Farewell Happy Fields!
Farewell Happy Fields!

What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.
Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).
So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.
---
Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...
There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.
By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...
[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!
You may all start your threads and mingle!]
ICU Open
For now said shoulder's been pretty much immobilized, and Xion herself has been outfitted with an IV and heart monitor. The doctors seem to be most concerned with keeping an eye her, though Xion had been a little too out of it at the time to hear the details. All she knew for sure was it had more to do with how she'd gotten the injury, rather than the injury itself.
While it's bad, it's not immediately life-threatening, however, so she's a little lower on the queue than some other ICU patients. When she's awake though, she's more than slightly bored. There was only so much you could do when you can't really move your shoulder at all. She certainly won't mind the company, at least.]
honk honkkkkkkkk
"Any pain at the moment?"
Call him an old softie, but it was hard to see so many kids in ICU like this.

"A little," she said, finally, "But... not too bad."
Definitely within bearable levels, she thinks.

"Your injury will heal with time. We have the best technology at our disposal." There was a pause, as the man seemed to somber up. "I know it's dull, playing the waiting game. If you have anyone else who was injured that you might want to go see, well..."
He gave a good-natured shrug. "I can at least check on them for you, until you're well enough to move about."

Today, he had stumbled on the perfect idea.
It had been hard to figure out how he would sneak in with it - were animals allowed at the hospital? - but thankfully everyone was still busy, and he managed to get through without too much fuss. It probably also helped that his jacket had very big pockets, and the little guy liked finding places to hide.
He tried to walk up to Xion's bed quietly, just in case she was sleeping, and was happy when he saw that she wasn't.]
Hey, Xion! How are you feeling?
[If she's watching carefully, she might see something moving around in that big pocket on Sora's jacket, or hear a soft little meow.]
We should probably mention that this is forward-dated a little
Her shoulder has been operated on by now, though it's still immobilized, which in and of itself is beginning to drive her crazy, given how much it restricts her movement.
Sora's talking to her has been helping. It keeps her mind off of being stuck unable to do much, and he would tell her how the others are doing.
At his words, she smiles a little ruefully]
Bored.
[She's not watching carefully, but she does hear the meow, and frowns a little in puzzlement. Was she hearing things?]
Oh yeah. Important details and such.
[It's probably a good thing that Sora said that when he did, because the kitten has gotten tired of it's hiding spot. She pokes her head out of the pocket, looking up at Sora and meowing in protest at having been stuck in there for so long. He laughs, picking her up gently and holding her where Xion can see and pet her. Sora would set her down in a minute, but he wanted to make sure she wouldn't immediately try to climb near Xion's hurt shoulder or anything first.]
Look familiar?
[It was the same kitten that had designated Sora's shoe as a perfect place to take a nap when he had first arrived in the city, and one they had both (though especially Xion, he figured, since she worked at the pet store) been keeping an eye on for awhile now.]

Too bad the hospital was a big place. He'd been wandering for a long time when he finally passed by Xion's room... taking a quick peek inside as he had for the past however-many-hundred rooms he'd walked by.
Seeing a familiar face was a bit startling, though, and he blinked once or twice before ducking inside.]
Xion? Are you all right?

For a moment, a guilty flash crosses her face. Had anybody told him what happened? She knew he hadn't been there during the actual Grand Prix, which was probably just as well, given what had happened. But... well he must have known something happened, to have sought her here.
She smiles a little wistfully]
I'm not too bad. [All things considered] Did you just get here?

Kairi? [She'd been at the Grand Prix too, hadn't she?] You're okay?
[She sounds... hopeful. Relieved. Sora'd talked about the others but it was still good to... actually see it.]

[She smiles softly, letting herself into the room and shutting the door behind her. There were miscellaneous bandages around her body, and her left shoulder was particularly wrapped up with gauze and the like. Kairi had taken a rather bad bullet shot to the shoulder, but she'd quickly left the ward after treatment. She'd had more important things to attend to, and injuries like this were literally another day in the life of a former torture facility resident.]

How are you feeling?
[Well, she had put Xion down as a niece.
Just don't mind her sitting down.]no subject
On the downside Xion was alert enough to take in Aqua's own condition and be suitably worried in her own right. Still, when Aqua asks her question, Xion looks down at her own lap.]
Better. [there's a pause and then] Thanks.
[The way she says it, it sounds like she's saying thank you for more than just Aqua asking how she was]
no subject
Aqua smiles faintly, as if her own injuries don't bother her any. Silly Xion; she'll be fine in no time.]
Mm... I'm just glad you're alright.
[That thank you was kind of telling, okay.]

*He stepped in further, staying quiet, and looked for somewhere to put this feather as well, where she'd easily find it. The nightstand, perhaps? Set it on her blanket, where she'd see it when she woke up? Hmm, decisions decisions.*
((...Which would surely be moot if she were more awake than he suspected, but that's up to you. :) If she's asleep, he would've just left it for her to find, wherever you'd like.))

W...Wait.
[....this is a really bad time...]
You're that girl!

Sora, what... [And then she squints a little at him, and seems to realize. Her eyes widen and her heart rate on the monitor speeds up slightly. Of all the possible ways to actually have met the other Sora in person this was not the way she'd have expected or wanted and her brain is still moving a little sluggishly from sleep]
Y-you're here.

Still, Riku is hardly demotivated by his exhaustion; he's set his mind on not returning to his room until he's found out just who else shares the questionable pleasure of having to book a bed here, and well... he's stubborn.
A worried frown flickers over his face, when he finally finds her, voice quiet when he speaks up - he doesn't want to wake her, if she's asleep.]
...Xion?

not yet at leastbut had been lost in thought. Not that she minds the distraction at all, though. Her thoughts aren't exactly happy ones. She turns her head, ducking it a little once she sees who it is. Or at least as much as she can in her current position]Hey.
[There's something almost... guilty in her voice.]
