What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.

Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).

So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.

Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...

There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.

By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...

[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!

Her one visible eye widens in confusion at the sight of the man. "Yes, that's correct."

A delivery? For her? What on earth could it be?

He nods, then pulls out a gift basket (All the finest unexciting fruits and food products you can fit in a wicker basket) and a card and reads. "'Just a friendly little delivery from the Mays Corporation, wishing you a quick recovery after your brave actions during our recent crisis!'" He stuffs the card back in. "Yeah, they told me I had to read that before the delivery. Anyway, where should I put this?"

She blinks a few times, trying to understand what is going on here. A delivery from the Mays Corporation? She knew of the chain, but she hadn't thought they would be handing out gifts to the visitors like this.

But it would be rude not to accept it, so with a small bow of her head in gratitude she gestures to the stand by her bed. "Here will be fine. Thank you for taking the time to deliver this."

The answer, of course, is "to look like they care about the visitors, and hopefully have them put out a few good words about their generosity and thoughtfulness." Which is to say "free advertising."

Guybrush puts it over there. "No problem! Just doing my job, ma'am! An admittingly low-paying and somewhat demeaning job, but a job nonetheless." He extends a hand. "Hiya! Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate (tm), at your service."

Man, you can practically HEAR the "tm."

...What was that sound?

She bows her head again, although this one is really more like a nod than the first. "My name is Aoi Misato. It's nice to meet you, Threepwood." Her eye flickers over him - checking for any signs of wounds, really. Though the fact that he could walk around without any conspicuous bandages, much less take on a job at this time was probably telling enough.

"I'm glad to see that you weren't injured badly in that attack."

"Yeah, me and the wife definitely lucked out on that front. Especially with that crazy thing that happened." He gesticulates wildly. "You should've seen it! One minute we're back to back, our swords and Personas at the ready, and the next, BOOM! Giant death whale, at our service!" He scratches his head. "I'm still not sure what happened exactly."

"Giant... death whale?" And now we are back to being confused. "And-- did I hear that right? You're here with your wife?"

"Well, it kinda looked like a mix between a whale and a chicken. Not that I know how THAT could've happened." Cough. Cough.

He nods. "Yep. Elaine Marley. You'll know her when you see her. The beautiful redhead with the Seventeenth Century pirate fashion and the air of massive competence." Unlike the man standing before you, at least.

"I see..." Whale chicken mixes aside...

"That must be nice, being here with your wife. It's starting to sound like many of the people here came along with others they know."

He looks sheepish. "Admittedly, the weird thing is that she didn't show up until like a month or so after I did. That's okay, though. She's quick to catch on." And exploit sometimes, it seems, although at least she does it for the side of good.

"Kinda funny how that works, though. It's almost like some worlds think, 'hey, I know that guy, let's send in a few more people they know! It'll be like a party or something.' Weird, huh?"

"Is that how it goes? I've only been here for a month or so; I never could tell." But she's pleased at the idea at least. "That is strange! But it must be comforting, too."

"Yeah, it kinda is." He shakes his head. "I mean, I'm not crazy about her being smack dab in the middle of danger and intrigue... but she's always kind of in the middle of that anyway, and the only real difference here is that there's demons trying to shake you down for money instead of pirates." He coughs.

Uh.

"Pirates?"

Really, the clothes should have been enough of a hint, but with fashions from each world looking different, it could get hard to tell what was for practical reasons and what was simply made to look good.

"Uh, yeah? It's kind of hard to be a MIGHTY pirate (tm) if you dont have regular pirates to gauge your handiwork by." Although really, if you gauged Guybrush by other pirates, "mighty" would be the absolute last word you'd use.

Well, when you put it that way...

"But... would that mean you don't normally get along with other pirates?" They were always portrayed as rough in media, but surely there had to be at least some sort of camaraderie among them?

"Er, it kinda varies from pirate to pirate." A good number of them, for example, are still convinced he's a flooring inspector. "Just because you're mighty doesn't mean you don't have room to work with other pirates, you know?"

"Then do you work with others often on your... Ah, adventures?"

"More like I sort of vaguely recruit them for an arbitrary purpose and they spend most of the rest of the time doing their own thing," he replies archly.

"...Excuse me?"

Maybe she shouldn't have brought it up. She really just does not understand how pirates work at all!

"Er, never mind. Anyway, I gotta make a lot more deliveries, so I'd better get going here," he says, looking sheepish.

"Right. I'm sorry for keeping you. Thank you again for bringing these."
