What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.

Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).

So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.

Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...

There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.

By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...

[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!

A broken rib and a few second-to-third degree burns. The doctors commented she's lucky the damage hadn't been worse.

They might as well have been, at least compared to the injury to her pride.

She looks out the window, her mouth taut. That battle should have been theirs to win. If that worm hadn't thrown out that last ditch maneuver, they should have won it. They even had a new, powerful addition to their arsenal. And they still lost.

That niggling though wells in her head again: Need more power need more power need it need it need it. She scowls, and shakes her head. Foolish. Nobody needs more power. Everybody she's ever seen fall fell because they pursued power to the detriment of everything else. She is above such thoughts. Such thoughts need to leave her head immediately.

Now to DIMINISH power...

She smirks. Now THAT would be a worthy project of her talents.

"Hey, look on the bright side."

Having been felled by the same attack, they had been treated in the same part of the hospital. Burn recovery, concussive force damage from the explosion, etc. etc. Not the same room, though, given the gender thing. It had taken him a few days to work up the strength - or even the desire - to leave his room, but he stands now to lean against the doorway.

Against doctor's orders, of course, but no one was watching.

"We've got a nemesis now! It will be that much more satisfying when we finally beat him. ...Preferably with Personas that absorb fire and status effects."

Well he was awfully cheerful.

You might wonder why you haven't seen Gale helping out during the Anoli fight. Well, it was both simple and complicated. The simple, short way to answer is that he got trampled nearly to death by the panicking civilians trying to escape the stadium when the Anoli attack began.

Don't worry though, he's been saved at the last second, which is why he's now resting in the ICU with an oxygen mask on his face and a painkiller drip being fed right into a vein of his hand. Visits are limited in time as he needs to rest and heal.

Knock, knock at the door.

"Nurse time, just to warn you~"

There was a delay in the woman coming in however, because of how she had to wheel her cart in the doorway. Seemed she was here for typical upkeep- checking the oxygen, the IV, changing out the bag, and the like.

Broken femur, in desperate need of repair to the bone, the nerves, and the leg itself.

A gash on her side. Scraped a few ribs and if it had been slightly deeper it would have pierced the abdominal wall.

Stabbed through the shoulder, luckily just under the socket. Arturia could've very well lost her arm if the actual joint had been hit. Instead she had a few broken ribs, was lucky she hadn't bled out, and her arm was limp at her side thanks to several severed nerves.

A concussion. One that left how the battle turned out unclear. All Arturia could remember clearly about the fight was running into Spades and Hitsuji, pulling the stupid move of trying to challenge them, then the feel of a knife to her back. After that there was pain and then blackness. When Arturia came to, she'd been in the hospital.

And, of course, a laundry list of bruises and scrapes that were negligible compared to all of her other injuries.

If she was back home, her body would be a mess, the doctors telling her it could potentially take months to recover from these sort of injuries. There would be a constant question on if they should even attempt to save her leg, on if she would ever be able to move her arm again. She would at the very least spend the next few years on crutches, if not in a wheelchair.

But this was not Fuyuki City of the early twenty-first century. No, this was Hinoto-Ri of an unknown era with advanced medical technology. The doctors had assured her, once she was stable and coherent enough, she would be fine. It would take time, but she would be back on her feet within the next few weeks as right as rain.

So Arturia lay in her hospital bed, hooked up to monitors and IVs, wondering just what she had been thinking trying to confront those two. They hadn't been fighting anyone. They had clearly outclassed her. Had she been so desperate to be the hero she had put herself into danger despite knowing she could wind up dead? Or worse?

In her heart of hearts she knew she had been. For once in her life she'd wanted a chance to be a hero and, despite the fact it would accomplish nothing, she had faced a foe she could not hope to beat. In her mind she heard Lancer and Archer telling her the same despite her insistence on fighting alongside them in some way. She would wind up killed if she tried to go against Servants. If she tried to fight, try to keep it at facing off against Masters and only try to defend herself if a Servant came after her.

Arturia raised her hand, the one bearing her Command Spells in the air, and stared at it. As much of a reprieve as her stay had in Hinoto-Ri had been, she really wanted to go home. Even if it was only briefly, if only so she could help Rin and Archer and Lancer somehow. If only so she could stop constantly trying to prepare for a War she had only stumbled upon and had the good fortune someone she knew she could trust was participating as well.

She pulled her hand back to her chest as the nurse came in and said someone wanted to see her and she'd been cleared for visitors. Arturia thanked her and waited for the woman to show her guest in.

