What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.

Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).

So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.

Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...

There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.

By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...

[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!

She had to wait until there was no one there in order to finally see him. She was injured like most but that didn't stop her from going between areas, looking for her friends and hoping that she would see them. It figures that maybe all the boys were to be in there and she got turned away when spotted the first time.

It also didn't help that a nurse was hunting her and trying to keep her in bed like a good patient. Like that was helping anyone.

Finally the doctor left and Yukiko could finally sneak into the room. There...was no words for what she saw.

"Oh god..." she breathed quietly, putting a hand over her mouth, seeing the damage. The girl was afraid to see what exactly was under those wrappings but she moved closer to Yu regardless. All the machines and tubes in him, it made her almost look away. Not because of disgust of what the Anoli did to him.

Because of what she did to him.

Everyone can say that it's not true, that he was protecting her, but it was just covering up the truth. He did jump in front of that attack and he was paying the price for it.

"...my fault...it's all my fault."

Yukiko trembled as she finally reached his bed, gripping the hospital gown she wore, head staying down.

"I'm so sorry...It should be me in there, not you. You should be home with Nanako-chan and safe."

She could feel wetness running down her cheeks, holding back sobs, trying to stay quiet before a nurse sees her.

"I wasn't strong enough for you...I shouldn't be so weak to this but...I rather be there than you. Everyone is pulling for you, even me. So please...if you can hear me..."

There was silence for just a moment.

"...forgive me."

All her fault, hm? Well, facts dictated it was something else entirely. Though she was far from understanding what could fully provoke such thoughts, she knew well enough that utilizing logic at a time such as this did little to soothe the emotions of those just out of her reach. It was her area of expertise, after all.

Who knew how long she'd truly been there? That was not up for man to say. Though, there was a hand suddenly touching a less-injured part of the young Priestess's shoulder.

"...He can hear you, child." That she knew from experience, so it was spoken softly; as if only a whisper. "You need not worry yourself over that."

What was comforting? She did not know, but at least she was not here to claim his soul.

That was one less thing to worry about, true. But then there's everything else right now. And the ache in her chest is getting worse. Spoiler alert: it's not from her injuries.

"It should be me lying there...he doesn't deserve this..."

Lucky that it's just Izanami there: if it were her friends, she would stay tight lipped and go as far away as she can. She just can't face them like this.

Oh, humanity... What ever is she to do with any of you? She spared a sigh; both vaguely understanding (while not completely understanding at all) and slightly annoyed, though keeping that part away from the child as she removed her hand.

"Nor do any who have the courage to stand when others do not." Her gaze went from the girl to the one lying on the bed. How ironic that what rendered him unconscious were flames. "...I doubt, however, that he regrets his actions."

Save the pain it is causing his girlfriend right now, but that could be remedied soon enough.

"Do you believe in him still, Amagi-chan?"

That's just him: regrets nothing that he does. She's slightly afraid to even use her fire abilities around him because of that girl. What was worse that someone actually absorbed it which made her feeling worse about being weak.

'Amagi-chan'? Really Death Mom? The nickname doesn't go not noticed but she doesn't turn around, keeping her gaze on the one lying in the bed.

"...I do."

It was a failed attempt to lighten the mood, okay. She does not do the comforting thing well, but she is there at least. Though, she knew what her presence may mean for the children who think she is there to collect...

"Then he will return to you." She smiled faintly, in an action that could be considered kindness. "You need only believe in him and be sure you are well when he awakens."

So you can tell him off for being so dumb or whatever it is you humans do.

Well, she tried at least. And it is kind of cute...if anyone can say it to her face. Anyone who might know who she is might find it awkward but at the same time, strangely comforting.

"I always do."

Believe me, there will be tears and telling off the boyfriend. Mostly tears because he was playing Big Damn Hero this time. It takes a bit but she moved one of her hands from the railing and slowly to one of Yu's hands. It's barely a touch but one to say that she's here right now.

Something strange happened then. Maybe it was real, maybe it was Yukiko's imagination... but as soon as she touched his hand, it almost seemed like it twitched, almost as if it were trying to close. Doctors would probably attribute it to his body just reacting to stimuli, but... well, Izanami did say he could hear them...

But does she want it to be her imagination? Not in this lifetime.

Yukiko always thought that line about people in comas couldn't hear and about them listening wasn't true. But something about this and the belief that she wanted it so much. Even with her tears and the feelings she was holding inside, she felt a hint of a smile forming.

He's listening.

She didn't want to rush it but instead of a light touch, Yukiko had placed her hand over his.

I'm here.

