Cherry Blossom Festival (May 4-6)
Who: EVERYONE
Where: Central Park (Capricorn Ward)
Summary: Open - Post-event log for everyone!
Warnings: Nothing
The battle was over, and the city was busy licking its wounds and trying to repair for the next few days. Amidst all of this commotion, however, Golden Week continued and with it, the weekend and next Monday was a day off to enjoy the Cherry Blossoms. And despite the fighting that had been going on, Hinito-Ri continued to adapt, and enjoy what little time that they could.
After all, fighting for such beauty did make you a lot more appreciative of it.

Tens of thousands of trees dotted the park's landscape, but it was the Cherry trees that were the stars of the weekend, the pink petals creating a heavenly smell only enhanced by the small stalls that were busy selling hot yakitori (grilled chicken on sticks), takoyaki (octopus balls on sticks), shioyaki (Salty grilled sea bream on sticks ) and kakigori (Shaved ice with syrup, not on a stick).
The prime picnic places were being taken and families grouped together to eat homemade lunches and bento, but there were still many spots and trees to go under should you wish to do so with friends. Townsmen would nod towards you, knowing that you had helped last week, young couples walked hand in hand, and many young students sat under the trees, reading books or playing games.
In the central area, Shinto monks had set up a O-Mikuji area, where you could-- for a mere 10 yen-- hope that questions on love, family or fortune would befall you favorably.
The danger had passed for now. Life continued to flourish.
Enjoy it well.

G-- Wha-- Saiduq?!
[Yep he's still got a bad habit of calling both stars by that name, it was a hard habit to break, alright! Especially when he was currently having a heart attack.]
W-What are you doing...?!
[Jerk.]
no subject
...Daichi Shijima?
[Ah, he thought he timed it so that...nevermind. He'll simply have to face the consequences. And Daichi, literally.]
Ah, my apologies.
no subject
G-Geez... I think I almost had a heart attack...
[He gripped his chest, but he was proooobably exaggerating.]
What're you doing up there?
no subject
[From a distance. It's all he can bring himself to do...]
no subject
...Not that. Anyone'd ever accused Saiduq of being normal before, so uh, what was his point again now.]
Uh-- You, OK and everything? You didn't get hurt too bad, right...?
[You know after the. Fire truck thing.]
no subject
I am fine, you needn't worry about me. But as for the others...I cannot say.
[Alcor puts a hand to his mouth.]
...You have my deepest gratitude, Daichi Shijima.
no subject
[The last comment though is...surprising?]
Huh-- what, for ramming you with a firetruck? [He's pretty sure that'd only get like, a minor level of praise at the least...] I mean I'm happy to help, but...
no subject
[The power of a sword of the absolute is not to be taken lightly, after all. Especially when, shall we say, unrestrained...]
no subject
[No, of course that's right, duh. Yamato and Miyako had been in trouble-- that was basically all he really processed before, er. Hit the gas pedal.]
Well, uh-- you're welcome! I guess. I was probably just in the right place at the right time, but I'm sure any of us would make sure you wouldn't... you know, go on a crazy murder spree. I'm just glad you were durable enough to take it.
no subject
Nevertheless, I am glad you were strong enough to stop me.
[Because really, he wouldn't have cared if he actually died then. Better to die of one's own choice than to die a mindless monster.
Dying of your own will. That is the one and only absolute freedo-]no subject
[He laughed with a surprisingly light disposition as he admitted to something like a federal offense, and shrugged his shoulders.
He really needed to. Stop that.]
no subject
but what if he gets a prize for ramming trucks into staraliensThe corner of his mouth lifts a little, Daichi's lighthearted disposition helping him somewhat. Ah yes...it was rather unfortunate for Dubhe, but, well, it was a testament to human ingenuity at least.]
Then at the very least, I must commend your bravery.
no subject
Then he better be getting an achievement for all this!!Daichi still wasn't too great at taking compliments-- especially the weird crap that Saiduq ans Saiduq always said--, but hey, even if he had gone a little loony, he was still kind of proud of himself for certain parts of the night.]
Heh, thanks...! It's surprisingly easy to keep driving straight when you had a giant government vehicle and may be partially brainwashed. 9 out of 10, would recommend it.
no subject
damn right he will]Though I do hope you won't have to do it again.
[Since...yeah. Stop being such a downer, Alcor.]
no subject
[ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED: BY GOD DID YOU TRY]Uh... [His expression seemed a bit crestfallen; aw man, he didn't make Saiduq sad again, did he...]
D-Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be fine! I mean, what're the odds of something like that happening again?
[...]
I mean, happening, again to the same people.
no subject
[Lots of possibilities exist.]
That was not the first time the populace had fallen under the influence of the zodiac, yes?
[Alcor knows the inevitability of fate and its overwhelming bad-end possibilities very well, perhaps more than almost anyone else they can think of it. But, in his own contradictory way, he believes in the ability to defy it, too. How strange.]
no subject
Uh-- yeah, that's right. Some time last year, like they said, this giant scorpion monster attacked everyone.
[Er...] T-To be honest, last time I was too scared shitless to do anything about it, so I guess different things happen to different people each time...
no subject
kind of like AlcorHe nods. He's already done his homework on the topic, of course.]
I see. Tell me, does this unpredictability bother you?
[Because it sure as hell bothered him...and many others, it seemed. While he did encourage people to defy expectations and fate, it was hard to do that without knowing what their fates were. Hence, Nicaea.]
no subject
At least with the Septentriones, JP's as sort of able to predict when and where they'd show up, even if we didn't know what they did. But this stuff just kind of seems totally random.
[Or, he wasn't smart enough to find a pattern. That too.]
no subject
More likely than not, a pattern exists. We simply have not been able to find one yet.
[Movement of the stars, etc etc.]
no subject
There's uh... something to do with the Zodiac I guess? Is Taurus supposed to come after Scorpio?
no subject
[He said it so bluntly, too...]
But there may be another connection between them we may have missed.
no subject
[You know what better not to ask..........]
Uh... like what? I don't really know anything about this stuff... you have any ideas?
no subject
No, I'm afraid not.
[To be fair, the entire reason he was at the festival is to take his mind off of such things, so he wasn't putting as much
anguishthought into it as he normally would. That would be saved for later.]no subject
I guess there's not much we can do about it for now, then, unless someone gets a great idea. [Preventative measures never really did seem to work out for them, did they] Maybe next time won't be as bad?