A huge figure in a white robe blots out the light for a moment, looking down at Arturia as she raises her hand. His face is even more scarred and burnt than the last time she saw it, but still maintains the same craggy solemnity about it. He moves slowly, his usual vitality present, but clearly nursing injuries. Just how severe she probably can't tell, as the robe hides most of the burns and punctures. His strange organs were hard for the citizens of Hinoto-Ri to figure out, so after getting his flesh knit back together and receiving some blood transfusions, the space marine waved off further medical help, content to let his body do the rest itself.

He pauses for a second as he looks down at her, grey eyes slightly mysterious in their expression, and just says her name, the silent wolf being spare in his words for the moment, "Arturia." His eyes linger on her hand, and the strange marking there.

...January is officially as bad as December.

Yu's wired up like some kind of machine, between the heart rate monitor and the tube down his throat helping him breathe and everything else that's making sure he stays alive. He got hit, hard; in addition to the equipment, his shoulder and part of his face is bandaged up, hiding a number of stitches underneath. His chest and midsection are also sporting more wrappings, hiding a skin graft placed over a massive burn from the attack that had knocked him unconscious. He hasn't woken up since the medics received him from a mysterious masked benefactor that night, and there's usually some doctor or other going in and out of his room, making sure he's still alive.

He'll... probably survive this, but one thing is for sure: Yu's not going to be waking up any time soon.

She had to wait until there was no one there in order to finally see him. She was injured like most but that didn't stop her from going between areas, looking for her friends and hoping that she would see them. It figures that maybe all the boys were to be in there and she got turned away when spotted the first time.

It also didn't help that a nurse was hunting her and trying to keep her in bed like a good patient. Like that was helping anyone.

Finally the doctor left and Yukiko could finally sneak into the room. There...was no words for what she saw.

"Oh god..." she breathed quietly, putting a hand over her mouth, seeing the damage. The girl was afraid to see what exactly was under those wrappings but she moved closer to Yu regardless. All the machines and tubes in him, it made her almost look away. Not because of disgust of what the Anoli did to him.

Because of what she did to him.

Everyone can say that it's not true, that he was protecting her, but it was just covering up the truth. He did jump in front of that attack and he was paying the price for it.

"...my fault...it's all my fault."

Yukiko trembled as she finally reached his bed, gripping the hospital gown she wore, head staying down.

"I'm so sorry...It should be me in there, not you. You should be home with Nanako-chan and safe."

She could feel wetness running down her cheeks, holding back sobs, trying to stay quiet before a nurse sees her.

"I wasn't strong enough for you...I shouldn't be so weak to this but...I rather be there than you. Everyone is pulling for you, even me. So please...if you can hear me..."

There was silence for just a moment.

"...forgive me."

Link was curled up in his bed, despite warnings that he should lay flat. He couldn't help but feel terrible that more couldn't be done... though he was glad that they managed to help the people they did. He clung to his pillow tightly, trying to ignore the pain shooting through his chest and arm.

He'd been told that there were minor cracks in a few of his ribs, and the shoulder on his sword arm had gotten dislocated (and subsequently popped back into place) in addition to the relatively minor gashes and cuts he'd received. They also threw a lot of medical terms at him that he didn't really understand, and now he was staring at a wall, shifting uncomfortably with the gauze around him.

"Don't clench like that." One of the doctors was making the rounds to poke his head in doorways, and tsk'd fatherly at Link's clutching. The man softly stepped in, trying to give the blonde a smile.

"You don't want to strain anything, in your condition."

Neku wasn't sure which was worse - being stuck in a hospital bed when he was already technically dead or the fact that he kept stumbling when he walked. The pain didn't help his temper either - when a nurse had compared the wound in his leg with a gunshot wound he'd started yelling at her until she fled the room.

He'd gotten lucky, and he knew it, but it was still annoying. The fact that he couldn't wander around on his own didn't help either. Pain pills were keeping most of the edge off, but he was still extremely cranky - he couldn't really sleep like this.

Hopefully someone would show up soon so he could focus on something. Otherwise, he'd just be here, listening to his headphones and trying to ignore everything.

Hizumi's making his rounds - he's not exactly compassionate for the injured, but he is interested in seeing what the aftermath is, as an observer.

And who should he come across but a kid around his age laid up like a true soldier. Looks like he really had been one of the few who sat the fighting out.

He gives a low whistle, which may well be Neku's first alert that somebody's nearby. "Those Anoli really don't hold back, do they?"

