Summary: 1/16-1/22. Days of non-stop shooting and Persona battles! Players decide when the fight takes place.

Grand Prix Frenzy had overtaken the city by this point.

We're sorry, you weren't technically part of the main show. However, perhaps, should this go well, they might be able to get you into the giant tournament itself next year!What can they say, the show must go on. And the ratings must be high.

The entire place was filled with cheering spectators and for those who missed out, the usual channels were going to post the entire thing live. Pay-per-view had extra shows and cameras. Or you could go to your local pub. Now that the main show was put on hold, they had all come to see one thing: and it was to see how these newcomers from otherworlds fared in their favorite sport. In a way it was showing the natural pride to them, and watching how they did at it.

Gambling wasn't allowed publicly. So naturally it flourished underground. Odds today were 1:1 for nearly everyone, those looking to make a lot of money were simply out of luck. Today was a day for watching.

From the side ring "Jay Queen" and "Bob Sternhammer", the two ringside announcer, excitedly begin the pre-game talk.

"What a crowd today Jay! You can feel and hear the energy coming right off of 'em!"

"A stadium of Ten Thousand filled to the brim! At the tenth anniversary, this promises to be a Grand Prix unlike any other!"

"Can't blame 'em. Hell, if I wasn't announcing this, I'd be ringside looking at the newcomers. For those watching at home, we're gonna remind you of the few ground rules."

"Tonight's matches are part of the main tournament, Outerworlders division. No returning champions, in fact, if you look to the left there, you'll see Flamin' HellDragon waving next to Seaside Dragoon. Last year's reigning champ, and the sexy female newcomer? Oh I can just smell the steaming flames of passion raising!"

"Haha and a kiss in public! Can you hear the crowd echoing their approval! At this stage they might take away from the real event!"

"Names are drawn based on known skill. Randomization is under the supervision of the Hinoto-Ri Lotto Society."

"Contestants pick their own Evoker ten minutes before the duel, and are asked to fire a blank shot in the air to insure security before it is scanned. Contestants then are brought into their isolation zones and are kept there until they are ready to be brought up to the ring. Since this is a double dual championship, contestants are brought together a full two hours before the tournament begins, and then will get to meet their opponents behind a locked bar twenty minutes before the show begins."

"Turns are taken, each allowed only one command from their Personas."

"As usual, Instant Death Spells are forbidden of usage. You may not kill your opponent. If your opponent is knocked unconscious, they have five seconds to get up. You are only allowed to attack your opponents Persona, even with your weapons and skills."

"Oh! Looks like the national anthem's gonna start."

There was some singing, as everyone stood up. After, the shouts became louder and louder, as a single man dressed in a tuxedo walked in, grabbing a futuristic microphone and speaking in it.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THE GRAND PRIX TOURNAMENT IS PROUD TO PRESENT THE OTHERWORLDER'S DIVISION! A SERIES OF BATTLES WITH STRICT SET OF RULES TO SHOWCASE THE NATRUAL ABILITY OF HINOTO-RI'S HEROES!" Dramatically, he leaned in closer, raising his hand as the crowd's enthusiasm broke into an even louder frenzy.

"LeeeeeET'S GET IT oooooooooON!"

The crowed cheered, as a series of fireworks and music tore off into the sky.


"This is Bob and Jay live from the Outerworld Demo Tournament! !"

An interesting situation, for once. Misery can't help but feel a little irritation at the fact she has any fondness at all for these fools. She reminds herself that they're all means to an end.

...but inwardly, she's still hoping Atsuro wins. He needs to prove himself after that humiliating loss last time, after all.

Hizumi is laughing quite boldly nearby. He'd expected the tournament to be entertaining, but not quite to this extent.

"Haha-! Poor guy. It must be tough, being a celebrity like that!"

And yet, his words don't carry a single sliver of sympathy.

She chortles with him. "Oh my, yes! It'll be quite humiliating if he loses, too. Oh deary, deary me." Oh ho, a fellow troll. Comrades in pointing and laughing, that's them.

"I wonder what the fangirls will think of that? I almost feel bad for his opponents! They might even set up an ambush in revenge..."

...Actually, that would be pretty funny, too.

"Or a pity ambush on their hero there. Almost makes you wonder who to feel more sorry for, hmmm? Ho ho ho ho!" Yeah, like she feels sorry for any of them. "Either way, nothing like a little complication to spice up an otherwise dull exercise."

She grins wickedly. "I like your thinking. I am Misery, the witch. And who might you be?"

"A witch, huh? I'm not going to get cursed if I don't give my name, am I?"

Not that he has any reason to withhold it from her, so after a short chuckle he adds: "My name is Hizumi Mizushiro."

"Charmed, I'm sure. Are you enjoying these barbaric little displays, then?" she asks, casually ignoring the fact she's going to be participating in said displays herself.

"They might be barbaric, but they're entertaining, don't you think?"

He leans forwards in his seat, trying to get a good glimpse of the actual participants instead of what's displayed on the screen.

"Hm... Looks like he's going for a video game machine--?"

...That sounds a little familiar, actually. Huh...

"Ah, yes. That's actually a rather useful device he has on him. Watch him, it'll get very interesting very fast."

She's trying to keep the tone of pride out of her voice. She's only MOSTLY successful.

"So I take it you know what it does?" He notes the pride in her voice, wondering vaguely what could have caused that. She must know Atsuro to be familiar with whatever that game system- no, tool? Was for.

[misery_hates_company]

"I might have seen him use it once or twice. Can't say I was ever interested in the specifics, however. I have little use for technology for the most part." She shrugs. "It has some... distasteful elements to it, but I suppose one does what one needs to in order to get ahead."

"Distasteful in the demon summoning kind of way, or something else?" His eyes are glued on the scene as he watches. He does recall a certain somebody talking about using video game systems to do that sort of thing, but who knows? Maybe this is a completely different one that magics up rainbows and ponies and butterflies.

Regardless, he's fairly confident in his guess.

"Oh my, perhaps you are familiar with the technology! Yes, he controls demons with it. Aren't we a talented guesser?" She eyes him. "Or... perhaps you've seen such things elsewhere?"

"If you mean in my world, you're mistaken!" He gives another laugh and waves his hand. "If you really wanna know, someone here showed it to me, but I didn't realize they were both from the same place. I don't know the first thing about summoning demons."
