncing his head back and forth, as the sound began to fill your ears. The voice, for those who have heard her speak, sounds like Caroline was doing the background vocal work.

The Aria of the Soul...just served a little differently.

Now the full meaning of the Velvet Bar comes to fruition.

If you can spot Igor in the farthest corner (it's hard to see without the lights) he has...a pair of sunglasses? He seems to be pretty quiet this evening, and instead Caroline is there to great everyone as the music continues to play.

"Welcome to the Velvet Room. My name is Caroline...and this is DJ Velvet, my brother William."

He responds by raising one of his hands in the air and giving a V sign, before going back to mixing.

"This place exists between mind and matter... A room for those who gave forged a contract... For those who are here for the first time, you now must know that in awakening to the power of Persona granted to you by Philemon, you are bound to a contract. You are all now guests of the Velvet Room. You all have the ability to hold multiple Personas and wield their powers...a wildcard ability. However the rules of this world are rather...unique."

Her tone of voice was clearly much better than the previous two times. Caroline was gaining, slowly a bit more assurance in herself. She also seemed much more relaxed with William around.

"As you continue to live here longer and aid this ailing world, the connection and bonds you forge will reinforce your Destiny String, and allow you to truly unlock your full potential. As stipulated by the contact, we will aid you to the best of our abilities. I hope you find your stay tonight enjoyable."

Caroline then goes behind the bar and awaits for those who might wish to talk with her. Or perhaps you'd like to go see William first?

▶ To get a new Persona, you go to [HERE] (althought the post is still in migration, you can find the old list [HERE]) and pick a public persona, then fill out a request [HERE]. Remember you cannot get persona that belongs to someone else! You can request a Persona (or two if you are a previous Persona user) until the 29th of November.
▶ This time, requests can be given from either Caroline OR William [HERE] and remember you only get one request per month. You can request a Quest until the 29th of November, or wait until next month. You can only as one request and it can be either Caroline or William.

Maybe he will cross paths with other Shadows who had developed egos and Personas of their own, but indeed, for now he'll just accept the mute response he had received from the attendant with a helmet shoved onto his head. He frowns, "Ah... I see."

Well, if the resident of the Velvet Room wasn't quite able or willing to answer his question, that was that. Patience was a virtue. Pharos huffs a little, and turns to go explore the rest of this new version of the blue place between mind and matter.

The attendant holds up a single finger up as he starts to walk away in a please wait motion... and then gets close to him, before reaching for behind his his ear and seemingly pulling out a card out of thin air.



If Pharos turned the card over he could also read a single word;

Ego.

Perhaps that was the answer he was looking for.

Pharos pauses when the Velvet Room attendant gestures for him to wait, and almost stares in surprised confusion when William pulls off the 'card-behind-ear' trick, and hands the dark blue card to him. The small child looks at the front for a couple of seconds, before flipping it over and scanning the back wordlessly.

Otherworldly blue eyes settled on the single word printed on the card's smooth surface.

"Oh," he said softly. It was an exclamation of pleased understanding more than anything.

The attendant gave him a thumbs up. See? That wasn't so bad. Then before he can do or say anything else, he pulls out another card behind his other ear and gives it to him.



...uh that was clearly a card you gave to everyone. Clearly.

Pharos takes the offered card, chalking its sudden appearance from behind his ear to the powers of the subconscious realm, and considered the question printed on it. He glanced at William before answering quite seriously; "Blonde, or white I imagine."

Both of the previous attendants of the Velvet Room he had encountered hair of the lighter shades and the Master of the Velvet Room himself had thinning white hair.

Two cards this time, one in each hand, pretended by holding them in his middle fingers. A single word written on each.

Pharos stared at both cards in William's hand for a blank, careful moment before selecting, "White."

He made the two cards disappeared before another popped up with a hand flourish

As you have chosen.

And with another movements of his hands, he passed them in front of his head a few times, but as Pharos kept looking, suddenly his helmet just wasn't there anymore.

And William's hair was white. He gave the small Death a smile and then an exaggerated bow.

He giggled a bit and then mimicked the exaggerated bow, with much more restraint making it more the young child dipping the upper part of his body down while his legs remained straight.

"Do you change a physical trait everytime you ask someone what you look like to reflect their answer, William-san?" Since that was what the card he had held up, before causing his helmet to disappear into thin air, had indicated he had done.

With a grin, he flipped the same card he was holding that had white on it twice and now it said "Yes."

Another card, this time grabbed from the air, as he gave it to him.

"It helps to understand a Guest's personality."