Aoi is on bed rest thanks to the burns she had sustained during her battle against the Anoli. Although the doctors had treated her wounds and assured her she would make a full recovery, she could not be fully comforted; the number of people who had died in the attack could never be brought back. And no matter how many fights she went through, her heart ached for the victims who could not be saved.

The victims she could not save.

She has her eyes closed, one hand over her right eye. There's a white medical patch there, at her request - her power had activated itself subconsciously during the chaos, and as usual her eye had begun to hurt from its use. She did not mind that pain, however... If she had been able to help even a few people through its use, she could accept that.

While she is calm enough during her waking hours, any character who happens upon her during her sleep will see quite a different case: her slumber is restless, and she is prone to waking with a cry of pain.

She's not the only one sporting some burns. In fact, Soma looks like he got in a fist fight with a fire and lost, but he's handling it pretty well. He's been walking around, keeping an eye out for Integra -- he wasn't sure if she got caught in the middle of it, as he hadn't seen her during that time.

He was surprised -- and a bit pleased -- to see the woman that had aided the civilians though.

"Hey," he greeted softly. "How are you holding up?"

Well.

They had given it a good go. He couldn't quite remember what had happened in the moments after the explosion save that for some inexplicable reason, their enemy had chosen not to murder them. Probably for the best all around. He had been out of ideas at the time with the exception of praying desperately for Badb Catha to swoop down and teleport him away, which she had, of course, proceeded to do. After Hearts left the scene.

Stupid death goddesses leaving their masters to die.

Still in the end, he had been able to move both himself and Misery somewhere a little more secluded where they were less likely to be attacked. The remainder of the evening had passed uneventfully, mostly with him wishing he were unconscious.

He had gotten off easy. Endure had kept him in a functioning state, enough so that everything was cracked and bruised rather than broken; the burns were the main issue, really, although the degree of healing available here meant that he would be making a full recovery without scarring. Still, for the moment, there were heavy bandages applied to his cheek and to his arms, obscuring the red, raw wounds underneath from sight. It would take upwards of a week of Dia therapy before they would be restored. No skin grafts necessary, thankfully.

Atsuro sits in his hospital bed and fiddles around with his COMP, his only source of entertainment. He frowns at a certain entry within the program.

"...Laksmi..."

He would need to find someone to Recarm her soon.

Hmmm... It's definitely interesting, trying to track down folks at a hospital. Having made it through the ordeal relatively unscathed, he is for once not the one stuck in the hospital bed, something he is actually pretty grateful for. There's nothing more mind-numbingly boring than staring at a white ceiling for days straight.

As he walks through the halls, a familiar face catches his eye, and he pauses to take a look in the room. When he confirms who it is, he cracks a grin.

"Hey-- you made it out alive after all."

It's made teasingly, although Hizumi does keep his voice more subdued than usual. Hospital and all. As he steps into the room, his eyes go to the COMP.

"And you've got games to keep you busy, too. Should I leave you alone?"

Garviel, Red, ICU

Loken had to be pried out of his armor, flayed out of it in some circumstances, the meat and the black carapace melting into the ceramite from the heat of the magics unleashed on him. His naked torso, though huge and muscled, and under normal circumstances something of an example of what a posthuman warrior should look like, is a huge piece of burned gristle with tubes coming in and out of it for the moment. His face is blackened in spots from burns and he has livid new scars on his forehead and cheek as well.

All in all, for an Astartes like him, just another day on the job really.

Awkwardly, there seemed to be some sort of...discussion going on outside Garviel's room. While the man was trying to be quiet about it, his voice still managed to carry under the door.

"I just- I know bones, and I am not sure those are bones. Anymore, anyway. How do you treat that?"

Otoha had been brought in, burnt and bloody. It was hard to really count how badly he'd been injured otherwise under the mass of charred flesh that was everywhere. His skin had been slightly more protected under his clothes, but his face and hands were severely burnt.

It'd been a miracle he'd survived, really. Anyone should have passed out from pain long before, though one of the doctors remarked on his lack of response when they'd drawn blood - and wondered aloud if it had been quiet acceptance, inability to feel anything through damaged tissue, or something else. Still, the damage would take a while to heal, and he was set up in the intensive care unit.

Otoha didn't respond to anything, whether it was the nurses or doctors or someone heading in to see someone else in the ward. It was debatable if he was awake or asleep. He had his amulet wrapped around his hand - the one time he'd spoken he'd insisted on it.

Other than that, he was simply a fixture in a bed, a breathing mask on his face eyes closed.

The hospital was the first place he looked when he couldn't find Otoha after all the fighting. After describing his missing partner he'd been directed to the ICU. It would figure.

