▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

 

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

The Taurus monster had come and pass, as had Golden Week. The city was rebuilding itself, and with the aid of the Visitors, progress was going swiftly.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safey, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside during the next few nights and let the city police and Visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get a little momento from home.

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[ This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts.

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too! You are, of course, not required to reply here. You can do your own independant log if you'd like!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

[ Nope, she definitely doesn't notice anything around her - this statue, as creepy as it looks, is rather interesting. Maybe she should try moving a little closer? But she's not entirely sure what it is, so she reminds herself to be cautious, so that she's not caught unaware if anything were to happen --

Well. Spoke too soon. ] Gods-! [ She jumps noticeably, quickly spinning around, because whoever that voice was must be a Risen or ----

Not. ] Oh. Er... [ This just got really awkward. She clears her throat, her lips pressing into a thin line as pink colors her cheeks. Yeah, she's a little embarrassed. But this stranger mentioned something about... ] Black Frost?

[jumyouboshi]

Yes. That's the name of the demon the statue is modeled after.

[Alcor gestures in the direction of the statue, before returning his hand to his pocket. He doesn't seem to mind her embarrassment, tilting his head to the side.]

Ah, did I startle you? I'm sorry about that.

[heritors]

A demon...? [ She glances back at the statue, then back to the man. ] ... I see. Is there a reason there are strange creatures resting by it?

[ She shakes her head. ] It's alright. If anything, I should have been more careful, in a place like this... [ ... Whatever this place is, anyway. ]

[jumyouboshi]

[He won't deny that; it's dangerous during the 13th Hour for normal humans. He gives her a small nod, as he won't repeat what she has already acknowledged.]

Most of those creatures are demons as well.

[Most, not all. There were a few types running around in Hinoto-Ri that he didn't recognize as demons as he knew them.]

Fortunately, they do not seem to be aggressive.

Ah. [ A nod - she figures they're similar to the Risen from her world, only... they don't seem to be humans. ] Where have they come from? [ There's distant memories a voice speaking of a war, saving the city, personas... But they don't seem to make much sense.

Sorry, Alcor. She's going to ask a few questions until she understands this a little better. ]

[jumyouboshi]

[Ask away, Lucina. Alcor loves curious minds, and he certainly likes seeing people ask questions. It was better than them sitting around complacently and simply accepting what they're told, closed to the possibilities around them.]

During this time, demonic activity increases. It is only natural that they would come out of their habitats. As for their origins...I'm afraid I can't say for certain.

[Although he's well familiar and aware of most of the creatures here thanks to being from a spinoff of SMT, which certainly came in handy and made him suspect that it was another universe the administrator he knows is involved in, but he's also aware of the possibility that they were all simply brought here, just like the Visitors themselves.]

Perhaps they have always existed in this world.

[ Ah, that makes more sense. At least, it explains the sudden change in atmosphere she experienced moments ago; it must have something to do with the demons appearing. She hums thoughtfully, nodding. ] But they don't show themselves otherwise? [ So different from the Risen that she faced back in her world.

Demons that only appear at certain times in the day... It's definitely an interesting thought. ] Hm. I wonder, what makes this time so special...? [ It's more of a rhetorical question than anything else, but she gives a glance around the streets, realizing there's a more important question to be asked. ]

... What exactly is this world?

[jumyouboshi]

They do, at times, but they are far less hostile than the ones walking the earth right now.

[There's always the occasional demon wandering around and whatnot, but it's only when the 13th Hour occurs that they start...misbehaving too much for his taste, shall we say. He smiles at her, happy to see her curiosity.]

The name of this world is Earth, and this city is known as Hinoto-Ri. I suspect it is a world different from the one you know.

[Judging from her...everything.]

[ But not as bad as the Risen wrecking havoc in her home land. At least these beings seem to operate on a set schedule. It gives them a better time to prepare (if needed be), and knowing this about the enemy can always result in better strategies formed...

She's the tactician's daughter for a reason.

Anyway, the information earns another nod from her. ] For the most part, it's very different from where I'm from.

... Ah, pardon me, I haven't introduced myself. My name's Lucina, from the continent of Ylisse. [ Though here, where she's from won't make much of a difference. She extends a hand out in greeting. ] I truly appreciate all the help so far.

[jumyouboshi]

[Ylisse...nope, not ringing a bell.

He stares at the extended hand for a moment, before awkwardly taking it (That was what humans did, yes?) and simply letting his fingers hang there as if he's unused to it and confused as to what to do. ...Well, he is.]

