Who: Tournament Fighters and those who wish to watch them.
Where: Aries Arena & Televised
Summary: 1/16-1/22. Days of non-stop shooting and Persona battles! Players decide when the fight takes place.
Warnings: D-D-DUELS!
Grand Prix Frenzy had overtaken the city by this point.
We're sorry, you weren't technically part of the main show. However, perhaps, should this go well, they might be able to get you into the giant tournament itself next year!What can they say, the show must go on. And the ratings must be high.
The entire place was filled with cheering spectators and for those who missed out, the usual channels were going to post the entire thing live. Pay-per-view had extra shows and cameras. Or you could go to your local pub. Now that the main show was put on hold, they had all come to see one thing: and it was to see how these newcomers from otherworlds fared in their favorite sport. In a way it was showing the natural pride to them, and watching how they did at it.
Gambling wasn't allowed publicly. So naturally it flourished underground. Odds today were 1:1 for nearly everyone, those looking to make a lot of money were simply out of luck. Today was a day for watching.
From the side ring "Jay Queen" and "Bob Sternhammer", the two ringside announcer, excitedly begin the pre-game talk.
"What a crowd today Jay! You can feel and hear the energy coming right off of 'em!"
"A stadium of Ten Thousand filled to the brim! At the tenth anniversary, this promises to be a Grand Prix unlike any other!"
"Can't blame 'em. Hell, if I wasn't announcing this, I'd be ringside looking at the newcomers. For those watching at home, we're gonna remind you of the few ground rules."
"Tonight's matches are part of the main tournament, Outerworlders division. No returning champions, in fact, if you look to the left there, you'll see Flamin' HellDragon waving next to Seaside Dragoon. Last year's reigning champ, and the sexy female newcomer? Oh I can just smell the steaming flames of passion raising!"
"Haha and a kiss in public! Can you hear the crowd echoing their approval! At this stage they might take away from the real event!"
"Names are drawn based on known skill. Randomization is under the supervision of the Hinoto-Ri Lotto Society."
"Contestants pick their own Evoker ten minutes before the duel, and are asked to fire a blank shot in the air to insure security before it is scanned. Contestants then are brought into their isolation zones and are kept there until they are ready to be brought up to the ring. Since this is a double dual championship, contestants are brought together a full two hours before the tournament begins, and then will get to meet their opponents behind a locked bar twenty minutes before the show begins."
"Turns are taken, each allowed only one command from their Personas."
"As usual, Instant Death Spells are forbidden of usage. You may not kill your opponent. If your opponent is knocked unconscious, they have five seconds to get up. You are only allowed to attack your opponents Persona, even with your weapons and skills."
"Oh! Looks like the national anthem's gonna start."
There was some singing, as everyone stood up. After, the shouts became louder and louder, as a single man dressed in a tuxedo walked in, grabbing a futuristic microphone and speaking in it.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THE GRAND PRIX TOURNAMENT IS PROUD TO PRESENT THE OTHERWORLDER'S DIVISION! A SERIES OF BATTLES WITH STRICT SET OF RULES TO SHOWCASE THE NATRUAL ABILITY OF HINOTO-RI'S HEROES!" Dramatically, he leaned in closer, raising his hand as the crowd's enthusiasm broke into an even louder frenzy.
"LeeeeeET'S GET IT oooooooooON!"
The crowed cheered, as a series of fireworks and music tore off into the sky.
"This is Bob and Jay live from the Outerworld Demo Tournament! !"