The smell was the worst part. It was no pleasant thing by normal standards but his nose stung with the smell of burnt flesh and Otoha's blood. Slowly, the vampire made his way into the room, pulling a chair over to the bed, but didn't sit in it yet.

He stared at the man, listening to the actual heartbeat under the obnoxious beep of the monitor. "You're a fucking idiot, did you know that? I told you to be careful and it pretty much looks like you did the complete opposite. Congratulations on not dying, though, kudos to you." Every word was laced with anger, but it was anger out of fear; he'd had image after image of getting here and finding his stupid human hadn't made it.

Lightly he touched Otoha's forehead and ran his fingers through the man's hair before finally sitting down, ignoring the stinging behind his eyes.

"Just hurry up and open your eyes, asshole, you don't get to sleep forever."

Ludwig Beilschmidt - RED injuries - ICU - Open to all!

Ludwig had been shot up pretty bad, to say the least. Given that each shot he fired had been zipped back at him in various places throughout his body, he was basically full of holes. The bullets had come close to some vital regions of his body, and so he needed some very careful surgery to get them out. Fortunately, they had come out successfully, so at least that was taken care of. His lower femur had been broken by the bullet that landed there, so he wouldn't be walking without crutches for a while... or at least, until his body naturally regenerated.

That was one plus of being a nation; if one's country was healthy and strong, their bodies would just heal up by themselves at a significantly quicker rate than that of a human's. That counted for deaths, too. A nation, if they were killed in battle (which Ludwig had been quite a few times- that's WWI and WWII for you) or otherwise, would just resurrect within a few hours or, in some more desperate cases, days. However, Ludwig did not want to risk dying in a completely different world from his country. He had noticed that his regeneration was slowing from the disconnect to his world, which he took as a bad sign. If he wasn't at least in his home world, his "nation benefits" would undoubtedly lessen. He had to be less reckless in the future.

Dammit, why did the network have to be down? He wanted status updates on as many people as possible! He had to make sure no one- at the very least, no Visitors- had died in that battle. Well, perhaps it could wait till the network came back up. Right now, Ludwig just sighed and stared at the tubes going into him. The painkillers were working well (there was a time when he had managed just fine with no such thing... how nostalgic), and presumably everything else was working, too. There was nothing to do but wait... and try to figure out a solution.

"Nurse, coming in~"

A bubbly woman popped her way in to Ludwig's room, all sunshine and daisies in spite of the man's state before her. While some of the hospital staff was solemn, this woman apparently was determined to try and cheer people up.

She spent no time in checking equipment and jotting down a few notes, before giving the nation a bright smile. "You're progressing very nicely, Mr-" She suddenly paused, looking a little unsure. "Mr. Ludwig!" ...she wasn't going to butcher his last name, okay.

[Xion's probably not the worst hit of some of the Visitors who landed in this particular ward. A couple of cracked ribs, a few bruises, those were all fairly manageable. Her partially-crushed shoulder however, is where the real problem lay.

For now said shoulder's been pretty much immobilized, and Xion herself has been outfitted with an IV and heart monitor. The doctors seem to be most concerned with keeping an eye her, though Xion had been a little too out of it at the time to hear the details. All she knew for sure was it had more to do with how she'd gotten the injury, rather than the injury itself.

While it's bad, it's not immediately life-threatening, however, so she's a little lower on the queue than some other ICU patients. When she's awake though, she's more than slightly bored. There was only so much you could do when you can't really move your shoulder at all. She certainly won't mind the company, at least.]

Speaking of keeping an eye on her- one of the doctors had come around to do just that. His smile was carefully crafted for optimal bedside manner, but it sort of looked like he was struggling to keep it that way.

"Any pain at the moment?"

Call him an old softie, but it was hard to see so many kids in ICU like this.

Sasha Fyer - YELLOW injuries - Open to all!

They had removed the bullet from Sasha's shoulder easily enough, and determined that one of her ribs had been broken from that nasty kick Spades had given her. That was the extent of Sasha's injuries, or at least the extent of the physical ones. The pain that had finally knocked her lights out came from the attacks to her Persona, but the doctors had yet to determine if that dealt any damage they could fix.

Sasha was scared. She had encountered an enemy that neither she nor anyone she was fighting with seemed capable of striking down. They absorbed her main methods of attack and turned everything else against her. She had tried to help and be a hero like she had seen so often, and all it did was get her utterly pancaked. The painkillers were working, so she was fine for now, but the memories of that pain still lingered in her mind. There had to be something she could do. Something.

