What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.

Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).

So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.

Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...

There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.

By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...

[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!

"... Just call me Neku."

He's not even going to try to correct the bad enunciation.

"Yeah, that's probably simpler and less easy to butcher horribly." He pulls out a basket and another card, and clears his throat. "'Just a friendly little delivery from the Mays Corporation, wishing you a quick recovery after your brave actions during our recent crisis!'" he reads, hefting the basket. He smiles sheepishly. "Yeah, it's kinda shallow, but what can you do? Where do you want it?"

"Uh... you can put it on the bedside table."

... "Are you really delivering to everyone? Seems like it'd be way too many people."

He plonks it down. "Well, all the guys who got snagged from multiple worlds for the sake of summoning strange mental manifestations for the sake of humanity anyway," he replies. "Eh. I get my money where I can."

He holds out a hand. "Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate (tm) by the way."

"You'd think they'd hand these out when we get here. They seem more like welcome baskets than anything else."

Then again it's not like he's a gift basket expert or whatever. He reaches over to shake the guy's hand, because why the hell not. "Neku Sakuraba. Dead kid."

Hey, you have a title, he's gotta have one too.

"Maybe it's more obvious when they're doing it after a massive horrifying doom event or something. That's why I never went into business myself." He shrugs.

He shakes. "Dead kid, huh? You look pretty good for someone dead. Most of the dead guys I met were either transparent or rotting. Heck, I've been both of 'em myself."

What.

At least he's not freaking out about it. "Yeah, well. Being dead isn't much different from being alive where I'm from, in some ways."

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. "Ours generally has a hygienic barrier. Also a surprisingly strong aversion to certain types of fizzy drinks." He shrugs. "Most of them aren't too bad, though, aside from the Dread Ghost Zombie Demon Statue Walrus Pirate King LeChuck. He's dead for good now though." Terrifying mental manifestations in the Velvet Room aside, anyway.

"... I get the feeling I shouldn't ask. But yeah I'm not a zombie. Just dead." Come to think of it, he has no idea what happened to his body.

"As long as you're taking it in stride, I guess. Though if you're dead, why do you even NEED to be in a hospital?" The mysteries of life. And death, we suppose.

"Death in my world - for some people, anyway - is weird. You get a chance to come back if you win the Reaper's Game, though that's pretty rare. You can be hurt by the Noise running around, the Reapers... other Players too, I guess - though they don't usually go after reach other. If you 'die', you get Erased - no coming back from that. Other than that we still have to run everywhere. Most people can't see us, and we can't even go inside unless the building's been specifically marked. We can scan thoughts and move some small things with the right mark, too - but that's about it when it comes to interacting with the living."

He pauses for a moment. "... Though I'm not gonna scan people's thoughts here. One - it's probably kinda rude. Two - most people's surface thoughts are actually pretty boring."

"Yeah, uh, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want you poking around in there." Not that Guybrush exactly has the deepest or most insightful thoughts most of the time, anyway. "I dunno, kinda sounds like it lacks that sort of morbid flash and dazzle. Where's the ability to get horrifying injuries and still walk around like nothing happened?"

"I dunno. You can heal from injuries with certain Pins, but it's not like the classic zombie stuff. Sorry to disappoint."

"Eh. Probably for the best. I've dealt with way too many rotting corpses in my life anyway." He shrugs. "Anyway, I should probably get on with the rest of the deliveries. Nice talking dead stuff with you."
