What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.

Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).

So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.

Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...

There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.

By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...

[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!

"Agh... just leave... come on guys, you... hey, I just heard that guy over there say that Yusuke is really ugly!" he calls out.

THAT quickly pulls the crowd off, albeit at the expense of the poor guy just trying to get something from the vending machine. Guybrush quickly peels away and makes to duck into the room -- only to be surprised by someone standing before him. "Whoops! Uh, lemme in before they figure it out?"

Wordlessly, Minato moves aside and then shuts the door behind the pirate. He blinks at Guybrush, looking him over to ascertain that he is more or less okay.

"... ah, hello. I see you met the fan club."

"I think they might've stolen something from my pockets, actually," he grumbles, feeling around. "Don't think they got the baskets though. Accessing somebody else's stuff isn't THAT easy."

Speaking of which, he pulls out a couple of baskets. One is pretty generic, but the other one seems to have something extra in it. A book?

"Better your possessions than your soul," he replies in what seems to be complete seriousness. But he watches Guybrush pull out the baskets with -- surprise and interest. Where was he keeping them? Does Minato even want to know?

More importantly... "Baskets...?" He ... doesn't really follow.

"Yep." He clears his throat and recites from memory. "'Just a friendly little delivery from the Mays Corporation, wishing you a quick recovery after your brave actions during our recent crisis!'"

He frowns. "I think they said the one with the book was a special one, though. For that guy," he says, pointing to Yosuke's bed.

"Oh. ... that's very kind of them. Ah -- thank you for bringing them. Though," he adds, glancing over at Yosuke, "if it's the book I think it is, he'll probably throw it out the window..."

Which would be a shame. Better to read dramatically from it and make fun of it!

"Huh, really? It doesn't look that..." He looks at the cover. "...is that sort of physiology even humanly possible?"

"I don't think so ... but the um... Junes Prince is an alien, so..."

Take that as you will, Guybrush.

He raises an eyebrow at Minato He's onto you, buddy. He looks back at the book a bit more. "Says it's an advance copy. Huh. You'd think he'd feel pretty lucky about that."

"I guess..." Minato glances over at the door. "Maybe he would if the girls outside the door were saner...?"

Or maybe if it were written better...

"Couldn't say, honestly. I've only had one fangirl, myself." And he met HER when she was trying to bring him in for a bounty. That's pirate life for you.

"Anyway, I'll just leave his here by his bed, okay? Means he doesn't have to hear the cheesy spiel at least."

Minato nods. "All right. I'll let him know, when he wakes up again." And then he smiles a little (and totally doesn't make plans to pinch the book out of Yosuke's basket to read while he's asleep). "Thank you."

"No problemo! Anyway, I got a few more of these to pass around, so I'll just be go..."

He opens the door. Pauses. Closes it again.

"...ooooon second thought maybe I can stick around a little while longer."

"... I could call a nurse. The nurses chase them off periodically. It'd give you an escape route."

"Might not be a bad idea. I kind of like my clothing to stay intact." Tearing a hole into ANY [blank] of holding is rarely a good idea.

"Okay. ... just a second."

And with that, Minato leans over to hit the 'nurse call button'. With any luck, one of the meaner ones will come along...