At this point, she was useless. She sighed, hung her head, and blinked a few tears onto the hospital blanket. Useless.

Daichi was lucky to only have a few scratches and bruises, nothing that some bandages and aspirin would take care of. He was rushing back and forth still helping people where he could, but seeing as he didn't actually have medical experience, he was kind of relegated for now.

"Sasha?" He stopped when he noticed her...and not looking too good. In more than one way. It was weird to think the last time he talked to her they were joking about all that Teen Beat crap.

"Hey... everything alright?"

The Doctor is In -- Open

Here's a young man who has been on call since the first injuries had been rolled into the hospital. He's one of the top surgeons on Caduceus' payroll, and has been operating on as many of the injured as he could. Thankfully they haven't been too complicated; mostly removing bullets and shrapnel, though he has handled the occasional organ damage during the last few days. He's even the one that's operated on Ms. Junko Tanako!

Odds are, if you or one of your friends went under the knife, needed some stitches or some skin grafts, this guy's one of the people that handled it, or know the people that handled it, so he probably knows what's up. With most of the people in critical condition taken care of, he's finally got a chance to rest, which consists of parking himself by one of the desks in the ICU, or some part of a hallway or the reception area, and yawning a bit while he pretends to go over a chart and look busy, or making himself a cup of coffee.

He seems nice enough however, so perhaps you'd like to ask him some questions?

Well... Samus had heard that everything went to hell the night of the ceremonies. She honestly had thought that they would have been more well equipped with security against these sorts of attacks, which is why she had decided to stay behind and watch on a public television. That and the fact that she was considered a possible biological threat in the city, added on to the fact that most of her weapons were... not made for areas with high civilian populations.

In retrospect, she wishes she had been there, though she's not sure she would've made a difference. Samus didn't really understand the full gravity of the situation, however, until she had arrived at the hospital for one of her regular checkups and saw just how busy and overflowing with patients the place had become.

Wearing a casual military style outfit, Samus approaches a doctor in the reception area as she pulls her eyes away from yet another gravely injured patient being wheeled down the hallway.

"Excuse me sir, I've come in for one of my regularly scheduled checkups? If this is a bad time, however, I can postpone it until next week." It wasn't as though there was anything out of the ordinary about her condition anyway. Nothing had changed about it in the past two weeks since her last checkup.

Sitting in the hallway, out of the rooms so others can make use of them was one listless Tau. Wrapped around his head was bandages plus he had a compress on his left shoulder. He escaped with no broken bones but he did have some serious bruising around his back, a shoulder that was wrenched out of socket, and one nasty concussion.

In between the pain in his head and the humiliation of how badly he got beat, he was just staring at the ground, wishing he was elsewhere. It was normal to be beaten but this was entirely different. He was curbstomped and pretty much ignored.

...how would his father feel about him now?

A figure, for once in a white robe, not gray plate, looks in on the strange blue-skinned xenos. His mouth twists with disgust, then he remembers his discourse with the watchers. In a way, he owes the xeno-breeds a chance. Just one, though.

"So, did you learn anything from fighting those bastards?"

He asks, without any sort of greeting, or question about how he's doing. Loken himself stinks of rich Astartes blood, and has visible burns and cuts all over his face and neck.

The hospital is a place that Haseo has found herself waking up at far, far too often in the past, so realizing that she's back AGAIN causes her to curse in the back of her mind. She'd curse out loud, but after that fit before she passed out, she isn't sure she can trust her voice. Yes, a fit, and yes, passed out. The effects of the power overload when fighting Cubia may never truly be purged, and she'd ended up being lightheaded and nearly coughing out a lung or two at the end. It had almost been as bad as the last one before Hinoto-Ri. Thankfully, it didn't surface when anyone she knew was around - unfortunately, the doctors did see it. That in addition to her injuries had lead to her being brought to the ICU.

Again.

Thankfully, it wasn't a fight with Tri-Edge or taking a Rebirth to the face and bleeding out. It's still pretty bad though. Her right leg is broken and pretty torn up besides, so it's in a cast and being kept still until it heals some. ...Actually, most of her is pretty torn up besides, and critical care or no, she probably won't be walking out without some new scars. She's pretty sure she's getting to be a regular gallery of them beneath her armor. Probably disturbed the doctors just a bit if they'd looked.

You know. Just a bit.
... Look, there's a good reason for her keeping covered up.

At any rate, there she is, a regular mummy beneath the hospital gown, injured and bruised and one of her eyes covered by gauze as well. It isn't gone, no, but the area surrounding was injured. She's got a heart rate monitor thanks to that damn flare-up, and is usually grumbling when she's conscious. She cooperates, but grumbles all the same when the doctors come around. When they're not there, though, she's...actually pretty listless.

