Farewell Happy Fields!
Farewell Happy Fields!
☯
What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.
Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).
So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.
---
Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...
There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.
By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...
[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!
You may all start your threads and mingle!]

The Doctor is In -- Open
Odds are, if you or one of your friends went under the knife, needed some stitches or some skin grafts, this guy's one of the people that handled it, or know the people that handled it, so he probably knows what's up. With most of the people in critical condition taken care of, he's finally got a chance to rest, which consists of parking himself by one of the desks in the ICU, or some part of a hallway or the reception area, and yawning a bit while he pretends to go over a chart and look busy, or making himself a cup of coffee.
He seems nice enough however, so perhaps you'd like to ask him some questions?

In retrospect, she wishes she had been there, though she's not sure she would've made a difference. Samus didn't really understand the full gravity of the situation, however, until she had arrived at the hospital for one of her regular checkups and saw just how busy and overflowing with patients the place had become.
Wearing a casual military style outfit, Samus approaches a doctor in the reception area as she pulls her eyes away from yet another gravely injured patient being wheeled down the hallway.
"Excuse me sir, I've come in for one of my regularly scheduled checkups? If this is a bad time, however, I can postpone it until next week." It wasn't as though there was anything out of the ordinary about her condition anyway. Nothing had changed about it in the past two weeks since her last checkup.

He looked up from the papers he had been (pretending) to study, to look at her curiously and adjust his glasses. He, didn't seem to know much about that off the top of his head, but he was a surgeon.
"Oh-- no, I'm sure it's fine. Most of the people who are busy are the surgeons and the anesthesiologists," He said, quickly looking through some of the files on the desk.
"You're one of the visitors, right?"
no subject
"Affirmative. My name is Samus Aran. I'm here about my medical condition regarding the toxins in my system."
You might notice the dark blue veins around her eyes or running down her neck. She also looks like... she might be glowing a little blue?

He finishes going through the papers, trying not to let his focus wander to the...um...glowing veins. Yeah that definitely seemed like something you needed a doctor for.
"Just wait here for a moment, I'll get Dr. Choi; he'll probably be able to help you better than I could."
He gave her a small nod of his head before disappearing momentarily back into the throng of rushing medical professionals.

Samus waits patiently by the front desk, arms folded over her chest as she watches the others go by. It's a shame she didn't have much medical experience herself. If the Chozo were here, she was certain their advancements in medicine would come in handy to this city and the hospital. It was a shame that none of that legacy came with her, only their military technology instead.

If the surgeon recognizes him, it's probably from seeing him making his own rounds, doing this, or maybe from the other staff's comments about there being a vampire bird-person Visitor, who'd mostly only needed to feed again and rest a bit, before he'd recovered.
"I um...." He looked up to the human, burying his hands in his wing again, going back to preening without having to watch what he was doing. "I just... wanted to say thank you. One of my brothers is a doctor too, and... I know how hard it can get, sometimes."

When he got back to his desk, the giant feather there was...admittedly a bit baffling, but his attention was quickly on Avitus himself. And as weird as the whole situation was, he does smile and adjust his glasses a bit.
"Ahah, thank you, too. It's my pleasure. It may get a little hectic, but I wouldn't trade it for the world."
no subject
"I don't have the Gift of healing others, like he does... nor the stomach for learning this profession as he and the humans do. But if there is anything I can do for you... you'll let me know, I hope?"
Right, the vampire that somehow can't stand gore is offering to help at the hospital.
To be fair, he's trying for helping with morale at the moment, giving people feathers like he is... so at least there's that. Surely someone would need a pick-me-up sometime? Or maybe have him run errands, or something... who knows, at this point? Unless he already has anything he can ask Avitus to do for them?