BATTLE
Dressed up in their simple fighting outfits (Red for Team 1, Blue for Team 2), they could hear the crowd as they were slowly brought up.
"And welcome once again to the greatest tournament in Hinoto-Ri!"
"Right you are! For those just coming in today, know that due to the new privacy rules voted in last December 9AC, the private names, arcana, ages and zodiac signs of all fighters, both from Hinoto-Ri and Otherworlds are strictly prohibited."
"You'll need to check out Teenbeat Magazine if you want that stuff, folks!"
"...man is that a Jedi?"
"How can you tell?"
"Well just look at the weapon they're carrying. They might not have the robes right now but..."
"....Nerd."
"Oh and a returning warrior, who was also shown in Teenbeat magazine! Look at the crowd gro crazy."
There were screams from many males in the stadium about fire.
"And not bad looking opponents either..."
"At this rate the Otherworlders will win us all over just by their looks!"
"Beautiful, deadly women locked in a Persona Combat!"
"Better keep watching to find out who will win!"
"Your Tag-Team Matchup tonight! Your first Team! FROM OUT OF THIS WORLD, A POWERFUL WARRIORS FROM BBEYONG THE STARS! The Jedi Exile!!"
As they rose, music filled the coliseum, echoing into the night sky. An image was being displayed on all the telescreens, the nickname overlapped in special effects.
"And their Partner!! FROM OUT OF THIS WORLD, A DEADLY FLAMING BEEAUTY! The Flame of Fortune!!"
The music changed to fit the new arrival, their nickname taking the place of their partner before. The crowd roared.
"Ladies and Gentlemen...YOUR FIRST TEAM!!!"
They cheered on for a minute before the lights dimmed again, and the crowded hushed.
"Aaaaaand....THEIR OPPONENTS! A REFINED LADY! Priestess of the Healing Mirror !!"
From the other side of the stadium they rose, music playing as they did so.
"And their Partner!! FROM OUT OF THIS WORLD, GOLDEN HAIR AND A CALM LOOK! The Moonlit Mirage!!"
The final piece of music was played as they rose upwards to join the others.
"Aww man, I'm getting pumped already! If you've just come into this special, this is Otherworlds division matches. Currently we're at the start of the six, and it already promises to be interesting."
"And now they're gonna spin the wheel! The wheel spinning is done under the Hinoto-Ri Lotto Surveillance."
"And their condition!"
The wheel began to spin, as the stadium fell deadly quiet.
It was almost too hard to hear the two announcers with all the cheering but both looked extremely happy.
"Oh hell yes, another Otherworlder Boat battle!"
"For those who don't know about this, both teams are put on top of two opposing plastic boats with plants on each side, a pool of sharks below!"
"...the sharks are dolphins, but don't tell your kids, it's funnier that way" Wink.
They were all raised into the air along with the other, plastic boats appeared and each team was put on one, with enough room to stand properly without falling over. Below, the entire stadium opened to reveal a gigantic pool with a few dolphins swimming below. A team of three healers stood by in the wings.
"Those new to the sport watching we'd like to remind you that Contestants start close to each other, back faced. After that, they count to ten in this case since they can't move much, Evokers in the air."
"Reminds you of old American Wild West Duels! Crowd loves to count down until they start."
"After that, it's the first who shoots allows their team to begin first!"
Magaru > The Exile & Sasha
There's only a slight hesitation before she pulls the trigger, her eyes squeezed shut - only part with fear, the rest as she focuses on summoning her Persona.
"Moh Shuvuu!"
Her Velvet Room Persona appears in a blue light almost instantaneously. Her relief regarding the Evoker is set aside completely now, and she quickly gives a command. "Magaru!"
Cleave > Sasha
Atoli shows very little resistance to using the Evoker. Once, she might have considered doing something like this, that would end fatally.
She was over that now.
"Innis!"
Her normal Persona immediately rushes over to the girl with the fiery eyes, creating an orb of energy in its hand. The orb quickly lengthens into a cone, which strikes her with some force.
It's at that moment she realizes that her weakness is in fact quite relevant.
Force Push > Aoi
However, as she's buffeted by Aoi's wind attack and braces herself in the light boat, she realizes there's an easier path to victory than outright attacks. Once she recovers - and while Atoli's attention is on her partner, Meetra focuses her mind. Willing herself to remember that mass matters not, she sends a telekinetic ripple through the air and tries to shove Aoi backwards off the opponent's boat with the Force.

Barrier > Aoi and Atoli
However, she does manage to snap to attention quickly enough, her skin glowing with red marks as she creates a barrier around both Atoli and herself in order to block Sasha's attack. She's not certain who it is aimed at, but better safe than sorry.

"Plan B then," she said. "Persona!"
Meetra called out Vima Sunrider, who proceeded to mimic the same hand motion her summoner made toward Atoli. "You need to cool off in the water. So does your partner."