The two main physicians Haseo had seen previously- Dr. Abi and Dr. Kousuke -were, oddly, not the ones entering her room this day. While both had been by for the usual checkups and the like, there was an unfamiliar, almost skiddish looking man poking his head in.

"...oh. Are you, uh, asleep?"

The first day in the hospital Minato spends largely unconscious, under the influence of anesthetics, side-effects of healing, the after-effects of an antidote, and plain old exhaustion. Dimly, he is aware that he has a roommate and that the roommate is vaguely familiar, but he pays little attention as he drifts in and out of bleary consciousness. He tries to wake up a little more for his sister or any other visitors, but he only really manages a few minutes at a time before it's back to the deep medicated sleep.

However, the second day he is a little more conscious and manages to carry on whole conversations. The second day is when it fully sinks in that he is sharing a room with the one and only Junes Prince. At this point, he spends a lot of time being horribly entertained by Yosuke's fangirls, even as he does his best to not be noticed by them - after all, having beaten Yosuke in the tournament had rendered Minato and Atsuro very much in the fangirls' black books of death and dismemberment.

... thankfully the nurses are quick to shoo them out. Usually.

Each day after, Minato does progressively better, though he still seems to be asleep an awful lot in between therapy and healing to make sure his bones set right and the torn muscles and so forth in his arm and shoulder mend and strengthen properly... What a lazybones!

A keen observer might notice that he is perhaps a little over-eager to get better and get out of here, though - even at the expense of proper healing. Perhaps the excess sleeping is a part of that?

Oh boy, time for one of his "stressful" patients.

Not that the boy is an issue, really- he can't blame him, all things considered. He'd been in that position, trying to push through recovery in his youth...the doctor just really didn't want others to have the same issues he had.

So every so often, he'd poke his head in unannounced. Just to check and make sure he wasn't, who could know with kids these days, doing squats or something. It also helped that Hanamura was in the same room, which gave him a solid alibi...most of the time. He'd really appreciate not having to duck around preteen girls to peek in himself. It was just, embarrassing.

"Ari-" Almost as if on cue, a girl tried to peep around the doctor's arm, and he moved his clipboard stubbornly in her view's path. "Arisato. How're you doing today?"

Guybrush, as part of the Green brigade one of the lucky few who didn't find himself hospitalized, instead has managed to find himself recruited for a rather odd job on behalf of the Mays Corporation: namely, making "get well soon" gift basket deliveries. Which is why he's been popping in and out of the hospital all day. (Although not, perhaps, as much as he might OTHERWISE need to; the advantage of a nigh-infinite inventory is that it somewhat reduces the number of trips you need to make.)

How much are they paying him? Proooobably not enough, but it's better than nothing. Alternatively, he might be visiting you in your room! You poor bastard.

One of the nurses who had watched the man be-bop around the hospital finally, finally got up the nerve to say something as he passed by her station.

"...you must be a saint."

She wasn't naive enough to think he wasn't being paid, but considering she'd seen evidence of his presence in almost every room...color her impressed, Mr. Mighty Pirate.

Anant was puzzled by their surroundings. They had never been in a hospital before, so the beeping machinery and bright white ceiling were somewhat alien to them. They took a moment to give their body a little wriggle, trying to see what the cause was for their lack of memory.

The closing ceremonies had occurred, and everyone had been rather tense and then...

Anant's memories were a blur. They remembered everything feeling hot, and the buzzing of wasps in their brain, but no clear details. They had been injured in what event had transpired, though. They could feel breaks and cracks in their bones - which was amazing considering how sturdy they were compared to humans - as well as deep, penetrating wounds that stretched and pulled uncomfortably with each deep breath.

It was then that Anant realised one, awful thing.

Their mask.

Where was their mask?!

Alarmed Anant sat up, dislodging a few tubes and cords that they didn't care for at the moment. They pressed their hands against their bare face, feeling anxiety and raw horror building up at them. No no no no-

No, calm, Anant. Deep. Deep breath. It is simple. You must find a new mask.

So with that, they staggered out of bed, pausing only to rip out the IV and heart monitor, which started emitting a shrieking noise - annoying - and proceeded to wobble their way out of the ICU ward, hands pressed against their face in an effort to hide.

Well, they get marks for trying in any case.

Anant's favorite voice will sound nearby their ears.

"I think that machine over there just said that you died. What are you doing thrashing around like that?"