...My name is Alcor. I'm happy to be of assistance to you.

[ ... The pause confuses her. Did they not have handshakes in this world? It's awkward to stop now, though - she holds his fingers lightly, before giving them a small shake, then letting her arm fall to her side.

This just got really awkward. She clears her throat, before asking another question. ] What can you tell me... about persona? [ Because the word's been hanging out in her head, and she's not sure what it is, exactly. ]

[jumyouboshi]

[He retracts his arm as well, putting it back in his pocket. An awkward star, that he is.]

That is the ability granted by Philemon to all Visitors upon arrival. Many of these summonable entities take on the form of historically significant or mythological figures. ...It seems that stressful situations in which the user's life is in danger can cause it to awaken, though there is another method.

[At least, that's what he's gathered. He hasn't awakened his own yet, despite his time here, since that requires an Evoker, major stress/pressure/a life threatening situation...and he doesn't care about his life. Oops. There's more he hasn't covered, but he'll allow her some breathing time if she has any questions.]

[ An ability... She's not entirely sure how it would work - the name Philemon rings a dull bell, though. Maybe to... help them fight? Aid them in battle.

Though, the idea of putting oneself into a dangerous situation to acquire this skill... Is that a good idea? Maybe the alternative is a little more appealing. ] Another method... How would that work?

[jumyouboshi]

By utilizing a weapon called an Evoker. It is in the shape of a human firearm. True to its name, it forcefully evokes the Persona.

[...And he hasn't done that either. While he could just steal one or something, he'd prefer not to do that. It was rather rude to take things without permission...although he forgot about that, at times.]

[heritors]

A firearm... What is that, exactly? [ Sorry Alcor. She comes from a time when fire arms didn't exist. Swords, lances, axes and bows all the way.

She looks a little apologetic, though. But Lucina knows that this information is going to be useful to her, so she needs it. She'll have to repay him somehow. ] I must admit, all the same, this method seems significantly easier.

[jumyouboshi]

[Y'all are old-fashioned. ...Not that he can talk, the old man he is sometimes. He blinks before answering with a smile.]

Firearms are barreled weapons that launch explosive projectiles.

[And then he...looks at his fingers, kind of adjusts them to make a gun shape, and then looks back at her. Does it help???]

[ Can you blame her? Their main villain is a dragon.

But that makes sense, kind of. She'll just have to see one later. She follows his gaze to Alcor's hand, staring curiously at the shape. ] I assume that's what these... Evokers resemble. [ And these fire arms. But same difference, really. ]

[jumyouboshi]

[it's not a fire emblem game if dragons aren't involved in some way He nods.]

Unfortunately, I do not have any of my own, so I cannot show you properly.

[...He could always steal some though.]

[heritors]

[ This is accurate. She smiles, shaking her head. ] I've received more than enough help from you - it wouldn't do well on my conscience if I were to ask for more.

[ ... That wouldn't do well on her conscience, either. ] I'll be certain to repay your kindness one day.

[jumyouboshi]

[A small chuckle.]

There's no need for that. Nothing gives me more pleasure than assisting you humans.

[It's just that his way of helping is...weird.]

[heritors]

[ ... Humans? The only people Lucina's come across that puts a distinction between themselves and people are... shape shifters.

She's in a new world, sure, but does that mean there's a chance Alcor's a shape shifter as well? He doesn't have the ears, though. ]

... [ Hmm. Maybe she should ask? It sounds rather rude, though. She's staring at him a little more intently, and it's painfully obvious from her face that she's conflicted. To ask or not to ask? ]

[jumyouboshi]

[...He stares back at Lucina curiously, genuinely wondering if he offended her or disturbed her or something. Oh dear...he hoped he didn't.]

...Did I say something inappropriate?

[heritors]

Oh? [ She blinks, then shakes her head. ] No, not at all. I hadn't meant to come off as such-

I was merely wondering... Er. [ She might as well ask. ] Pardon me for asking, but are you not a... human?

[jumyouboshi]

No, I am not.

[He admits it rather casually. He made it quite obvious from his first appearance, after all.]

[heritors]

[ Huh. So that explains a lot. She might not have noticed the whole floating thing in the beginning - considering, well, she almost had a heart attack and stuff.

What did that make him? ] I see. [ It's obvious from her expression that's not enough information, but... it's rude to pry, especially at a first meeting like this. So she's going to change the subject! ]

Er, also - is there a chance I could find out if my comrades have arrived?
