Summary: After the Anoli speech and the governmental censorship of Yosuke's post, Gale decides it's time he goes to see what's out there for himself.
Warnings: We are so breaking the law here.

The Anoli speech had intrigued him, and the sudden censorship of a post on the Network had cinched it for Gale. He needed to see for himself what lied beyond this city, and not accompanied by government officials or Anoli members. But how to announce his intentions without attracting attention? Even private networks and filters on the COMP network were most likely monitored by the government. Luckily, his Persona came to his aid in his time of need, in the form of the CommLink skill. He could simply call other Visitors he knew telepathically! Which is what he was doing right now as he chewed on a leftover piece of the demon he had hunted down the night before in prevision for the trip.

"Comrades, hear me out. If you can hear me and would like, like me, to know what lies beyond the city limits, please come to Pisces, eighth floor, room oh-four as soon as possible." He swallowed and closed the fridge door securely before licking his lips. Here went nothing.

Desco is being SUPER DISCREET, because she really does understand the importance of stealth! Her tentacles have been absorbed into her back, she's actually - shudder - closed the eye on her forehead and let her hair cover it, and her fake mustache is firmly affixed to her face.

MASTER OF DISGUISE.

Currently she's staring out the train window, her tail wagging with delight.

For the trip, Miyako leave behind her katana. Her preferred weapon would attract too much attention, but she would make due with her hidden knives, skills and her demons. She's currently dressed in her civilian clothes, opting for anonymity over her more official looking uniform.

Miyako seemed almost bored, but she's watching and listening carefully.

Finally, they arrive, after Gale has wondered again why Desco has a moustache attached to her face. He is the first to get off the tram, and he looks into the distance as he waits for the others to join him.

According to the map, there is not even a kilometre between here and the border.

Latooni slips off for a moment to find an isolated place to evoke Vasilisa, checking for anyone she'd register as an "enemy".

A few minutes later, she meets up with Gale and nods an all-clear.

Good. Gale slips along the deserted street with his cohort in tow until he reaches the city limits. He had had an idea of what he expected to find there. What he does find is both surprising, and not.

There is a forcefield there. When he tries to move forward, it pushes him back. He expected as much; to be allowed to leave is not something he thought would happen. The forcefield warps and distorts any image of the other side, making it impossible to see what is out there.

On the other hand, he had not expected to see what he sees right now. There is life here. Demons run rampant, of course, but here on the outskirts of town, there are humans. Life is much harsher here, that much is obvious. People are not as well-dressed, compared to people in the city. Houses are much less nice as well. And there is the demon problem to deal with as well...

Gale can't help but wonder if the inhabitants here are people who opposed the government.

Latooni records all of what she can see, wishing she had the instruments necessary to measure the strength of the forcefield.

"People live right out to the edge here...," she observes, quietly filming some of the human residents going about their business. "Do you think any of them have seen around or through this barrier?"

"The best way to know is to ask," said Gale as he went to do just that.

Unfortunately, the people living here seemed mostly hostile to the visitors' presence and refused to answer questions, even openly avoided Gale and Latooni.

Should we keep this going or have we found what we're going to find?

"...maybe we should have brought someone who's better at diplomacy..."

This was still interesting, but not terribly enlightening...

"Yes. We seem most unwelcome." Gale turned to Latooni. "We should leave for the time being."

She nodded. "Maybe we can come back with better scanning equipment than just a camera, too."

"It would be a smart move on our part," he said as he began walking back toward the city. "Of course, this must be done without attracting the attention of the government... we have much thinking to do to further our exploration of this city and its world."