There are many reasons why being a robot is better than being a human, the main one being that if you get hurt? Getting fixed up can happen much quicker than it can with humans. Or at least being a robot means not being stuck in a hospital bed waiting to heal.

... At least when the damage is something basic and easily fixed. Which certainly isn't the case for this robot, DLN 000 or Blues as anyone who has actually talked to him knows him as. Having an unstable core is pretty much what got him in here and taking on some Anoli big shots probably helped with that too.

So, 'waking up' from such a thing actually causes Blues to have a feeling of 'deja-vu', as he rubs at his face and sits up. It's only when he notes that he's most certainly not in Light Labs, it's too brightly lit, and he's not hearing the Doctors Light and Wily arguing, in fact he is more aware of the noises you'd hear in a pretty busy hospital, that the feeling goes away.

And of course that means he's going to get up and try and leave, removing any cords or wires that are attached to him first. Unless someone shows up and interrupts him that is.

"Uh, well I was supposed to make a delivery to a Mr. Blues, but I didn't know you were checking out already. Whoop," he comments sheepishly. "Boy, must've been a pretty minor injury."

There was a bit more panic than usual when this particular ICU patient was ushered into the hospital. What do you do with a patient who has wings? With some ingenuity, they managed to rig him up on a thin cushion that ran along his spine, taking the pressure off his wings. The patient didn't complain about the configuration at all, considering he was unconscious.

Visiting Pit on later days will find him in steadily improving states of consciousness, and steadily increasing states of restlessness. If he's gonna be stuck in a hospital, he wants one of his games with him!

And, with how overloaded the hospital was, they were forced to double up a few of the rooms. So Pit was in a bed across from Arturia, who was looking through the various news reports when he finally stirred. She looked up from her search across the network.

"Pit? Are you awake?" she asked, having been worried from the moment he was wheeled in here.

Ferrus had not, exactly, handled himself well. He'd ended up on TV getting ripped into hard with that Mochizuki's persona, and he'd suffered from severe blood loss and blunt force trauma - after he fainted, he'd apparently been out for several hours. When he woke up, he was missing all of his face gear and properly hitched up to IVs and so forth.

He wasn't happy with having no form of protection - not just his mask, but his clothes had been stripped away, leaving him in a white robe that complemented the pale part of his skin perfectly. His cuts were along his front and back of his chest - covered mostly by the cloth of his little patient robe. What he's self conscious about is how the entire right side of his body - including his face - is severely burned. It wasn't new - it was obviously old scarring. But it was horrifying to look at, even if it was an old wound.

There was a reason he wore his mask.

He was awake, but he was most certainly not okay - he couldn't even sit up, for fear of getting woozy. He'd pushed himself a bit too hard, perhaps.

Any visitors were welcome - while he was tired and unable to move most of his body like he'd like, he wasn't the worst - just a lot of external damage. It'd heal, with time. Even if it scarred. Some of the damage was mitigated by the steel framework literally bolted into his ribcage. Yaaay, technomantle. Yaaaay.

It's also worth noting that his burn - and the fact that he has an entire metallic arm - is visible. His technomantle is not.

Of course you were going to get at least one visitor, Ferrus; one that wasn't entirely too happy with you at the moment. Rune didn't end up with that many injuries -- some scratches and bruises, but otherwise more or less in one piece. There was a frown planted on her face as soon as she entered, and she stared down at him as best as she could, being as short as she was.

"...you jerk."

[Kairi is sitting outside the ICU, leaning back against the wall with a heaving sigh. The one time she had gotten separated from Naminé in the wild crowd just had to be the time she ended up face to face with some of the strongest Anoli. To say she didn't feel partially responsible would be a rather huge lie, though she knew her sister was strong and never doubted her abilities. If it had been any other Anoli member, and not the top tier that had apparently been responsible for horribly injuring a good chunk of those currently in the ICU, her other would've wiped the floor with them. Even though Kairi had ended up in a fight of her own along side another Visitor after they were separated... she had wished she'd been there for back up. They had learned to fight together and to fight together well, and maybe if things hadn't happened the way they did, she wouldn't be sitting outside the ICU waiting for word when she could visit her.

Things kind of sucked.

Kairi herself was bandaged up a little, the more intensive of which was her left arm, which had been wrapped up around the shoulder. After getting taken care of for her shot to the arm and covering up the cuts and scratches dabbled around her body, she'd quickly slid out of the ward, not wanting to sit around for no particular reason. She'd dealt with worse back in Facility, with much less intensive care-- and she had much more pressing matters to attend to right now, anyways. She wasn't particularly sure where most of her friends were... but she was confident they'd all be fine. They always were. But Kairi would deal with that once she was sure Naminé was pulling through fine-- it was one of the worst conditions she'd ever seen the other girl in, to be honest. And this was after them living in a torture facility for over a year.
Readjusting her clipped up hair a little for lack of a better thing to do, the girls sighs, slinking down in her chair.

