What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.

Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).

So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.

Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...

There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.

By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...

[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!

He smiles faintly and almost shrugs but remembers not to do that, given his arm. "Ah... I know. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to worry everyone. ... I'm glad you're well, though."

"As long as you're well, that's good enough. Please take care of yourself."

The mildly scolding edge leaves his voice. There was a soft sigh that escaped from him, head tilting back onto his shoulders, wistful. "There was work to be done, but we handled the situation well."

"I will," Minato assures Pharos with a soft smile, though his explanation gives Minato pause. "Work to be done?"

Pharos turns his head to look sideways at Minato, blue eyes softening a little in return. The sharp, watery morning light illuminated the hospital room, outlining the shadows cast by the bedstand and bed.

"Not all of the souls caught in this conflict were so fortunate as to escape what awaits everyone at the end of their road."

Oh. He nods but doesn't say anything, his gaze drifting away from Pharos to the shadows on the wall. "I hope there weren't too many," he eventually says, toying with the edge of his blanket.

Well. "Many, many more of them lived rather than died," Pharos said reassuringly, watching as Minato's gray-eyed gaze slowly wandered away from him to the wall, and to the harmless shadows etched upon it by the sunlight. Two hundred-something was a rather puny number when you compared it to the number of the rest of the living, after all.

"That's... good. I guess we were able to protect most of the people, then."

He still feels bad that anyone died because of the conflict, but it's the Anoli's fault for even attacking to begin with. He wonder how many of their people died or if it was only civillians who died or what? He hasn't heard of any of the visitors dying...

"I'm glad that makes you happy."

Someday soon Pharos will learn to feel honest worry for anybody other than the Arisatos', even if he's only just starting to. Someday. He crossed his legs over each other, wrinkling the clean white bedsheets. "Efforts to repair the damage are already underway, I imagine."

"I'm sure... with everything this city's been through, they seem on top of repairs..."

He thinks of the scorpio attack, for one thing, and how quickly that got cleaned up.

Pharos giggles. "People are good at rebuilding after destruction, if nothing else. It behooves them to repair the damage wought."

Quick to recover from battles, quick to reconstruct and move along.

"Yeah. The sooner stuff's repaired, the sooner you get back to normal..." He thinks that made sense; he's still a little groggy, though.

"Like taking away a reminder."

He continue to talk, not considering Minato being half-asleep during a discussion between them strange at all. "It makes it easier to not look back."

"Yeah." He nods and interrupts himself with a sleepy yawn. Yeah, Pharos is used to this too. He probably won't mind if Minato drifts back asleep. Or will he?

He wouldn't mind, not at all. Pharos curled his hand, then flattened it to the bed. The sun had inched higher into the sky while they talked, the birds beginning to chirp a chorus. "Anyway, I implore you to recover your health soon and to not push yourself too far in trying to walk out of here before you're healed enough to do that. Do this favor for me, okay?"
