The Search for the Newcomers, Feburary 2013 Edition.

Who: Open to Everyone, but only Newly Accepted Characters can start threads.
Where: All around the city! They appear where you want them to appear.
Summary: Newcomers arrive and by now the Government is more ready and sends everyone out to go people hunting.
Warnings: ARRIVALS. Also assume the first thread is the ones who tell you about the city, and the other tags for the character can be talking with others in the city and learning more about it.

[FOR THOSE IN THE CITY:]
There was still so much cleanup to do. What a perfect time for your HORUS detection systems to start warning you that another group of people were forthcoming.

The device allowed everyone to spot abnormalities; and while it was being re-tuned to work with the appearing buildings, they could hone in on newcomers at a much faster pace. The leftover energy from the travel (commonly called Magatama Residue) gave them a few minutes to find them before it would flicker out.

Combined with the fact they could appear in most parts of the city, it made finding the newcomers was both easy yet frustratingly difficult.

As the blips appear on your own radar function, it was also nice enough to calculate for you the best transport and destination routes to take to get there. Speed was of the essence, after all.

[FOR THOSE WHO JUST ARRIVED:]
You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[OOC: As stated above, only new characters can start a thread, but feel free to jump in any of them. characters arrive with their clothing and whatever items they had on them the moment they were taken; the remaining items will be later found in their apartments.]

[...Hm. He'll bring up the "Kaito" point later. For now, he was gathering that the children of possibility had grown closer to his other self than he had ever expected. Friends...the thought fills him with a warm feeling, one that promptly cools down when he remembers that they were friends with Saiduq and not Alcor.]

U-Uh... [Now look what you've done, you've gotten Daichi second-guessing himself.]

Are...we not? [Uh oh, did he step over some kind of...star..space, etiquette rule?] I mean-- I don't see why not? You did kind of help us out a lot, and I don't really understand everything that's been going on lately, but I would.

[....] Uh, I guess from your point of view that's a whole other question though, huh....

That is not it. Honestly, I am honored that you would think of me as such.

[No, he meant the whole...Septentrione thing. That thing. It's just that...how...friends??? Does he think of them as friends...? At this point, he's not sure. Wasn't he supposed to be their enemy? Simply because of who and what he was, with no choice in the matter.

Still, if Daichi Shijima was willing to call him a friend, of his own volition, it was far preferred to than being called an enemy.]

[Wow, he sure perked up fast. At least he's grinning again, no matter how awkward he may feel.]

Then I don't see why we can't be friends. So uh, if anything's up, let me know, OK? It's what we're here for.

[The both of them are feeling equally awkward right now, but that's fine by him.]

[A smile on his face lingers, until he's decided on something. He's...going to be honest about it. Honest and upfront about something for once, what a surprise. He was going to address the "Saiduq" point, but that was a conversation for a later time, and the earlier this misunderstanding was cleared up, the better.]

Then...would you mind disclosing what knowledge you possess of "here"?

[He already got the rundown, but...it couldn't hurt to gather more information.]

Hm? Uh, sure.

[Man, why does everyone always ask him to infodump...! Augh it's a good thing he's used to it by now.]

This city's a place called Hinoto-ri. Apparently everyone that's not native was brought here by that butterfly guy to help protect everyone. No one's gone beyond the city wall's before, and apparently the world's been destroyed... I dunno. [Sigh.] So he's the one that gave us these Persona things, which are supposed to be reflections of our inner selves, which we can use to fight. Kind of like a demon, I guess. Only...in your head.

I see. Your information is most helpful.

[A sigh. He runs the information over in his head, and makes a note to speak to him...self...about it later.]

You have been here for quite a while, have you not?

Huh? Yeah, I have.

[He was happy to help Saiduq out, but the question kind of confused him for a minute.]

It must be... almost six months by now? Time sure flies, heheh... But I met you when we first got here with Kaito and Yamato, remember?

[He shakes his head. Six months...six months with Saiduq existing. Six months of learning about humans, about their culture and their wishes and their freedom. Six months more than he had...ah, the woes of living on borrowed time.]

...No, I'm afraid do not.

[Honestly, Daichi's concern was touching, but there was no need for it. At least, not in Alcor's opinion.]

[Even though Daichi tried to shake him out of that mindset a few minutes ago...old habits die hard. He trails off a bit at the end, debating how to go about this...]

The steam was released as quickly as it was there however, and he looked at Saiduq curiously.] Come on, what's up?

[He crosses his arms, and lets out a small sigh.]

