Paradisus Perditaque

Paradisus Perditaque

What: Closing Arena Ceremonies
Where: Aries Arena & Televised
Summary: 1/24/10AC
Warnings: This could get serious...but who knows.

The last week and a half had been, at best, an insane blur of lights, colors, Persona and celebrations.

And while your own victories have been appreciated by the population, you are, after all, Visitors. No playing in the main competition. Not even proper brackets, you were just lucky to be allowed to be IN the tournament as a main show at all! It was a great honor, and you should accept it as such.

That's show business for you.

The main news that had been on everyone's lips was that the longtime champion, Blue Sky Dragoon, had been beaten by his long-time rival, Royal Red Lion for top honors this year. Red Lion (real name Bunrakuken Karube, although they couldn't say that in public due to the new rule this year) had created the biggest upset since the event's creation ten years ago. For him, it was a monumental victory, as it meant he would be, more or less, the hero for the city for the next year. For Blue Sky Dragoon, it meant his reign of five years had finally come to an end.

Needless to say, the second place contestant looked rather bitter as he was ushered into the podium for the main division.

In the end, there had been no interruptions. The entire Games had gone off without a hitch. Your efforts had been appreciated during the course, however, and you were all invited for the final closing ceremonies. Kiyoshi Suou was still on alert, unwilling to relax even a little.

For the most part, closing ceremonies were trivial, and, dare we say, boring. The energy from the tournament had been slowly declining, and by the third national song and a kabuki reenactment of the final battle between Dragoon and Lion, most were trying not to doze off.

And yet...you...as Visitors. There's a strange feeling around you. It's not the lack of energy from the civilians, no.

Something isn't right.

Unfortunately you can't prove that and you can't stop what's going on but...you can try looking around. But you should probably be as discreet as possible, all things considered. While you can't just search the arena during the ceremony, there is still the underbelly of the stadium, athletes you could talk to, policemen on the job...

...it's like trying to finding a needle in a haystack.

[OOC - Alright timeline of events: Tonight is going to be just mingling, assessing the crowd and seeing what you can find. Create closed or open posts, or just watch the show and comment between yourselves. We have some NPCs that can talk with you (anyone who has an NPC, or was given NPC info for this log are free to have them be around), or you can talk amongst yourselves; this is, after all a celebration, although an apparently boring one.

Once this post is done, there will also be a mod post going up with a few additions about what is going to go down tomorrow, and some announcements! Our tentative hour for the main event will be the 24th at 6-7PM EASTERN tomorrow. Be there!]

She laughed faintly. "It's sort of a vacation for me. Compared to the place I was at before, I mean. Though you're right about it being a lot of work."

She offered a hand to him, smiling at him from behind the fringe of her blond hair. "My name is Naminé."
recycleddestiny: (Each word gets lost in the echo)

... and that was a misfire from the wrong account. Go me.

"Hate to ask what your place was like beforehand," He replied with a small grin. He was still getting used to the idea of other worlds, though the whole situation of being brought here in the first place sort of confirmed that anyway.

"Masamune." He took the hand that was extended to him and gave her a firm handshake, even though he'd normally bypass formalities in most cases.

I admittedly laughed when I noticed Masamune had suddenly become a lady xD

She gave him a small, wry smile, deciding not to answer that with tales from the Facility. The implication was enough.

"It's nice to meet you, Masamune. You mentioned kendo-- that's a sword style, right? Are you from Japan like a lot of the other Visitors here?"

She had been itching to ask him ever since she'd caught sight of him. His outfit reminded her of the military outfits from Mulan's homeland, though a bit more colorful. It was a pity Sora had never visited Japan in person-- she had been wanting a truer glimpse of it ever since she visited the Mysterious East at the Facility.
recycleddestiny: (How's that working out)

You found out his secret, Naminé: Masamune's secretly a woman.

"Yup, I've been training in kendo for a while now - since, hell, middle school, actually." There were a lot of people that were surprised that he decided to take it up, especially considering the obvious lack of depth perception from only having one usable eye.

"And yeah, I am. Born and raised," he added with a nod.

gaaaaasp

Her eyes grow bright at his words. She had read up a little bit on 'kendo' and other Japanese sports and martial arts, and had been especially fascinated with the concept of the dojo.

"It must have been an amazing sight, practicing in tandem with others. I've mostly had to practice alone or with only one or two other people, but a whole group of people moving with perfect precision...the artist in me wants to see it and draw it."
recycleddestiny: (Everything always works out)

Masamune can't help but laugh. An artist type, huh - he could see where she would be fascinated with the fluidity of it when they're doing drills. Personally, he preferred the thrill of fighting someone one-on-one fight, but to each their own.

"Can't deny it hasn't been fun, though."

"Is there a dojo here in the city? I wonder if they'd let me sit in and draw them..." She turns to Masamune, her eyes growing even wider than they already were, if that were possible. "If not, would you be able to model for me?"
recycleddestiny: (I can't roll over; don't know how)

[personal profile] recycleddestiny 2013-02-08 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not that I've seen so far, though that might not be a bad idea to look for one," he replied, tapping his chin with a finger in thought. Of course he'd still be doing his training with Otoha, but at the same time, it might be nice to get some formal practice back in. That and having more opponents to work against would probably do him some good.

"Huh? Model?" That earns a surprised blink, though he's definitely flattered.
charmedbymemories: (✖ do you see me?)

wow this his horrendously late, I'm sorry

[personal profile] charmedbymemories 2013-03-02 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh yes! You wouldn't have to do anything like staying still for hours on end or anything like that. All you'd have to do is do what you do while you're at practice in the dojo." She looked up at him hopefully.
recycleddestiny: (It's what makes us who we are)

pfff, no worries!

[personal profile] recycleddestiny 2013-03-03 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, that's better than I was expecting, at least. Heard enough gripes about guys getting cricks in their necks or something along those lines when doing modelling." Even if Keiji didn't exactly say anything about it after the fact, the fact that he nearly got whiplash one day when someone tried to yell for him halfway across the room after he got out of a modelling session for one of the art students on campus was enough to tip Masamune off.

"But ... eh, why not. No harm in it."

"Oh no! It's counter-intuitive to me, having you be so still when it's your movements I want to draw." She clasped her hands together excitedly. She'd had Sora and Riku be models before, but they had usually been content to sit still for her. This would be her first venture into sketching figures in motion. "Thank you so much! When would it be convenient for you for me to visit?"
recycleddestiny: (Kept respect up; the best they fell)

[personal profile] recycleddestiny 2013-03-08 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Uh ... probably during the weekend, honestly. I've got class during the week." Though thinking on it there was also his training from Otoha, and he was pretty damn sure of two things.

1. It wouldn't be cool to see him getting his ass kicked, and

2. Otoha would likely kill him for bringing someone else along to their training sessions.

So yeah, weekends were probably the safest time.