One visitor, at least, seems to be taking a break, flopping down in another chair with what looks to be a can of root beer. It's no grog, but at least it's familiar to him. "Man, how many of these darned baskets do they have LEFT?" he seems to be muttering to himself.

Odd, he looks kind of like a pirate. It's kind of the wrong day and age for that sort of thing though, isn't it?

[Aqua had been one of the more 'fortunate' ones who'd found themselves caught in an explosion. And by fortunate, it means that she just barely kept from breaking her spine due to her armor that magically seemed to have disappeared when the medics had pressed the button on her left arm (much to her displeasure, as that arm had been broken in a few places).

Overall, she was one of the luckier ones in the ICU. It wouldn't surprise her if she were moved to one of the normal rooms soon, either. The others here needed the doctor's attention. The only thing that had kept her in the hospital?

Both arms were burned from shielding her, the metal armor not fully protecting her from the heat before her Persona could summon a wave to put them out. As was a small part of her back and side. At least with her magic, she could help the doctors heal her and those nearby for the first few days she wasn't completely exhausted. Curaga and Esuna were her new/old best friends.

*Awake or asleep, either way.... Avitus was heading around, combing his wings for loose feathers and leaving them for people, the way some would leave flower bouquets.*

*he stepped in quietly, tugging a somewhat loose feather out with only a little sigh to indicate he'd held his breath as he did so. It was a large black one, nearly a foot long and almost half a foot wide, and he looked for a place to leave it, so that she'd easily spot it, but where the doctors wouldn't think it was in the way and get rid of it. Nightstand, maybe? Hmm....*

He'd been hurt in the chaos, sure, but as the doctors figured out soon after bringing him in, as bad as it was at first, he healed on his own easily enough before they could do more than clean whatever wounds were left, or set the bones. Nothing else had been needed. Well, nothing past him needing to feed again, but that wasn't hard to fix, in a hospital. He'd choked it down without even adding anything to it to disguise the flavor. He'd slept for an hour or two after that, and then after feeding yet again, he cleaned himself up and ventured out of the little room they'd let him have his nap in.

It was some mix of guilt and pity that kept him here, and as he peeked into various hospital rooms, he wished more and more that his brother Vedast were here -- he was the doctor, not Avitus. He had the Gift of being able to heal others with a mere touch, a transfer of energy, or however it was he did it. So did another of his brothers, Armandus, a fighter, someone who would've done far more good during the chaos than Avitus had. Someone who wouldn't have been such a cowardly failure--

Stop it, he told himself, pausing to take a breath and carefully put his mask of calmness back on. My brothers are not here. I am.

He looked down, and caught sight of his hands, fingers buried deep in the huge black feathers of his wings, which he'd pulled around himself in sort of a hug without even thinking about it. The thought crossed his mind, of the human guards, back in the Citadel, how he'd seen them wearing his clan's feathers on strings around their necks, for good luck. For protection, for-- for whatever it was they wore them for. He knew, rationally, that it was surely only a superstition. But, not sure what else he could do to help and being thoroughly against the idea of offering any of his own blood to help heal the others, for Reasons, he figured it couldn't hurt any, either. If nothing else, maybe simply being a token of proof that someone was actually thinking of them would help give them hope to pull through, or feel better sooner.

So he ran his hands through his feathers again, testing them. There were a lot that could come out, after the stress of the recent chaos, but they'd grow back soon enough. He'd just live with his wings somewhat sparse in plumage for a couple weeks, that was all... and he pulled one out, stepping into the nearby room, to leave it somewhere nearby -- half tucked into a bouquet of flowers that would be easily visible to the patient, or on the nightstand, or somewhere like that, and if they were asleep, simply slipped back out of the room again, testing another feather, making his rounds.

Catch him in the halls doing this? It's okay, staff! His feathers are pretty sanitary, honest. :D

Someone else has been wandering too, and given how many people were in the hospital as well, it was only a matter of time until he did run into other people. He was looking for people he knew, poking his head into each room in turn. It was there that he saw the strange man - with wings! - leaving a gift by the bedside of one of the bedridden.

He waited for Avitus to leave before approaching, curiously.

"Does that hurt? Do they have special properties?"