Teddie had been making his rounds around the hospital. As much as he felt bad that he hadn't been able to help much with the attack, he wanted to be there now. He couldn't leave like he did last time because of how bad and useless he felt. Not when everyone needed him to stay chipper! Walking to Yukiko, he's not wearing his bear suit this time, feeling it's not the appropriate time for it. Looking into the room, Teddie reaches over to take Yukiko's hand suddenly, hoping in some way, this is helping.

"Sensei doesn't need to forgive you, because you didn't do anything wrong, Yuki-chan....." Teddie says quietly, looking at her, "He'll say that himself when he wakes up."

Because there is no maybes or ifs with Teddie.

It was only a matter of time before someone from the team came to see him, and finding her close by. A simple hand hold couldn't make Yukiko forget the terrible feelings she had holding inside her but she wasn't going to tell that to Teddie. No, he was trying and she was going to let him do that right now.

"Then why do I feel like this?"

Teddie doesn't know how to answer that at first. It's hard to tell someone why they feel the way they do. He also didn't have a ton of experience in this department either. But, he knows what he wants to say, so he just follows his instinct.

"Well, because you feel like you should have done more, or that maybe you could have changed it." Teddie provides, "But I know Sensei and I know that no matter how many times or how many different ways it would have happened, he would have done the same thing every time."

A pause while Teddie thinks again.

"Apologizing or feeling like you're at fault isn't going to help you or Sensei. It'll only hurt you more..."

Too late, it already hurts.

She really is holding back and just squeezes the boy's hand tightly, just hoping not to cry again. It would be easy to believe the words but it kept being beaten by her negative thoughts. The best thing to do would be to run and get the hell out of there but it would just make things worse.

Teddie squeezes back, looking up to Yukiko now, trying to give her a smile. "But, it's okay to feel that way and cry, you know. Sometimes, you just need a big bear hug!"

"H-Huh?"

Teddie what are you doing? Are you planning what she thinks you are...?

It would be welcomed...

Teddie looks at the other with a curious look. All he did was offer a hug....she was sad...was that a weird thing to do when people were sad?

"Did I say something wrong again?"

No Teddie, you just startled her. It's alright.

"N-no, you didn't say anything wrong."

Rise hadn't been hurt too badly. Getting taken out by Persona magic did a lot less permanent damage than what else could have happened.

Usually.

Naturally, though, she was up and around the hospital even sooner than she was supposed to be when she heard who else was here. And who was in ICU. In fact, she was in a bit of a rush as soon as she could disconnect herself from an IV...but of course, someone was there first.

She hesitated at the door for a moment, unsure if she should intrude, but a glimpse of Yukiko's face told her she probably should. She entered quietly.

And maybe thankfully that Yukiko didn't notice. She would clam up and not try to speak to her friends right now.

Yeah, she's kind of in her own little world of self hating right now so any kind of good news would make her a little happy.

She walked up next to Yukiko without saying anything, looking down at Yu's injuries silently for a long moment.

"What is with you guys?" she asked, suddenly.

Ok, that startles her and she turns to face the other girl. She's definitely been crying because her eyes are red and there's streaks down her face.

"R-Rise-chan! I didn't even hear you come in!"

"First of all, after all those speeches about being careful, you go off and charge people without waiting for me," she said, building up steam and not looking at Yukiko at the moment.

"And then there's the jumping in front of attacks. All of you keep doing that no matter how suicidal it looks. Maybe it's because I'm useless at fighting but I really don't see what that's supposed to accomplish other than making everyone else feel guilty. Literally all of you did that at Izanami when it looked like she was killing people. How do you think that made me feel, not being there, huh? How inconsiderate do you have to be to...to throw yourself at a bad guy like that? I made friends with a bunch of...heroes, or something."

She paused, taking a breath and trying to remember where she was going with this.

Rise, you're not helping the situation. AT ALL.

Granted what she was saying is true but no one ever got this injured and not so early on in the fight. They barely attacked when the Anoli started pounding their own onto the Visitors and residents. And this...well, it was making her feel worse. She's quiet, unable to really respond to the other.

No matter what they do, all of them are heroes in one way or another. So don't feel left out Rise.

She sighed.

"I'm sorry. I'm being selfish. I just...I don't want him to be hurt and you to look like that," she admitted. "One or the other I can handle, but you looking upset about him doing something I've seen you do right back to him is just a little too much."

"Something that hasn't happened to me yet."

Even after hearing the truth about who Izanami was and how she shouldn't trust her...she couldn't follow that thought pattern. Not after what happened even before all of this.

"...you're not being selfish Rise-chan. It's just...I was so terrified..."