...I am not the Saiduq you know of.

[Blunt, yet not. Precise yet vague.]

[Vague... not exactly one of Daichi's strong points!]

What do you mean? Is this another one of those weird timeline things?

Alternate timelines, yes. Are you familiar with the concept, now?

[Especially since Saiduq is around, and it seemed that this place pulled people from a multitude of them.]

Uh, sort of. I know Kaito, Io and I remember following your plan to stop Polaris, and Yamato remembers us taking Ronaldo's plan. I guess you're kind of like that from one of those other possibilities...?

[He nods, though he sort of makes a face when he hears "your plan to stop Polaris"...he never had such a plan in the first place! Yet all three of them followed "him" anyway...? That's...reassuring, in a strange way. If they managed to stop Polaris, then Alcor wouldn't have to die for the sake of serving the administrator. It was a comfort of sorts, to know that in at least one timeline, there is a better fate waiting for him, even if it's not the same "him". And he'll use that knowledge to console himself.

...But he's also going to have quite the talk with his other self, isn't he?]

Ha...correct. You are not as incapable as you believe yourself to be, Daichi Shijima.

[It's not exactly a mirthful "ha", but rather, a bit of a weary one, as he closes his eyes for a moment and gives him a small smile afterwards. And he does think that of Daichi, especially since he saw Daichi asking Fumi (or even Alcor himself, in some cases!) about the Akashic Records about resetting the world. He saw him drive a truck into Dubhe...and overcoming his doubts to save Hinako. He's got to be doing something right, if the Shining One chose his path all the time. There's a reason that he would want to explain his viewpoint to the human teenager, even if he didn't shine as brightly as Kaito/Hibiki/whatever they're calling him now.]

...Especially since the Shining One chose to follow your path, in the possibility I hail from.

[There...there it was again. The other Saiduq, the one that was already here, had said the same thing, but. How could...]

The other Saiduq said the same thing, but-- I didn't have any ideas! Not like Ronaldo or Yamato. I just wanted everyone to stop fighting...

As did the Shining One, it seems.

[Well, it worked. Watcha gonna do, Daichi?]

[...With teeth gritted, more likely than not. Though thankfully from what he saw, Ronaldo and Yamato weren't...at each other's throats anymore. Less than before, at least.]

[He sounded pretty incredulous-- though, was that a hint of pride there?]

Well-- What happened?! What did we do? What happened to Ronaldo and Yamato?

[He debates whether to tell Daichi of the failed timelines he went through, but decides against it. Daichi was sounding a bit proud of himself (good!), and Alcor wasn't too open about himself in the first place, much less with those repeated timeline incidents. And dying repeatedly. Focusing on what happened in the Triumphant route would be the best course of action, yes.]

You planned to restore the world to its former state, prior to the calamity.

...Ronaldo Kuriki and Yamato Hotsuin both agreed to cooperate with each other.

[Seriously, if this was anyone else speaking, anyone would think that last statement was a joke.

His smile widened considerably. Restoring the state of the world...well he hadn't really thought about that himself as a full thought, but getting Ronaldo and Yamato to cooperate? And both of them not dead?! Well that was basically the best news ever!]

Haha, you've gotta be kidding me! You mean-- I actually-- My idea got them both to work together?! I mean, I don't really expect them to be friends or really get along but-- seriously?! It worked?!

[Well, there's...one person dead, aside from all the failed timelines, but like hell he'll bring that up now.]

That's right. Having faith in each other and acting in concert is as strong a show of will as any display of force...and with all your human hands, I believe the future will be a bright one.

[Even if he's cautiously optimistic about some of it (namely, Polaris' continued administration), he saw them overcome their doubts in the Fate links...all level 4. (Except for him.) Overcoming doubts is not an easy task, and if they somehow kept their memories, they would surely become stronger, perhaps strong enough to change the world in all their own ways.

Strong enough to prove that the world will not become as saturated as it was before. Hopefully. Who knows...? ~~Watch Break Record completely joss this.~~]

[OK. He really couldn't contain himself any more. He seemed like he was about to burst with happiness right now, and allowed himself a small arm pump down in victory.]

Heheh--! Yeess--!! [He-- he did it--!]

So what happened?! I guess that means we managed to go fight Polaris even more effectively, right?! And we got it and the other Septentriones to leave us alone, right?

Correct. With your combined forces and wills, you should be able to face the administrator, and create the future you desire...

[If he's perceptive...he might notice that Alcor's not talking in the past tense, but...as if he's not quite sure what will happen next.]
